"Lovely hotel, very warm friendly staff, great vegan breakfast! (Little let down with hot water and lemon request when asked for tea/coffee but never turned up?) Wish I had dinner there, next time I will. Room was good but is looking like a bit of work is needed, ie bath seal could be redone and the shower glass rubber, slow draining, dead spider that’s been there since opening? Bed was comfy, WiFi was hit and miss, room unfortunately had rubbish on the floor next to bin/door (empty milk for tea) and also bin was not empty and had rubbish in it. Yes there’s parts that are not the greatest and mostly room related but doesn’t outweigh the great food, the great staff (maybe not so great cleaning staff?) and the great service received. Overall I would stay again."

"Booked a room and evening meal. Check in was straightforward and receptionist was professional. Gave advice on breakfast time and where room was located. Room was spacious and thankfully not too hot. Thw bathroom had an extractor fand that kept.going about 15 mins after the light had been turned off! Bed was really comfy, not too soft and duvet was warm. Plenty of pillows :) There was 2 free bottles of water and a coffee machine with pods, I did not use this but water in a fridge was appreciated. Towels were clean and bathroom radiator was hot so towels were nice and warm. Free toiletries in the bathroom but I had taken my own so didn't use them. The lights in the hallways have motion sensors so the hallway are a bit dark when you first walk into them. The evening meal was with my work group and results varied. Most people enjoyed but personally I didn't. The soup I got was half cold and the other side of the bowl was warm. The mushroom stroganoff was lacking taste and the apple and cinnamon crumble was most cinnamon. I have eaten here before and enjoyed but was not impressed this time. It was quite busy and the staff seemed overworked as no one came to ask if we were OK or if we needed drinks and I did have to wave people over a few times. The reception area is also the bar. Its obviously a popular pub as it was crowded but maybe they should have more staff on, the same people seemed to be dealing with check in, diners and bar drinks. Just seemed a bit disorganised. The drinks here were nice and decently priced. They also do large 250ml wine, unlike a lot of places nowadays. Breakfast the next morning was great, good coffee and hot food. Check out was simple, just hand your key card back. I would stay here again but might not have the evening meal!"

The Ironworks Aparthotel Hotels in Telford

The Ironworks Aparthotel

"booked the Ironworks Aparthotel for 4 nights. I selected this venue because the rooms seemed spacious, the location was relatively close to the conference I was attending and the price seemed reasonable. The Ironworks Aparthotel team have tried to think of so many ways to put the customer first and anticipate their needs. Firstly, the reservation process was simple and straightforward. I did not have to pay for the room straight away and I received a reminder that payment was due close to specified time indicated in during the reservation process. I received my check-in details the day before arrival. This process was easy also consisting of a key code for the main entrance and a numbered lockbox for my room. The room (5) I was given was very well appointed as shown in the pictures. The rooms appear to be as indicated by the photographs on the website. It consisted of a kitchen (complete with dishes, cups, glasses, refrigerator, small hob, air fryer, soaps, dishcloths, etc); everything needed to make yourself breakfast in the morning or a meal in the evening. The only downside is that this particular room did not really have a comfortable place to sit and eat the meal (it looks like other rooms are larger and have a designated space for that). The room was very nicely decorated with calming grey, green, blue colours throughout. The furniture looked new with lots of cupboard and storage throughout. The shower was clean and nice. Whilst the shower pressure was good enough, the temperature was hot and you didn’t have to wait long. So it came as complete surprise to me that the bed was so awful. The foot of the mattress was higher than the head (I wish I had taken a photo), and when I sat down, I just sank. The bed was very soft and unsupportive. The pillows on the other hand were great - thick and comfortable. But sadly, 3 nights on poor mattress was all I could take. When I expressed direct feedback to the Aparthotel team after I left, this was the response I got back (within a couple of hours)… “I do wish you had let me know, we really are here to help and do care and prepared to put things right, whatever it is. We always would greatly appreciate the opportunity to put it right. I have a local mattress supplier who could have delivered a king mattress the same day and we would have had the bed remade the very same day. This will now happen on Monday and no one will stay in that room until it’s been replaced. It’s a small business that we’re truly very proud of and we’re genuinely pleased that you’ve let us know.” Having read this, I regret not reaching out to them to see if they have could fixed the problem. They are there to help and based on this response, I would recommend this place and encourage anyone who stays here to call them if you have any issues at all. They really want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. In fact I plan on booking again should I be in this area. They have done a really good job."

