"This hotel boasts a prime location—it's a mere two-minute stroll to the famous Patong Beach. * The Room: The accommodations are impressively spacious and sparkling clean. The beds are incredibly comfortable, providing a sense of total relaxation. * Amenities: Everything you need is provided, including a kettle for hot water. It’s an ideal setup for couples looking for a romantic getaway; it definitely lived up to my expectations. * The Vibe: Despite being located right across from a food center and surrounded by vibrant cafes and bars, noise wasn't an issue. I was initially worried about the nightlife, but I actually had a very peaceful sleep. The housekeeper male staff is also friendly and quite helpful. Why It Stands Out: Compared to other hotels in the area, this place offers exceptional value for money. It feels like a reliable ”home base” for travelers, nestled in a beautiful part of town."

AAnonymous UserThe resort isn't very big, a rectangular area, and the villa section takes up a significant portion, so there's limited space for activities. BUT! There's a beautiful, uncrowded beach, haha! The coastline is very long, which is a huge plus. The rooms seem to have been renovated; they're a mix of new and old. For instance, some of the bathroom fixtures are clearly old, but the doors, windows, and furniture look new. At the very least, the grout and wall seams have been redone and look pristine. The air conditioning is incredibly efficient, and the room is well-insulated – even after being out with the power off for half the day, it's still chilly when you come back in. The room provides a clothes drying rack on the balcony for dripping wet clothes and swimsuits, which is a thoughtful touch. However, the BBQ buffet dinner, which costs over 2000 THB per person, doesn't include any basic beverages, only water. The BBQ items are so few you can count them on one finger, non-BBQ items on another finger, and desserts/fruits on a third finger. There were only two or three seafood options. My child is sensitive, so after removing what they couldn't eat, spicy dishes, and disliked flavors, there was almost nothing left! Can you believe we couldn't find two dishes they'd dare to eat from the entire buffet? The breakfast selection is much richer than the dinner buffet, and it's only a quarter of the price... but the dishes were exactly the same every day. After two days, we started missing 7-Eleven. This isn't some isolated island with supply difficulties; would it be so hard to come up with more rotating menus? Please offer more variety for guests staying multiple nights.

GGuest UserWe loved the overall experience as a family of four. It was only a short boat ride from Phuket. Although the beach was small, there was a private pool in our villa which we loved. We swam in the private pool when it was sunset. It was so pretty. The majority of the staff was also incredibly friendly, with almost every service available 24/7. Impressed by the friendliness of the staff at Naka Island Hotel. None of them went past us without smiling and greeting us, and almost everyone we met was ready to engage in little conversation to help us settle into the environment. It was so chilled all around, the surroundings and the accommodation, our nerves were rested for a good few days. Beautiful local excursions also available. We went on a little hike to Tad zoo beach which proved to be a little of an adventure because of the 30-min arduous walk for the kids. Once there, not only did we enjoy the beach chilled atmosphere, we got on jet skis with some discounts to the hotel prices too. Upon return to hotel, we jumped into the private pool overlooking the beach at sunset. An amazing experience hard to forget. Breakfast was exquisite. It had the blend of modern western food and local Thai food. The noodles were delicious, broth was excellent. Got a shoulder and back massage free of charge at the entrance to the veranda restaurant (breakfast restaurant) - knowing how much it would cost, it made my day. Would recommend the Muay Thai to anyone seeking a workout with a touch of Thai culture. The instructor was friendly and funny. He identified my daughter’s talent in the sport. When we go back to HK, I will have another perspective to work on.

LLvtu1688This hotel is a small, charming gem located in the southern part of Karon Beach. It's well-equipped with all the necessary amenities and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The beach is just a short walk downhill and across the road, and there's a 7-Eleven within walking distance as well. The front desk offers Chinese-speaking staff, and you can easily communicate with other staff members using basic English. The breakfast was the absolute highlight – predominantly Western, but every single dish was delicious, so there's no way you won't find something you love.

GGuest UserThis is a pretty good hotel, very convenient for shopping and dining around. The breakfast was just okay, a bit limited in variety, but edible. There's a female staff member from Hunan who is really nice. She proactively helped me at the front desk during check-in. Also, during check-in, there were staff members who helped with luggage. I stayed in a deluxe pool room for 6 days. The room was on the side of the hotel's main pool, in a two-story building. Both the first and second floors are fine. When I checked in, I asked the front desk for a quieter room. They asked if I preferred the first or second floor, and I chose the second floor. They gave us room 2251, which is the third closest to the beach on the second floor of that building. The first picture shows the ocean view from the room's balcony. The overall room size is very generous; the advertised area is accurate. It's much more honest than The Akara Hotel in Pattaya, which was the worst hotel I stayed at during my half-month trip. The discrimination against Chinese guests there was evident in every aspect. I want to praise Trip.com. I booked the room over half a month in advance, costing more than ten thousand (including tax). Later, I found out the room price had dropped. Trip.com contacted the hotel for me, processed it, and promptly refunded several thousand in price difference.

