"On a self-drive trip from Mount Cook towards Queenstown, we chose this motel for our overnight stay. Parking was convenient and check-in was a breeze. They took a 200 NZD deposit per room per night and even gave us fresh milk. The room facilities were incredibly new and spacious, and it even had a backyard (though not enclosed, so accessible to others). The washer-dryer combo was very convenient to use. There's also a large supermarket about 300 meters away."

"It’s a very new motel, it’s very clean and new. Very spacious with good size kitchen and living room. For same amount of spending, I would rather stay in this motel than the hotel. Location is good as well, access to supermarket and restaurants in 5 minutes walk. Since it’s new, there’s a smell of paint, not ideal but not very strong and acceptable."

"We had a good two night stay at Distinction Mackenzie Country Hotel. It was well located and an easy drive to the attractions of Mount Cook Aotaki. The hotel was also well placed for our subsequent drive to Queenstown. The room was spacious and clean and we enjoyed a comfortable stay."
