Review of O by Tamara Hotel Rating: 3.5/5 stars O by Tamara offers a tale of two experiences: the facilities earn a solid 4 stars, while the service standards hover around 3 stars—creating an interesting contrast that management should address. The Good: The hotel's facilities are genuinely excellent and well worth the visit. The infrastructure and amenities reflect thoughtful design and quality investment. The Challenging: The service execution, unfortunately, doesn't match the facility standards. During our stay, we found ourselves repeating requests multiple times—whether at the restaurant or with general hotel staff. The breakfast service was particularly entertaining in an unintended way: the staff exhibited what I'd call ”Brownian motion hospitality”—lots of energetic movement, but not always in productive directions. Items were frequently forgotten, and follow-ups became necessary more often than expected. The Concerning: We requested a late checkout until 1:00 PM. The front desk approved only a 30-minute extension, yet our bill reflected a 2-hour late checkout. This discrepancy requires immediate attention from management. Recommendations: The property would benefit from comprehensive staff retraining to align service quality with the excellent facilities. Additionally, rooms and common areas could use renovation to maintain the overall standard. Bottom Line: The facilities make this hotel worth considering, but the management team needs to invest in service training and operational consistency. With these improvements, O by Tamara could easily become a standout property. I remain hopeful that management will address these concerns promptly. Thats all!!

We loved the breakfast buffet — such a great variety and everything was delicious. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The front desk staff were polite and efficient, and the waiters were consistently attentive and helpful. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Spacious rooms. Lovely staff. Beautiful gardens. Clean pool. It's actually one of three hotels located adjacent to each other and guests can use pools, restaurants, yoga, meditation etc at any of the three during their stay. Access to the beach is via stairs or the lift, then 100 m walk to the sand. Guests are mostly from Europe and stay for the Ayurvedic treatment programs - which must be good as there were lots of annual return guests. However, if you are not on a program this is an expensive option for this area. Group yoga €20 per class if not on a program (which is a bit much). Would recommend staying here if seeking a luxury ayurvedic treatment package.

The properties location was very inconvenient. The road leading to it is pretty bad. No driver wants to come and if they do, they charge extra. Very difficult to get a ride back but almost impossible to get a ride to somewhere from the property. Food on the other hand is pretty amazing. Definitely one of the best restaurants in kerala. The rooms are awesome but in our bathroom there was sewage smell and it never went away even after cleaners cleaned it. Seems to be coming from the bathroom drain. If the road was great and washroom was good i would definitely rate it 5 star.

The Leela, Kovalam is an amazing hotel, which my 11 year old son and I would highly recommend! It is on a cliff top overlooking the Arabian Sea. We upgraded to Club Room, which provides you with access to The Cafe, a restaurant serving Club members complimentary breakfast 7-10:30am and High Tea 5-6pm and additional a La carts chargeable lunch and dinner. The Club room is exceptional, with a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Arabian Sea, King bed with very comfortable mattress and bedding, fantastic walk in shower, sink and toilet, with all the toiletries. Rooms are cleaned well and the food is wonderful. We ate everything safely with no upset stomached here and the staff were wonderful! We would happily return!

The Coast View hotel felt a bit dated, but it was generally clean. The TV wasn't working, but it was fixed immediately. The breakfast buffet and restaurant were delicious, and the staff　were very helpful. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a detailed statement of my credit card payment at checkout. Despite multiple email requests since returning home, I haven't received a detailed statement of the total amount, so I'm confused about what was charged to my room and how much.Could you please attach it to an email as soon as possible?

For the premium pricing, the value proposition is lacking. I would recommend the management to seriously invest in upgrading the rooms, amenities, and overall infrastructure to deliver a better and more future-ready experience. The amenities feel stuck in the past. If the property wants to stay competitive in 2025 and beyond, they definitely need to revamp and modernize their offerings

Amazing location...just a few walks away from the beach...the rooms are spacious and neat...The room service could've been improved...Rest everything was good... Trip.com was helpful with the support they offered instantly as I had an issue with check in. Rest everything was great.

Fantastic Stay - Walking distance from the Railway station. Limited food items for morning breakfast, taste is good
