Aspiring Lodge Motel
"Close to supermarket, eateries and the lake. Basic night stays after you enjoy yourself outdoors all day long."
Edgewater Hotel
"Facilities: The selected suite had excellent facilities, including cooking amenities, a dishwasher, and a washer-dryer combo. Service: I stayed for two nights, and it's clearly a very popular place. On the first night, I was assigned room 301, which, as shown in the picture, had a corner window directly facing the parking lot. The next morning, I spoke with the front desk attendant about changing rooms. Since they were fully booked, I was eventually moved to room 703, which faced a small pond. They even left a thoughtful card and some chocolates. Overall, the hotel environment was good. It's a short walk to the Lone Tree and an acceptable distance from the town center."
Hampshire Holiday Parks – Wanaka
"This independent studio room within the RV park is quite spacious, and while the soundproofing isn't great, it offers excellent value for money! The kitchen is well-equipped with all the necessary utensils, including salt and pepper, so you can easily cook your own dinner. It has a private toilet and shower, but only soap is provided, so you'll need to bring your own toiletries. The bed is quite comfortable. We visited in mid-May, and it was very cold, but there was an electric heater and two electric blankets, although one of them wasn't working. There are very few power outlets. You can park your car right in front of the unit. There's a laundry room in another nearby area, costing 6 NZD per wash and 6 NZD for 60 minutes of drying. There's also a communal kitchen. The location is right in the city center, with many restaurants nearby. It's very close to Wanaka Tree and the lake, both within walking distance."
Oakridge Resort Lake Wanaka

Marina Terrace Apartments, Wanaka
"This place is the best, Karen the host was amazing. There were no rooms available with 2 beds when i rang to enquire about booking but Karen did all that she could and jiggled things around to make it work for us to stay for my mums birthday. The rooms are super clean and had the best views of the lake and mountains. Having a washing machine and dryer available for use was great aswell. We loved everything about this place and are already planning on making our way back there in a few months."
Mishika Retreat and Lodge
"My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the Sanctuary Suite at Mishika Retreat and Lodge for 3 nights in July 2026. Given this accomodation had only opened for approximately 6 weeks, there were limited reviews, so we booked this without much expectations. However, we were incredibly surprised and thus I wanted to be one of the first to leave a full proper review myself. Immediately upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the host, Abhishek, who gave us a tour around the house as well as many tailored suggestions on how to best spend our time in Wanaka, including hikes, places to eat and things to do. We then spent the following days having ongoing wonderful conversations with him and his team as they were always around to be a friendly face, work and have lovely chats. Honestly speaking, this is one of the loveliest accomodations I’ve ever stayed in, to the point that I would happily live here for the rest of my life. Unlike other accomodations which provide the barebones for travel (ie bed, bathroom, amenities and room), it is clear that Abishek and his team have poured their heart and soul into making Mishika Lodge a true “home away from home” experience. As a guest you can choose to rent a room or the entire lodge, but regardless, you have full access to the lounge, dining room, kitchen, entertainment room, garden, hot spa (readily heated to 39C!) and pool, all of which are shared spaces for guests at all times so that you aren’t confined to just relaxing in your room. For instance, you can curl up in front of the fireplace with your book, cast your videos onto the TV, or eat your meal at the kitchen bar like home. Our room itself was extremely comfortable - the bed, pillows, heating, fan, bath were all perfect. In terms of convenience, there is free parking on the property, free use of the washing machine and dryer, and it is only a 3-4 minute walk into city centre. Abhishek would also respond to any questions we had over WhatsApp within minutes which was fantastic. Lastly, one of their workers, Lisa, would typically be around in the mornings in the kitchen to bake fresh goodies for the guests, so it was a delightful surprise to have pancakes in bed (albeit an exception) on one of our mornings! All in all, I felt extremely grateful for the experience we had. It’s an unusual feeling to be so excited / look forward to returning to your accomodation to “enjoy” it after a day of exploring but I certainly felt that way about Mishika! We will return to stay over and over again without a doubt and be recommending it to all friends and family. Thanks again, Fiona & Jordan"
Alpine Resort Wanaka THC Hotels and Resorts
"Very good, the room is clean and tidy, the kitchen is fully equipped. There are washing and drying facilities. Suitable for families with children"
Modern Family Holiday home with sensational views peaceful paradise (sleeps 11)
Black Peak View
"A plus was the complementary breakfast. Very peaceful environment, close to town, helpful and friendly host."
Aspiringlofts
"We were lucky enough to stay here for the first part of our recent holiday in New Zealand. Fabulous. It’s the perfect holiday accommodation: - super clean, great position, comfy bed, spectacular views and everything you need for your stay. Claire & Jim are great hosts – Claire even made cookies for us when we arrived. And also super tasty homemade preserves and muesli. It’s a short walk into town along the lakeside and there is off-road parking available too. Warmly recommended."
Lakeshore Springs Apartments
Criffel Peak View Bed and Breakfast
"Very clean and comfortable homestay, moderate location, delicious breakfast."
Mt Aspiring Suite
"The room is spacious and quite quiet."
Clearbrook Motel & Serviced Apartments
"Room facilities are excellent and we enjoyed very much during our stay."
Wanaka Luxury Apartments
"Wanaka is really my favorite place on this trip, it is so cozy and comfortable. The apartment is self-service check-in, no problem; the apartment has a kitchen, living room, bedroom, cloakroom, utility room, all are very clean, there is a small yard outside, I like it very much, it would be great to be able to retire here... I like places with few people and beautiful scenery. One problem is that the bedroom has blinds, and they are right at the head of the bed. In the morning, the sun will shine directly on the face without reservation, which is not suitable for people who can't sleep in the sun😂Unless you wear an eye mask"
Club Wyndham Wanaka, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
"The stay is very good and strategic location. The bed is comfortable. Near to the Roys Peak track."
Alpine Motel
"I had a very enjoyable stay at Alpine Motel Wanaka. The location is very convenient, just a short walk to Lake Wanaka, cafes, restaurants, and shops, which makes exploring the town easy without needing to drive. The area is also quiet, so it’s perfect for a relaxing stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with useful facilities like a kitchenette. Parking was easy, and the overall setup is very practical for both short and longer stays. Overall, a great value stay with a good balance of comfort and location. I would definitely consider staying here again."
Fairway Motel & Apartments
"The room was spacious and very clean, with a small kitchenette and a fridge. The bathroom was also quite large. We were on the ground floor, and outside there was a big yard with a table and chairs where we could sit, sunbathe, and have tea. It's not far from the city center, and the price, which was a little over 700 RMB, was super value for money. Just one thing: when I booked through Ctrip, the deposit deducted was a bit over 729 RMB, which converted to a little over 181 New Zealand Dollars. However, when I actually paid for the room with my credit card at the hotel, it was charged a bit over 185 NZD, which was about 3 NZD more. This extra charge might have been a service fee, so it's something to be aware of when booking in the future – paying with a credit card at the hotel might incur extra fees."
Wanaka View Motel
"Very good place to stay - clean, well maintained property and spacious room, reasonably priced; comfortable and quiet, would stay here again. Please note that this place offers different types of rooms - we spent the night in the basement suite, which does not have 'a view', or a kitchenette, but this is clearly highlighted when booking (on room selection). If any of these items is important for you, make sure you book one of the more expensive apartment-style rooms above. A guest laundry is available."
