"This resort is really beatiful, with a very nice garden, with lots of birds. The pools are nice and the beach is very nice as well. Staff is mostly friendly and helpfull. Sadly there are a few annoying factors to your stay at this location. Although there is not much that the mangement can do about it, there is a lot of noise coming from the street where the hotel is situated. There is something like a disco across the street which plays very hard music which continues till around 05.00am. It is impossible to get a rest if you are staying in one of the apartments close to the street (like "stones"). This certainly would be a reazon for me not to book at this resort again. Something what the management can do something about is the inefficiency of the restaurant. More than once it took more than an hour to get our diners served. It is a chaos and the waiters don't know which customers are being served and which are not. Breakfast was included in our case. Still time after time they tried to charge us for our breakfast once more. After we had payed for our diners and drinks at the restaurant we were charged for these again when checking out at the reception. These mistakes were all fixed with out much discussion, but it is annoying."

"A really good hotel with spacious rooms. The facilities are good with new ACs installed in the rooms. WiFi covering qll main spots and rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff, always offering help when in need. Hotel Manager is such a dedicated man. I got to see playful monkeys around enjoying mature before sunsets. Pool is big and spacious. Most rooms are with a view on the ocean. As for location, it is located in Senegambia district which is the touristic area in Gambia. Breakfast is nice."

"This has potential to be a fantastic hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The pool area is lovely and the food is pretty good. The downfalls are no kettle in the room, we had 3 different rooms during our stay (we came and went a few times over 3 weeks) and none of the hairdryers worked. The key constantly needed rechipping and we got locked out at least 4 times. The ground staff ie: gardeners, pool guy, cleaners and car park men were all lovely but the front of house staff in reception and restaurant were miserable and unfriendly. Not very welcoming. There also needs to be someone who comes around for drinks orders at the pool, walking up to the main building in swimwear isn’t very comfortable and something most other hotels do anyway. But this said we would stay here again as it is by far the nicest hotel in the area now (we’ve been coming to the Gambia for years)"

Forest View Apartments
"We have just arrived back from Senegambia and stayed in one of the Forrest view apartments for 1 week. The apartment was large with 3 double bedrooms, one ensuite. Beds were clean as was the furniture and toilets but the walls and styling around the doors had months of hand prints on them and looked quite dirty. We were in room B4, our windows all faced on to the back of the Motherland Bar/Nightclub and the noise was unbelievable and went on until 5am. The noice was not just confined to the visitors at the back of the apartment as others we spoke to could hear it too. The staff apologised and said they couldn't do anything about it. Very well equipped apartments. Staff were all lovely and very welcoming and friendly. The pool area was very nice and always being cleaned. There is about 12 beds to use if lying by the pool. The area in which the apartments are situated is fantastic and sits on The Strip, a very lively area with lots of restaurants, bars and entertainment. If I was to write a negative it would have to be about the air pollution from the hundreds of old cars that run up and down the strip during the day and night, not that it is really anything to do with the apartments, but you could smell and taste the fumes."

"Beautiful hotel. Only a 10 minute walk to restaurants and night life. Across the road from a monkey sanctuary & conference centre. Bar was nice. Breakfast was simple (English breakfast) though it was a bit small for the price paid."

"We stayed outside the 'tourist season', so the hotel wasn't quite up to date yet. But apart from that, it was fantastic! The staff is friendly and helpful, the chef prepares the most delicious [local] dishes for you, and the owner talks your ear off and is genuinely interested in you. The hotel is situated in a wonderfully quiet location, right on the beach, and has a beautiful garden with a swimming pool. The rooms are spacious. There is no air conditioning, but there are ceiling fans. Electricity is generated using solar panels and was more than sufficient. If you appreciate peace and quiet, this hotel is highly recommended!"

"These apartments are well appointed and comfortable - we are in a ground floor apartment facing north so the shady side we requested. Great big smart television with Netflix and prime and comfortable sofa and table and chairs as well as big fridge freezer and washing machine. Rooms are cleaned alternate days. Swim up rooms look great but all booked up for our visit. Staff are great and helpful. Pool staff, Levan and Amon are there whenever you need a bed moving or an umbrella and keeping the pool clean. Cafe staff are helpful and make a great cup of coffee as well as fabulous cocktails. Requested a table for our verandah to do a jigsaw on and despite some confusion as to what I wanted, it did arrive. Nice new comfy chairs around the cafe as well as table seating. Great views of the sea and lots of beds available on the sand with shade. Been nice and quiet, no rush for beds at all and Mani Sushi is next door which is a fabulous place to eat and drink. It’s a far cry from a lot of the now shabby places to stay around here. Lots are old and need an upgrade. This is modern and comfy."
