"I liked the location, the nature, the mountain river, and the trout there. My husband wanted to try living in the village, to get a feel for how they used to live. For me, it was a nightmare. It wasn't my thing at all. The house was cold, there was a strange smell, and there was no separate bathroom, just a shared washroom. Ugh. There are no bed sheets provided; you have to sleep on blankets and a mattress. You have to be prepared for that! This is my personal opinion, my feeling! My husband liked it, but I didn't. I stayed for two nights, and I simply couldn't sleep. The hosts are lovely people, kind, and always smiling."

"Very calm and quiet location, beautiful nature. Big and clean room. Onsen is a little bit small, but cozy. Interesting traditional dinner, but it would be more convenient if there was a text description of the dishes. It's hard to figure it out if you're trying it all for the first time."

"The food, baths, and service were all better than I expected. You can see Ryusenji Temple in Kawagoe from the dining area. There's a craft beer shop and a tofu shop nearby. There's a luxury shuttle to the parking lot. Mount Koya is nice, but I prefer this place."
