Scalloway Hotel ★★★
"Dobry hotel."
Varis House ★★
"Very nice hotel, all very clean, good room,. we would book it again"
Busta House Hotel ★★★
"We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Busta House Hotel - relaxed and friendly, superb food and drink and as usual we were well looked after by the lovely, attentive team of staff which always adds to the experience. The splendid Vaila room is a real treat and breakfast the following day was faultless - many thanks to Grant and the team for yet another memorable evening."
St Magnus Bay Hotel ★★
"Great location and friendly owner. Hotel is the only one in the area and although very clean - is beginning to look a bit tired. Good food - random service lol! Good flexibility with antisocial breakfast times. Basic room with an excellent shower. Hotel would benefit from a drying room."
The Westings ★★
"Lovely welcoming Hotel - warm and so comfy! David is so friendly and extremely accommodating. He serves a delicious breakfast and perfect coffee! I was on business and it was perfect to have a nice warm room to return to each night. Bed lovely and comfy too."
The Brae Hotel ★★
"The Brae hotel is situated in a beautiful area of the Mainland with a well stocked Co-op nearby and also Frankie’s fish and chips, which was amazing. Sadly the call of fish and chips meant we didn’t try the restaurant but breakfast was so good and generous. Two of everything - including black pudding! The two lads cooking and serving were incredibly friendly and efficient. A great start to the day. The room was large and had everything we needed, including a fridge (all hotels should have mini-fridges!). It was spotlessly clean with a large bathroom and hot, powerful shower. One moan - the entrance is up a number of steps that were all scattered with tab ends. Not a great look as you arrive and easily rectified! Sadly we only had one night here. Would stay again if in the area."
Glen Orchy House ★★
"Appalling. Dirty, bed linen awful, beds awful, bathroom antiquated, no room service when requested. Surly unhelpful staff. Room too hot. A terrible experience"
Eddlewood Guest House ★★★
"We stayed here for 6 nights and had a very decent sized room on the top floor which gave us terrific views. The guesthouse is perfectly placed in Lerwick, easy walk to everywhere in town and close to the main road both North and South. The bathroom was large with a bath over the shower and room could be serviced every day if you required it. There was also a washing machine and dryer for guest use. A full Scottish breakfast was available every day if you desired it but there was also yoghurt fruit cereal etc. There is no designated parking, just what is available on the street. We never had an issue accessing parking. The owner is relatively new to the business I think and he is a very nice, friendly chap. Rooms could do with a little bit of updating and dusting but overall a very happy and comfortable week for us."
Queens Hotel ★★★
"I came here before mobile phones, before Amazon, before internet. I fell in love with this hotel and Shetland. Jutting out into a cold sea with waves crashing on the walls it was the most exciting place in the world. We turned on the hairdryers and trouser press to keep warm..we had porridge with double cream for breakfast followed by a whisky Mac or two to keep us warm we danced and sang .. I was 27 years old and fell in love with all of it. Shetland is a magical place, the hotel is what it is, see the beauty of it if you go, authenticity is hard to find. I’m 60 now and still looking for the wonderful unspoilt places."
