Hotel de Cambis, BW Premier Collection

Hotel de Cambis, BW Premier Collection

📍 89 Rue Joseph Vernet, Avignon
★★★★ 9.1 (84 reviews)

"What a pleasant surprise this hotel was! It has a modern South of France style with a charming pink and green color scheme. First off, the location is absolutely superb – right on the main street of the old town. It's only a 6-minute walk to the train station and less than 10 minutes to the Papal Palace. Plus, the tourist information center is just across the street. Secondly, the breakfast was fresh and plentiful. You could taste the freshness of the ingredients, and their homemade dessert cakes were absolutely delicious – even I, someone who usually avoids sweets, couldn't resist having a few extra bites! The dining area, with its pink and green decor, offered a lovely atmosphere to enjoy breakfast while gazing at the medieval buildings outside the window. So relaxing! The standard room wasn't huge but perfectly functional and spotlessly clean. But the most important thing is how incredibly helpful the hotel staff was. When I was out on a tour and realized my wallet (with my IDs inside) was missing, I was in a panic and called the hotel for help. The manager immediately went to my room twice to check and confirmed that both of my wallets were there. Do you understand that feeling of immense relief after being in despair? When you're traveling and run into problems, having reliable help is crucial. I'm so grateful and touched! I put a lot of thought into writing this, and I wholeheartedly give it a 100% recommendation!"

Residhotel Golf Grand Avignon

Residhotel Golf Grand Avignon

📍 220 Chem. de la Blanchère, Vedene
★★★ 8.9 (136 reviews)

"This was a fantastic location to stay close to Avignon, but with easy parking and spacious rooms. It is secured at night with closed gates, and the rooms look over the golf course. The host at reception was welcoming and helpful and the rooms were spacious, and well laid out. They are a little tired in terms of decor, which shows in places like the tile grout and wear on benchtops, but it was inexpensive, clean and excellent value for money. I recommend it and would book it again."

"It has a castle, monastery, church, and restaurant! The facilities are also very modern, making it a truly fantastic experience. I would definitely come again! I suggest using navigation to avoid the parking lot; the main entrance is closer, only 200 meters from the bus stop!"

Les Loges du Luberon Hotels in Vaucluse

Les Loges du Luberon

"AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The check-in was rushed and barely acceptable, the room was located in a construction zone and this wasn't mentioned when booking. The room was freezing cold upon arrival and the patio door didn't close properly; it was warped. The only suggestion offered was to seal the patio door with a towel – unbelievable for a supposedly 3-star hotel. To top it all off, no compensation was offered, nor was any given. I'll let you be the judge of such practices, which are solely aimed at raking in money without a single thought for the customer's well-being and with absolutely no respect."

"Nice Hotel in quiet village location but was ideal for our wedding at a local chateau. Room was nice and pool area very pleasant as weather was boiling. Didn't eat here so can't comment on food. Nice little piazza 5 mins walk away. Staff here very pleasant."

Le Pré du Moulin - Maison Alonso - Hôtel & Restaurant Hotels in Vaucluse

Le Pré du Moulin - Maison Alonso - Hôtel & Restaurant

"The hotel is beautiful and the management/owner staff are accommodating and helpful. It is the restaurant which is a problem. Staff are inexperienced. For example the younger members simply not knowing the amount of wine wine to give for a glass. This differed from 75ml to 250ml and all for the same price. Quite off putting. The food was well overpriced for the quality. It was just okay but you could be easily fooled into thinking it is fine dining by the price of 59 euros and 79 euros for a 3 course menu and the atmosphere it gives off. Believe me it isn’t. I actually returned my main course as it wasn’t good at all. The fish my partner had was of good quality but sadly ruined by being served skin side up with a sauce on top, resulting in the skin wobbly slimy and inedible. Not as it should be."

"Beautiful, poorly managed hotel with a very good location directly opposite the exit from the Pope's Palace. The old rooms and facilities are worth seeing and very stylish, our room had a great view. Our room was one of the nicest we have stayed in in Europe. The service, however, leaves a lot to be desired, especially for the price of the night. We spent two nights here, had to look for employees several times each evening to be able to place our orders in the bar and then had to deal with unfriendly and unmotivated employees. Cocktails were good, food in the bar - again for the price and hotel category - miserable. The rooms and old sofas in the bar are worth a visit, however. The selection at breakfast is just adequate if you can get past the chic presentation of the buffet, and the quality is not remarkable either. The breakfast room, however, is again impressive and atmospheric. The hotel is overrun with tourists from outside the area for the daily afternoon tea, so if you're lucky you can get a table as a hotel guest, but then on both days there was only a limited selection of the cake menu, as everything was already sold out and not just at a late hour. And here too you can wait forever for unfriendly service! The rooms were very well maintained, and the chambermaids were friendly and helpful. We wouldn't recommend staying more than one night here, but it's good for a visit to the Pope's Palace. Make sure you ask for the route map before you arrive, it's very helpful and absolutely necessary for the narrow one-way streets in the old town! But it makes getting there easy."

Hotel de Cambis, BW Premier Collection ★★★★
"The hotel has an excellent location with convenient transportation, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. However, the soundproofing facing the street isn't great; there was noise from city cleaning vehicles around 4 or 5 AM. Also, the bath towels weren't changed daily during our three-night stay."

"Welcome from the very friendly host; wide room accommodation with a room attached: attention to only a small step between the two rooms!! Breakfast is varied and abundant even if we, by an inveterated habit, only consume a little of the sweet part. "

Hôtel Le Cloître Saint Louis ★★★★
"Very good intramuros location for visiting Avignon. Very beautiful building located 4 minutes walk from Avignon Center train station and 11 minutes walk from the Palais des Papes. Good bedding. Welcome swimming pool. We changed rooms 3 times, air conditioning breakdown at 35°...too many stairs. Bathrooms much too small with bathtub even in upgraded rooms. Faded paintwork in the rooms. No one at the bar during our week-long stay. Elevators often broken down. Lack of attention to outdated personal breakfast. I think this hotel deserves 3*** and not 4**** as indicated."
