The rooms were lovely and had everything we needed. The pool was divine. Great idea to have 2 separate pools to ensure adequate access for all guests.
Breaky buffet was delish. Cocktails also amazing.
Easy walk to the beach, markets, Bangla walking street, and everything inbetween.
Only downside is there isnt enough sun lounges by the pool as many people go out early and reserve them with towels, leaving it difficult for people who are actually jn the pool to use them.

KKLorraineOverall, it was a very good stay. Orn was nice and accommodating and even helped move me to a higher floor the next day. Berna from the restaurant was also friendly and took the time to chat, which was really nice.
The room was refreshed while I was out during the day, which was great, but it would’ve been helpful to be informed beforehand since my personal belongings were left around.
Just a small note — the bathrobe wasn’t set up initially, and only two pillows were provided for a room meant for two guests, so I had to request extra pillows.

GGuest UserWhile exploring, I noticed other hotels, but I still found this one to have the best location. There are plenty of restaurants, two night markets, numerous massage parlors, laundromats, and two 7-Elevens nearby – it's really convenient for wandering around. It's also very close to Kata Beach, about a 700m walk, and the Cliff Cafe is also a short walk away, roughly 700m.
The service was great, especially the male staff. They always greeted us when we saw them. We didn't want a room facing the night market, and they kindly upgraded our room for free to one with a balcony facing the pool, even if it was the second-to-last room, haha.
The soundproofing was good; it wasn't noisy at all. There were quite a few Chinese guests staying here. The breakfast had a good variety: yogurt, bread, stir-fries, and various drinks. For this price, I think it's excellent value for money.
Even when we didn't put out the 'please clean' sign, the cleaning staff would still knock and ask if we wanted our room cleaned. If not, they would help us with water, change the trash bags, and take out the rubbish.
There's a small smoking area at the entrance and another by the pool.
I really liked this place. I stayed for seven days and highly recommend it to everyone.

GGuest UserWe had a fantastic stay at the Gig Hotel. The location is excellent - close to Jungceylon, shopping, restaurants, and everything you need. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and well appointed. Breakfast offered a large selection of choices each morning, which was a great start to the day.
One of the highlights was definitely the rooftop infinity pool. The sunset views from up there are absolutely amazing. There are also money exchange and laundry services within about 50 metres of the hotel, which made everything very convenient.
The entrance ramp is a little steep, but we still found it quite accessible with both a walking stick and a motorised wheelchair. The porters were also extremely eager to assist whenever needed.
What really made our stay special was the staff. From the front desk and customer service team to the cleaning and maintenance staff, everyone was always welcoming, cheerful, and willing to go out of their way to help. Their friendliness and attention to detail really stood out and made us feel genuinely valued as guests.
Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay and would happily return.

HHeleneHouThe hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the entire resort's tropical landscaping is very well-designed and spacious, with plenty of recreational areas that the kids loved. The sinks, showers, and toilets all drained smoothly; we didn't encounter the common problems often found in older hotels. For the soaring hotel prices in Phuket, this place offers pretty good value for money. If you turn right out of the hotel, there's a 7-Eleven about 200 meters away, and just a bit further past the 7-Eleven, there's a restaurant on the second floor called Surin Beach Restaurant, which serves decent food. It's only a 5-minute walk from the hotel to Surin Beach. On the far left of the beach, there's a semi-developed natural path. If you follow the signs and climb over the rocks for 15 minutes, you can reach Lion's Head Beach, which has even more beautiful scenery. You can see schools of colorful small fish and sardines without even needing to go on a boat trip.

AALESTAThe hotel is nice, secluded: there’s nothing much around it, which can be a good or a bad thing.
I loved the private sandy beach, now it’s high season, and yet there were maximum 10 people at a time. So it feels all for yourself.
I got upgraded and stayed in a little house with private pool and exit to the beach. Thanks for that.
BUT there were 3 things I didn’t like:
1. noise, I don’t know, probably air conditioning or pool cleaning machine of A NEIGHBOR HOUSE, not even mine. In my room the AC and the fridge were also loud, but I turned them off. Yet I could not turn off the neighbor’s ones. At night it was hard to sleep because of that sound.
2. the pool cleaning — mine didn’t have that. The water there is still , was not changes next day, and I am not sure if was changed before I arrived 🤷♀️ In the neighbor pool I can see the water is always floats and changes, in mine not.
3. Every time I bought something and wanted to pay with my card, I had to go to reception. Every meal, every cocktail. That was disturbing. It was my last day of my holiday and I was short on cash. I thought it wouldn’t be a problem to pay by card, I could do it. But every time I had to climb 7 staircases to do it.

GGuest UserCompared to two years ago, this experience was much worse. The service has deteriorated, and the facilities are old. There was peacock droppings on the paths that hadn't been cleaned, and many railings were broken. However, this is still the best place for snorkeling on Racha Island. If you don't care about the hardware and service and only focus on the scenery, this place is fine.
Cons:
1. The service has completely declined. I had to drag my luggage a long way, carrying it up and down, on and off boats, and it was very hot.
2. The speedboat seats were so cramped I couldn't stretch my legs, much narrower than a budget airline.
3. No fridge in the room. On a hot day, if you want cold drinks, you have to buy ice at the restaurant for 20 THB a cup.
4. Neither the lobby nor the restaurant had air conditioning, it was incredibly hot, especially during the 3 hours before check-in and 2 hours after check-out while waiting for the boat. It was boiling.
5. The air conditioning leaked and soaked the entire room.
6. No curtains, so the sun was shining directly on my face in the morning.
7. No phone in the room. To contact the front desk, I had to use my own mobile, which was inconvenient for everything.
8. The sofa was dirty.
9. The restaurant food wasn't very good. Other restaurants on the island are much better.
10. No beach access, getting to the beach was a hassle.
11. Don't go sea fishing here. It's 3000 THB for 2 hours, which is far worse than the 3000 THB for a whole day on Koh Lipe. Plus, the boat barely went out, and we basically caught nothing. The experience was terrible. Go to Koh Lipe for fishing; the service and experience are much better.
Pros:
1. Good snorkeling.
2. Chinese communication was fine throughout, no language barrier. Many Chinese tourists, so it was lively.
It's truly become unscrupulous since it changed to a Chinese owner. To save money, they've removed fridges, phones, and curtains. They're selling rooms that are basically unfinished shells with incomplete facilities and no regard for the user experience. All the thoughtful details that Thai hotels usually have are gone. There's a reason for the low rating here.

GGuest UserSpectacular views of the sea from the rooms make this resort a winner for feelings of peace and solitude. My room included a ceiling fan and a separate rain shower next to the bath tub. A massive free breakfast buffet starts the day for most guests, with changing options on a daily basis. Before breakfast I walked down the steep driveway to the private beach to swim either in the sea or the small pool next to it. At 7 am there is nobody around. One morning I took out a kayak (one hour free) which had stunning panoramic views. There are two swimming pools by the resort’s main building and both are delightful for swimming and relaxing.
Nothing much to do in the evening and the TV channel selection could be expanded with movie channels (e.g., HBO, Cinemax), educational channels like Discovery Asia, and nature channels like BBC Earth and Love Nature. I partook in a 90 minute herbal pack massage which was a bit pricy but very professional. Both lunch and dinner menus have sufficient variety of dishes and food quality was good. Staff were always helpful. In summary, Supalai Scenic Bay Resort is a wonderfully serene experience at a very reasonable room price.
