3-Star Hotels in Guangzhou

The location of this hotel is undeniable great as it is just walking distance to many eateries and 四海城 also opposite to Wanda shopping mall and many happening places to hang out at night and shop. I choose this hotel because of its location and their good review, the service of the staff at the counter was excellent for the first night when we arrive, they help us to carry our luggage and manage it to the room, we were extremely satisfied for the first night. The location was good and the room was spacious, the ammenities in the room is quite old, the washing machine looks like a 20 years old machine which we turn it on everytime the sounds came out from the toilet looks like the machine is going to breakdown, we had to keep the door close when we use the washing machine. The dryer is located outside of the passage way and we first time seeing the old school dryer with a wardrobe and a hot blower at the bottom to dry the clothes. Anyway we just tolerate as the location was good and the room was clean, until the next day we went down to the lobby and requested the reception to help us to order something and they were kind and helpful and after a favour of helping us they requested us the write a review abt the hotel and I said ok and I will do it the next day when I checkout, We were satisfied even though the facilities was abit old and the fridge was not turn on and our cakes were all spoilt the next day. The next day when we were going to checkout, the same reception staff at the lobby saw us and was smiling and helpful to us and the next moment she again asked if we could write a review now immediately, I say ok and she continue to say that make sure the review has to be 5 star review and if not it will be penalized. I was shocked as even all the old amenities and things in the room I wanted to give a 4 star review with 5 star for the location and 3 star on the amenities as I wanted to have my view to reflect my own experience. Then she continued to explain if the review from me is not 5 star all the staff will be penalized. Then I honesty told her that I apologize and I do not feel that I will give a 5 star rating as I probably do not experience a 5 star service and facilities in the hotel, I would prefer to give a honest review. Then the moment when she heard that, she replied me that in that case pls do not need to review thanks, then I say ok that’s fine and from that onwards they do not smile at us or being helpful to us anymore and it was a total change, we transferred our luggge down the lobby with 5 luggages including boxes, they offer no help at all like the first day, we were waiting at the lobby and when our car arrive we carried the luggages ourselves and they stood at the lobby with no eye contact and no friendly attitude to us even without greeting us like the first day during our arrival or before they request for the review. I felt a very bad experience with the staff who responded to us in that manner just because we are not giving a 5 star review to them, which I honestly felt a review should be an honest opinion to the rest so that it could help travelers like us before validating an accommodation before booking, which is why now I u begin to understand that the review when we read from the hotel before our booking wasn’t genuine and I read all good review with 5 star and hence i booked the hotel at Xena and I didn’t expect that the reviews all came with an dishonest review and I believe this is not something that a traveler needs before they start booking for their next trip. I hope trip.com would be able to filter all the ingenuity of 5 start which came from the pressure of receptionist of the hotel.

Facilities: Absolutely fantastic! The hotel's facilities and amenities far exceed those of a typical three-star hotel – a pleasant surprise indeed! They also offer stylish and elegant complimentary tea rooms, both large and small, for guests to relax and enjoy tea. The room's lights, air conditioning, curtains, and bathroom are all smart and very convenient to use. Cleanliness: If there's one outstanding feature of Huiyuan, besides its beauty and tastefulness, it has to be its impeccable cleanliness! It's the cleanest hotel I've ever seen. I stayed here for an exam at Huazhong Agricultural University, and despite the rainy weather, my second-floor room didn't feel damp or unclean at all. From the lobby to the room, everything was exceptionally spotless. Robot vacuums and cleaning staff were all diligently at work, meticulously cleaning the stairs and corridors. There wasn't a speck of dust in the room, no strange odors, and the solid wood furniture also had no unpleasant smell – very comforting! Environment: It's like a beautiful garden villa. The podocarpus trees, hydrangeas, lemon trees, orchids, ponds, and koi fish – all the plants and animals are so well-cared for. There are also several tea rooms on the first floor with a wonderful ambiance... Sitting there sipping tea and practicing calligraphy is one of life's true pleasures. The hotel owner truly has great taste and vision. Service: All the hotel staff are very gentle and approachable, making you feel right at home. On the first day, when I was checking in and about to go upstairs, the owner proactively helped me with my luggage. When I wanted to throw away some trash after lunch, the cleaning uncle told me to just give it to him. While I was exploring the courtyard, the room cleaning staff were also very enthusiastic and provided excellent service. The owner heard we were here for an exam and even offered to drive us there; all we had to do was tell the front desk the time. The next morning, on the day of the exam, the owner punctually drove us. He said he does this for all guests taking exams, as long as they inform him in advance. Summary: This is truly a wonderfully comfortable hotel. The facilities and amenities are excellent, very stylish and high-class. If you have any problems or needs, the hotel will help resolve them. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

This stay truly exceeded my expectations! The apartment was clean and tidy overall, with excellent natural light and ventilation. The facilities were complete and new, making them very convenient to use. The location was also super convenient, with all necessary amenities nearby, making getting around a breeze. The host/manager communicated promptly and was friendly, quickly resolving any issues. It was a comfortable and reassuring stay, offering incredible value for money. I'll definitely choose this place again next time and highly recommend it to everyone!

