YYuhanxiaojiejieFacilities: The hotel is very new, both the software and hardware are up to par, meeting the star rating standards. Hygiene: I absolutely trust the hygiene in Macau, no issues there. Environment: The environment is great, smells lovely, thumbs up. Service: In terms of service, the only thing is that check-in at the lobby was a bit slow, even though it wasn't peak season. Hope they can improve on that, but the service itself was otherwise flawless.
EEnhengenhengenhengABCFirst, the positives: The shower facilities are better than anything I've experienced in Japan, with bath salts and oils available, and excellent water pressure. The view from the window is absolutely stunning, and the service recovery is on point. When an issue arose, the assistant front office manager promptly came to my room to discuss and resolve it.
Now for the negatives: They haggled with me over extra bath towels and refused to provide them. I requested a firmer pillow three times within half an hour, but each time I was met with excuses. Finally, the butler claimed to have forgotten due to being busy, and brought a disgusting small pillow stuffed into a large pillowcase, which looked dirty and ugly. This really tarnishes the hotel's luxurious image. The compensatory fruit they sent wasn't prepared at all – just a pile dumped on the table, completely inedible unless I prepared it myself! Only the complimentary champagne had enough ice, making it the only thing consumable. The chocolates were also terrible!
When I requested a late check-out, they refused three times, only eventually extending it from 11 AM to 11:30 AM. Although I eventually spoke to a manager and resolved it, this kind of experience feels more exhausting than staying at a small domestic motel. If you're not particularly keen on showers and baths, and aren't impressed by scenic views, then this hotel's value for money and service quality are just average.
TTuzi1030We came to Macau for our anniversary this time. We stayed at Studio City's Celebrity Tower first, then the W. The contrast was so stark that I absolutely had to leave a glowing review for Celebrity Tower.
Before checking in, I sent an email hoping they could help decorate for our anniversary. When we opened the room door, the bed was thoughtfully decorated with rose petals and towel-folded swans. The room was a basic suite, very spacious and beautiful. My girlfriend loved the bathtub and vanity area. What was most touching was that the Housekeeping Manager sent us a handwritten anniversary card and a small pony plushie – it was incredibly heartwarming.
On the day of checkout, we went for a swim, and the hotel proactively extended our checkout until 1 PM. When I returned to the room after swimming, I found staff members waiting at our door with a luggage cart. They helped us load our bags onto the cart one by one and carefully delivered them downstairs. The butler stayed with us the whole time, waiting for us to sign off on the handover, and then personally accompanied us all the way to the W Hotel. Since the two hotels are not interconnected, the butler specifically explained, 'I need to go with you to ensure a smooth luggage transfer' – such attention to detail completely exceeded our expectations.
Compared to the W where we stayed afterwards (they mixed up our anniversary with a birthday, offered perfunctory compensation, and only gave us an hour for late checkout), Celebrity Tower truly made us feel 'at home'. Their service isn't just going through the motions; they genuinely treat you like a valued guest. From now on, whenever we come to Macau, Celebrity Tower will be our only choice.
Thank you to the butler and the housekeeping team; you made our anniversary truly special.
GGuest UserFrom the moment I checked in, I experienced thoughtful and attentive service. A special shout-out to Val for the warm welcome; they helped me with my luggage to the room and gave a detailed introduction to all the room's amenities. The room itself was clean and tidy. It was a truly memorable stay.
CCarey LoyAltira Macau provides an experience that justifies its reputation, particularly for those who value service over superficial flair. During a four-night stay, the property maintained a high standard of cleanliness and operational efficiency that is becoming increasingly rare in larger integrated resorts.
The convenience of the location allows for easy access to the surrounding area without being trapped in the chaotic atmosphere of the Cotai Strip, making it a more sophisticated choice for a multi-night visit.
What truly distinguishes the hotel is the execution of their service. The staff managed a birthday surprise for my wife with genuine care rather than a scripted checklist. Seeing her reaction to the effort they put in made it clear that this team understands how to personalize an experience. If you are looking for a stay that prioritizes the guest’s emotional experience as much as the technical details of hospitality, this is the place.
Plan to improve your travel standards:
1. Mindset: Stop viewing hotel stays as just a bed and a shower. A four-night stay is a significant investment of time. Look for properties that offer ”anticipatory service” like you experienced here.