Hadley Park House Hotel ★★★★
"We had our wedding here on the 24.05.26 and also stayed here for 2 nights and I don’t even know where to start. The wedding Co-Ordinator's are brilliant, Tara was our personal co-ordinator and I can’t thank her enough for the level of detail and energy she put into our day from the start of our wedding journey to our wedding day itself but Amanda was just as fabulous and helpful when we interacted with her they both work so well together and are very well communicated that you have nothing to worry about if the other is on leave they are sure to send any details and messages across. We also married outside which was a last minute change (less than 24 hours) with our wedding day hitting high’s of 29 they both recommended it would be cooler than the conservatory and you would not have even have known it was a change in plans everything was smooth and well prepared and they had us and our guests in mind at all times. The rest of the Hadley park House staff are also brilliant they are kind, approachable and all know exactly what they are doing we had interactions with many and always got the answers to questions answered quickly. I stayed there as the bride the night before the wedding and my stay was comfortable there was a wedding on the night before mine and the hotel were booked out but I had no issues with sleep or with noise - the room was air conditioned and cool and the bed was comfortable. The night of our wedding we had chosen to stay in the older main building and this doesn’t not have air con so I would highly recommend if your getting married in months that could be on the warm side to really think about where you want to stay the night of your wedding and if air con is something you would appreciate. (room 4 mattress was also firmer and I did struggle with my back compared to the room where I stayed the night before my wedding room 18 but we asked to stay in this room when we first booked unknown to the firmness of the mattress - but another way of showing Hadley do everything they can to accommodate your request) I honestly have no negatives regarding my 2 night stay or my wedding day. Everyone commented on how well run and how beautiful the hotel is in itself. I just want to say a huge thank you to the wedding co-ordinators and all the staff at Hadley Park House you are a fabulous team and the dedication you put into helping your guests and running special events goes a long way."

Mercure Telford Centre Hotel ★★★★
"Clean, comfortable hotel in a very good location for the train and shopping centre. A small but reasonable gym and a bonus to have the swimming/sauna facilities although the pool and jacuzzi were a little on the small side so often quite full. Staff were friendly and helpful when approached. Parking charges seemed a little expensive which was a bit of a put-off for driving there and the walk-in shower wasn’t great as water got all over the floor because the glass piece wasn’t really long enough to contain the water. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would stay there again if in the area."

"Stayed one night before meeting family for bank holiday weekend. Room was clean but a sewage smell from shower, my partner checked drain and no trap in shower so smells coming up. For convenience booked a table in the restaurant, the portions were tiny, vegetables were half a carrot and a spoonful of cabbage, on complaining we received a bowl of mixed vegetables. Room faced the front so noise from bar until 11.00 but after that okay and slept well. Lovely waitress on at breakfast, very helpful. Breakfast was so good, one of the best full English I've eaten anywhere. Decided to book a table for lunch on Sunday as my brother had been before, sadly it was very average, roast potatoes hard and vegetables cold. When it came to paying the bill it was a nightmare, both myself and my son we charged wayover and had to request the manager to check. Eventually mine was corrected but he somehow managed to charge my daughter in law £139 twice for a meal costing £55 !! Due to bank Holiday weekend we are still awaiting the refund to go into our bank account. The worst thing being there was no apology whatsoever. All I will say is if you decide to go there definitely check your bill"