The location is great! It's in the city center, so taking a taxi anywhere isn't too far, and there's a subway station within walking distance, which makes getting around super convenient. Since I was staying for 4 nights, the front desk was very thoughtful and upgraded me to a room with a small window. The cleanliness and service were both excellent, and the front desk staff patiently helped me find my package. What I liked most was the large table in the room – perfect for eating takeout and doing makeup comfortably. The HUAZHU mini-program or app is super handy for checking if the washing machine and dryer are in use and for setting up completion reminders. The only minor drawback was the strange bathroom layout in my room type; the door almost hit the toilet when opened, and the toilet itself was crooked. The glass partition door for the shower was blocked behind the first bathroom door, leaving very little space to move around. It was genuinely inconvenient, and I forgot to take a picture.

This ECharm Hotel near Nanzhou Subway Station was such a pleasant surprise! The location is fantastic, making getting around a breeze. The room was meticulously clean, and all the facilities were new and worked perfectly. The service was warm and attentive, the environment was quiet, and the price was excellent. Overall, it was a very comfortable experience and definitely worth coming back to.

Good location (near Beijing Road walking street) with convenient access to eateries, shopping, etc. Adventurous travellers can looks up local map apps and navigate their way around for further places to find more food. The hotel is great (clean, counter & cleaning staff are friendly, has a bare bones gym with access at your request to counter staff), but a little pricier than what I would expect for Guangzhou. Lift is shared with the block, so it can be a little troublesome at times when other users of the block are heading up. Overall, it is hard to have anything to complain about. Choosing this hotel for my trip to Guangzhou's Xiguan area was definitely the right decision. The location is absolutely fantastic – I highly recommend it for anyone planning to visit Shamian Island or Yongqingfang! Transportation is incredibly convenient; it's just a few minutes' walk to Ximenkou subway station, and multiple bus routes are right downstairs. Getting to major attractions around the city is a breeze, saving both time and effort. The hotel is perfectly situated between two popular spots. Shamian Island, with its European-style buildings and riverside walks, is only a 20-minute walk away, perfect for taking atmospheric photos. Yongqingfang is about a 30-minute walk, making it super easy to snap a picture with the iconic Moon Bridge, explore the Xiguan arcades, and savor authentic Cantonese snacks. When you're tired from exploring, you can easily pop back to the hotel to rest. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent. The front desk staff were warm and helpful, even proactively recommending local eateries. Downstairs, you'll find a street full of long-standing dim sum restaurants and dessert shops, offering a one-stop experience of old Guangzhou's vibrant local life. Overall, the value for money is outstanding, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Guangzhou!

Location: it's right in the middle of Tianhe, next to the amazing Grandview Mall, and its attractions such as the aquarium, rainforest, science and natural history museums, snow world, and a huge amount of shopping and eating. You could literally spend several days in here, which would be a great place to escape the summer heat. Next door is more upmarket Parc Central and Tee Mall, and over the road is Fashion Tianhe, where the local young people hang out. The hotel itself is in the same building as the Marriott hotel; Marriott hotel occupies the lower 22 floors, whilst this apartment hotel occupies the upper 16 floors. It's also a mixed use building, so as well as self contained apartments, there are plenty of small businesses, such as hairdressers, nail salons, massage, optician, and music studio in the apartments next door too. You need to take two different lifts to get to your apartment - annoying, but not a deal-breaker. There's also nothing close by that is open before 10am, except for the Starbucks downstairs. Apartment: a fairly standard apartment, with bedrooms and a lounge with small dining area. Kitchenette had a microwave, induction hob, washing machine and dishwasher. There were, however, no pots or pans, no plates or bowls, and a grand total of 3 tiny tea cups and 2 spoons and 2 forks. There were also two chairs for our 2 bedroom apartment's dining table. A slightly better equipped self contained apartment would have made the stay better. The rest of the apartment is fairly bare too. A small sofa, sideboard, and coffee table, and a TV that didn't work well. The downstairs bedroom is pretty small but fit a double bed with no space to walk around, whilst the upstairs one had more space. Cleanliness: there place itself was pretty clean. Although the peeling wallpaper and water damage stains made it look less so. Value: it's about 1/3 of the cost of the Marriott downstairs, and you get a whole apartment rather than a room. This makes it much better value than the hotel. Whether you want this basic apartment, or a nice hotel, is a personal choice dependant on your budget. Overall: a basic apartment in a very nice central location. Amenities are very sparse, but overall it's good value.

The hotel room was spotless and well-equipped. The breakfast offered a great variety, and the location was super convenient, just a 3-minute walk to Taojin subway station. CC at the front desk was incredibly warm and helpful. Excellent value for money, a perfect stay!
