"The Baer House Inn is an absolute treasure that exceeded all my expectations. If you appreciate the 1800s, you will truly love this place; it does not disappoint. The attention to detail in the entire house is incredible—easily 95% authentic 19th-century; furniture, curtains, and an extensive library filled with period-appropriate books. It felt like walking onto a movie set, but with a perfect balance of modern comfort. The only 5% of modern conveniences, like the comfortable mattress, pillows, linens, towels, bathroom, WiFi, Bluetooth music speaker, small fridge and TV, were seamlessly integrated and very much appreciated along with impeccable cleanliness. The staff truly made the stay memorable. Latanya, the manager, was exceptional—the most pleasant and attentive host I have ever encountered. I wanted for nothing; she took care of everything from the moment I arrived. I was also greeted with a smile by Johnny, the groundskeeper/maintenance guy, who was very welcoming. I have specific food allergies, and Latanya and Larry the chef went above and beyond to accommodate me. Larry made me an outstanding breakfast, including a fresh fruit cup and perfect over-easy eggs on top of delicious sourdough bread, making sure everything was safe for me to eat. If you have the privilege of meeting Latonya’s son, Jaylin, you will never be the same. He is 100% happy and just makes you happy, a true joy to be around. The only negative thing I can possibly say is that I don’t get to live there! I had to leave, but I will go back as often as possible. There is still hope for the world with a house and staff like that."

Corners Mansion Inn - A Bed and Breakfast

"Wife and me stayed at the Corners for two nights during a trip following Mississippi river from north to south. We dropped in spontaneously and, lucky us, got the big master bedroom in the main mansion at least for a night. Second night was in the neighboring building almost as good. Quite an experience it was, I love these old houses virtually breathing history. The Lady of the house showed us through and gave some good tips to discover the area around Vicksburg. Our rooms were first class, we felt like in a Hollywood movie. Every Morning comes a fantastic homestyle, southern breakfast. Would drop in again every time, absolutely no complain."

"I stayed for two nights. The staff - all of them! - are really nice, personable and helpful. There is a well stocked shop in the lobby for heat-up meals and snacks. I made use of the free laundry - new LG machines - to catch up on laundry. Note that there are problems with the EV chargers (that has nothing to do with the hotel) so you should not book solely on the basis of being able to charge your car. Fortunately there is a Tesla supercharger site closeby that will also charge non-Teslas. From my call to EVBOLT, the EV charger supplier, it seems they’ll are aware of the problems in their network and have a plan to fix it"

"Absolutely fantastic! Located in the heart of historic Vicksburg, Steele's Cottage is charming and filled with history -- truly a walk back into the last century. If only walls could talk! It is also only about a 5-minute drive to the National Historic Military Park, which is well worth a visit. Vicksburg was everything a civil war history geek like myself could hope for! The room was immaculate and filled with historical tidbits! The property manager (Tonya) was excellent and beyond helpful when a problem about reservation dates went cross-ways. (Totally my fault -- I entered them wrong). Breakfast was delicious, and served in the beautiful Duff Green mansion. The tour of that historic home afterward was very interesting! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we extended our stay another day, and will not hesitate to return and/or recommend to others."
