The restaurant is highly recommended. Highly priced, creative and very tasteful. The rooms are very tastefully decorated in keeping with the name (crown) and concept (romance) of the hotel, but not with the charm of days gone by, but modern. This is particularly evident in the bathrooms and hygiene facilities of the hotel. The whole hotel is as clean as we have not seen it in a long time. Der schöne Asten - Resort Winterberg
"Positives • The location is great, nearby Winterberg • There is a great bar on the ground floor • Breakfast was quite extensive and tasty Negatives: • Our room was above the kitchen and the bowling alley. Every night the staff was cleaning/ preparing the kitchen, which made a lot of noise between 21-23h. Same repeated every morning from 6-8h. A no-go if you would like to go to bed early. • There is no working WIFI connection. Because it is in the mountains, our phone also had no connection to the normal network. Therefore, WiFi was essential. • We stayed in one of the renovated rooms, we couldn’t find curtains, so we asked the receptionist if we could get another room, because it was so light, especially in the morning. He told us that non of the rooms had curtains. So we fixed our own with a piece of plastic (see the pic). Btw, you could see curtains in other rooms through the windows so either it was a lie or an incompetence of the receptionist. • We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and our beds have not been made once. They only brought us new towels once. • Our renovated room had no door to the bathroom and toilet. You have no privacy on the toilet, so if you want to have a romantic stay with your partner, this is not the place to go. And because there is no door to the shower, even a hot shower feels very cold. • The overall impression of this hotel is that it definitely has potential, but it feels like everything has been a bit neglected over the years, especially sauna. That is a pity. • If you are coming for a winter sport trip keep in mind that the gear drying room is not in the hotel but in the sauna, which is 10 mins walk."

"Beautiful location, near ski slopes and lift, but in quiet surrounding outside Winterberg. Very friendly owners, rooms are very clean with good beds, great buffets for breakfast and for dinner. Swimmingpool and sauna, nice bar with a fire. We had a great time."

Astenturm Hotel
"Our stay at the hotel Astenturm did not meet our expectations. Two days before arrival we received a message that check-in at the Dorint Hotel in Winterberg was made. Hotel is about 4 km from the Astenturm. At the arrival at the Astenturm there was no staff member who was powerful in the German language. On the question of the park card it was just called it to stop. The way to the room was described only with rooms there. Room was not cleaned every day so there were no fresh towels. Furthermore, the ties of the predecessor were still in the bathroom waste shop. Reclamation at the reception was not understood due to lack of German knowledge. I called it colleagues. Today's departure day there was no breakfast as it's rest day. Therefore, we saved the lacking breakfast. On the other days, breakfast was a conception. 2 years ago we were enthusiastic with hotel and breakfast. The choice of the so-called breakfast buffet corresponded to a 1 star hotel. For the missed breakfast we ask for a refund of €18"

"We had a very nice stay with Martin and Mirjam. All fine peak, from breakfast to dinner and the rooms. I love the small, you have also more contact with the other guests. And nothing is too much. When the taxi company left us in the mouth and we threatened to miss our train on the return journey, Martin brought us to the next station."