2. Action: When traveling for milestones, always provide specific details about preferences well in advance. Altira delivered here, but you can maximize these results elsewhere by being the architect of the surprise.
3. Strategy: Prioritize boutique-style luxury over massive resorts. The attention to detail you found at Altira is often lost in 2,000-room hotels. Stay where the staff has the bandwidth to care about your specific itinerary.
MMichelle liewI would give this property more stars, if I could.., just for how every staff member I’ve met made me feel welcome, cared for and important.
From the moment we stepped out of our taxi, Tim (a very handsome young man) welcomed us and took care of our luggage’s, walked us up to the check in counter and warmly introduced us to Ryan.
Ryan helped us with the check in and immediately made us feel like friends, not just guests. He found us a lovely room (1615 has amazing view) albeit before check in time, helped us orientate around the hotel and Cotai strip, invited us to the champagne ceremony at 6pm and happy hour at The St Regis bar, recommended a lovely restaurant for Macanese food at Taipa Village and of course, walked us to the lift. Behind the scene, he has arranged for Tim to get our luggage sent to the room. It’s a nice gesture to have our luggage’s nicely set up before we got in.
Later in the evening, we met Douglas, Hotel GM who hosted us to many different cocktails and mocktails creations at The St Regis Bar. Again, he made us feel like friends, engaging in light conversation while enjoying the relaxed ambience with delicious snacks and drinks. I must recommend cotton club - with the honey comb. Credit goes to Douglas, who led his team to make a difference with every interaction across the hotel.
After lunch, we returned to our room to a pleasant surprise. An introduction card and fruit platter from The Butler. Nice touch. I would have requested for a butler drawn bath if we have more time
At dinner, Jonathan and his team, Pat and Niles made it just delightful. Every detail was thoughtfully executed - the food (go for beef cheek), ambience and service came together beautifully. We also appreciated the nice gesture of a welcome back dessert and printed photo to bring home at the end of the meal.
The next day, seamless check out. Tim assisted us with the taxi and luggages. And as we waited for the taxi, Tim excused himself for a short while and came back with the box of almond cookies (Macao’s specialty) for us to bring home!
St Regis really aced at making us feel at home and among friends. We’ll definitely be back soon.
BBenchideyanzhiyaMandarin Oriental Macau truly stands out in the luxury hotel market with its unique 'no casino' policy, unparalleled sea views, legendary Asian service, and top-notch dining and spa facilities. This time, I brought my 88-year-old mother for a holiday, and we even captured the most beautiful sunset over the sea.
The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious; we enjoyed both the Chinese and Western pastries. We also indulged in the hotel's sea salt bubble bath and booked a handmade essential oil soap workshop. Our sole purpose was to revel in the tranquility, elegance, and full sea-view environment – a peaceful escape within the bustling city of Macau.
XXiaofeitutu4424Stayed at the nearby W Hotel during the Qingming Festival to watch the World Cup. The price was quite high, but it's only a few minutes' walk from the Galaxy Arena. It's just one light rail stop from Hengqin Port. Honestly, the hotel lobby is quite small and hard to find, and the rooms are pretty standard. However, the service was decent; check-in and luggage storage were quick. The restaurant staff were also very friendly, and breakfast had a wide variety of options. From the Cotai room, you can see The Parisian, and the night view is lovely. There's also an airport shuttle bus stop just a two-minute walk downstairs, which is very convenient.
JJW23Environment: This is truly Macau's only beachfront estate. The hotel opens right onto Hac Sa Beach, with panoramic sea views from all sides. Stepping onto the balcony, you're greeted by the endless ocean, and you can practically taste the South China Sea in every breath.
Hygiene: Top-notch hygiene. The room was immaculately clean and very comfortable.
Service: Perfect for family trips. Kids can play with children from all over the world at the 2nd-floor Club, which is a truly unique experience.
ZZailvtuzhongdelaoliuThe lobby seating area on the first floor felt a bit small, with only a few chairs. However, the rooms are very spacious, especially for Macau standards. The hallways and elevators were clean and tidy. The room service staff on the sixth floor were very enthusiastic. I booked two non-smoking rooms, but one of them had a strong cigarette smell upon check-in. I called room service, and they quickly brought an air freshener to deal with it, although a slight odor lingered.
