Mae Rim Hotels with Private Pools

"Very nice and aesthetically decorated resort which is run by a group of honest and hardworking bunch of employees. The facilities are well maintained and clean. Breakfast was great. Of course do not expect the resort like other reviews here to be insect free as it’s on a mountain surrounded by trees and waterfall and nature"

"The accommodation is clean, but the view is only of zinc. The hot water system is not good, so you can't take a quick shower and soak in the tub. The rooster crows very loudly, from midnight to 2 a.m. and periodically until morning, making it difficult to sleep because it is very loud. The bed is a bit too soft, so it is easy to get back pain."

"The hotel is beautiful, but it's built on a mountainside, so the buildings you need are spread out on a very steep road, so it's not easy to move around it. There are golf buggies that take you from place to place if you call them, but having to ask for a vehicle every time you want to go and eat or leave is quite annoying. The distances are walkable, but not if you have mobility issues. The pavements are also in far worse condition than the roads, so you end up walking on the roads and having to keep jumping out the way of the passing vehicles. Photos are attached of the view of the very steep road going up next to our balcony to show an example of the scale of the steepness. The location is remote. Apparently taxi apps like Grab and Bolt do not work here, although we did manage to quickly book a Bolt to take us here from Chiang Mai centre. A car and driver can be hired from the hotel for 2500 baht for 4 hours. I wouldn't recommend visiting if you don't have your own vehicle, as there is nothing nearby you can walk to. On check-in, the hotel said they offered room service, but there were no menus in the rooms. The room cleaning was slow if you are on a higher floor - on our 2 days, they didn't manage to visit all morning despite us leaving the ”please clean room” sign on the door. I found out later that you can ring reception to ask your room to be prioritised. The restaurant is expensive compared to central Chiang Mai, and they recommend that you reserve a table every night you want to eat there, but the food was good. Service was a bit chaotic. On the night we arrived, at 5:30 pm, reception told us they had reserved a table for us. But when we went to the restaurant, that did not seem to be the case, and we were taken to an unreserved table in a loud and echoey room. I then had to go up and ask to order as no-one came, and then the order was missing items when it did arrive. Randomly on the grounds near the lobby, there is a parrot in a tiny cage compared to its size with no entertainment, hardly any plants, and barely anywhere to perch. It's really sad to see."

"The accommodation is very relaxing and quiet, perfect for a real getaway. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, especially the congee. We also ordered the *mookata* set, and it arrived exactly when we requested. It was so tasty and a huge portion; two people could barely finish it."

"We were looking forward to staying here so much, it was the most expensive place we stayed in at £149 for the night, unfortunately it was extremely disappointing first we were kept waiting 40 minutes in the blazing heat for a driver, we had to phone twice to ask how much longer we would have to wait, we were then kept waiting another 40 minutes to check in despite us asking for early check in. We eventually got to the room which was very dusty on both bedside tables and around the headboards, the deciding factor to us booking here was the outdoor bath unfortunate we had to clean it before using it then the water was only tepid so it was no good. The staff were absolutely lovely here if attention was paid to cleaning and the bath had hot water it would have been nice, I would not stay here again despite the lovely staff and stunning views."

"It took me about 50 minutes to take a taxi from the city of Chiang Mai. I walked more and more into the countryside. But as soon as I arrived, ducks, cats, and peacocks came to greet me. I suddenly relaxed my nervousness. The room was not big, but it was enough for me alone. Yes, the hardware in the bathroom and toilet is also old. Peacocks would come and go on the balcony of my room. The water in the waterfall is not very full, but it can be seen that the owner has put a lot of effort into maintaining the environment."

"Beautiful new accommodation decorated in warm, soothing tones. The atmosphere is peaceful and very private. There's a view of the green mountains and a light mist. Breakfast is served as delicious local food, and dinner is a large, free pork barbecue set. The weather is very nice and cool, perfect for relaxation."

"This was our last stop in Chiang Mai. We had been quite tired from the previous few days of sightseeing, so we chose to relax here for the last two nights. Since we were traveling with our child, we opted for a pool room. The private pool was actually larger than it appeared in the photos, which was great for the little one to swim in. Before arriving, I had seen some warning posts online, so I was a bit nervous, but our actual experience was quite good. It's beautiful, truly beautiful; it has a different charm whether it's cloudy or sunny. The hotel food was tasty, though a bit pricey. The service was also very good; everyone was polite, smiled, and greeted us. The room was neat and clean, although the mattress was indeed a bit soft. Also, apart from a small carton of milk, everything in the mini-bar was chargeable, so remember to stock up at 7-Eleven before you arrive. 😂 We signed up for the herbal ball making activity on Thursday, but it was over in less than 10 minutes. The activity felt a bit perfunctory; it's definitely not worth making a special trip back for if you have other plans. It's still worth visiting for a girlfriends' trip or a romantic getaway. As for a family trip, we went because Mom wanted to, hahaha!"

"Our stay at Mae Rim Grace was truly wonderful!!! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed, so comfortable and in a tasteful Thai style. The location was excellent, right in the middle of Mae Rim. The staff were wonderful, particularly the breakfast was beyond our expectations! I have never been to a place where they come in and cook breakfast for you. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the staff came in and were very polite and efficient. Khun Pen was there for our every need, even bringing small gifts to our 3 daughters. Staying at Mae Rim Grace felt like a home a way from home, I only wish we could stay longer! The pool was also great, and the outdoor area was perfect for lounging around. Highly recommend this place and we can’t wait to stay again!"