WWuyouwulvrenwoxingThe environment here is great, and it's very close to Kata Beach, just a few hundred meters away. The sand is incredibly fine and clean, and the seawater is crystal clear. The beachside stalls sell fruit at very fair prices; a large chilled young coconut is 60 baht, and a plate of cut fruit is 90 baht. You can easily spend an entire afternoon there. The service is excellent everywhere, from the hotel rooms and restaurant to the beach stalls. During Chinese New Year, the hotel even had special Chinese-themed performances, and the menu was thoughtfully designed to cater to Chinese customs. Absolutely perfect, can't fault it!

LLongdayingzhengThe room is very spacious with a beautiful view. The entire hotel is built on a mountain, so getting around isn't easy, but they do offer a shuttle service to the town below. Plus, there's a 7-Eleven right outside, which is super convenient. The cleanliness was a bit lacking, though; I found sand in the room upon check-in for some reason. All the staff, however, were very warm and attentive.

Ccheungchiho824The hotel is conveniently located near Patong's bar street, just a 2-3 minute walk away. Directly across from the hotel is the famous Number 6 restaurant, which offers good food at reasonable prices, averaging around 50-80 RMB per person. I booked a twin room, and to my surprise, the hotel assigned me a room with a balcony, which was perfect for drying clothes after two days of island hopping. The hotel service was great, though the soundproofing was a bit poor; I could often hear clear footsteps. The main issue was the lack of toothbrushes – when I asked at the front desk, they said they don't provide them, citing environmental awareness.

JJaniceTanMoved from Old Town to Patong. My experience in Old Town was superb, enjoyable and relaxing. As we were approaching Gig Hotel, my spirit took a deep plunge from excitement to anticlimax ! thought I had found a gem hotel after reading all the positive highly rated reviews. It was a total disaster and the start of my nightmares! The streets were lined with sleazy massage parlours and Muslim eateries. I thought I was in Middle East. It’s impossible to find authentic Thai cuisine in that vicinity, let alone any restaurant serving pork. Breakfast in hotel has no pork too. Receptionist gave wrong info of breakfast venue. Told us it’s at the rooftop but it’s actually on the first floor. Breakfast was always crowded and food not replenished after 10 am. 2 coffee machines but long line of queue as it takes forever to dispense a cup of coffee/drink. No informing prior to breakfast closure. Staff just started clearing everything abruptly. The chairs are another nuisance, so heavy that tends to hit the chair behind every time you get up. The whole tables and chairs setting was almost back-to-back, very tight and uncomfortable. The so called infinity pool was rather small and always packed as guests from Gu Hotel (located just opposite and under the same management) share hotel amenities. The gym was so pathetic with only a couple of equipment. Next, the room was oddly designed and poorly furnished. There’s nothing luxury about the room. In fact, it felt cheap, poorly designed with much wasted space. Apart from being spacious and having full amenities, everything else was mediocre. Same or 1 type of homogeneous tile for the whole room, including toilet and wet/shower areas so possibility of slipping hazards. The wardrobe and toilet share the same door and the track wasn’t smooth. Have to exert bull strength to open and close. In the end, we just left the door half opened. Too tedious to open and close. The main entrance door was also faulty. We had to push it real hard to level and lock it. No coffee table between the TV and sofa and no luggage stand. No view from balcony - faces the facade of the other rooms. Moreover it’s too hot to sit at the balcony with the air-con compressor running. Poor soundproofing, we got awakened by noisy housekeeping staff outside our room every morning! Good luck to those with big and heavy luggage. No porter at sight when we arrived and the only way to the reception is either a flight of stairs or a very steep ramp. The potter appeared after we processed our check-in and offered to help us with our luggage which we declined. Why should we tip him after lugging the flight of stairs? Checkout is strictly at 12 noon. For late checkout, additional charge applies. .We couldn’t wait to end our stay at Gig Hotel. How could this hotel be awarded 4*? The only plus point is, it’s near Jungceylon.

MMaddog220This is a small boutique and budget hotel located within 10 mins walking distance to the Patong Beach and nightlife in Bangla walking street. The location is great and close to many local eateries and massages and spa. The hotel is jaded but at least it’s clean and the basic amenities are there to ensure a safe and comfortable environment to sleep overnight. The walls are thin and not soundproof as you can hear your neighbours’ loud conversations late into the night, though there are not much noises from the streets. The swimming pool is not well maintained and non-usable during my stay there (see last picture). The free breakfast buffet is simple and the same every morning and they are mostly western-styled menu and nothing to shout about. I would only recommend this hotel to budget travellers who is not fussy and spend most of their time out except to come back to sleep at night.
