"We stayed in The Pink Lady which is a Creaky old house, full of charm. A little tired and worn, but clean and comfortable and full of character. Staff were very friendly and helpful breakfast gave a good choice. There are 3 restaurants that are part of the hotel ‘The next door burger’, which is in ‘The pink lady house’, ‘The belfry’ and ‘The seal’, which are next door and a 2 minute walk. We ate in The Seal on our first night and it was so good we went back on our second night."

"Very disappointing. Good location. Well-kept grounds. But sub-standard rental unit. Sad and shabby. Completely lacking in charm. Mildew. Thrift-shop, mostly mismatched furnishings. Ceiling lighting, except for one bedside lamp. I rented the only efficiency unit, with a "full kitchen." Partially equipped. There were were no pots and pans to cook with. There were two small non-stick frying pans; only one was useable. No tea kettle to boil water. Damaged pans were left in the oven by prior renters. There was only one wine glass. One coffee mug. No cork screw. No dish towels; paper towels only. No working cutlery. Broken knives stashed in various shelves and drawers. No spatula or cooking utensils. No kitchen trash container or garbage bags. No working light over the stove. Bathroom sink stopper did not hold water. I complained to the owner. It took two days before he had time to supply most of the missing items, which he went out & bought. No kitchen trash container was provided for the entire stay. I asked for a partial refund for the missing items and the inconvenience. He agreed to $25 per night. I would not recommend this place. Well meaning but inexperienced owner. Seems overwhelmed. Never inspected the units between renters. "Didn't know" there were so many problems. "No one mentioned it" before me."
