"Excellent accommodation, but a little remote from shops/restaurants/facilities - we didn't have a car"
Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa - Adults Only (+18)
"The accommodation was nice and beautiful, close to various places and convenient for travel. The only downside was the breakfast; there wasn't much variety, it was repetitive. For the last two days, my boyfriend and I didn't go down for breakfast. We ate outside instead."

Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort
"Spent a one week family holiday at Princesa Yaiza in May and it was fantastic. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, spacious rooms, fantastic sea view from our junior suite, lovely pool areas and huge choice of great food at breakfast. The location was great.... a short walk into town one way, or to the marina the other way, and right opposite the beach. Children's club and facilities were excellent. I'd highly recommend this hotel and we hope to return!"
Gran Castillo Tagoro Family & Fun Playa Blanca
"Myself and my 82 year old mother stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, half board in February. We booked a Gold Level 1 bedroom junior suite directly with the hotel. I was too late to choose our room number but emailed requesting a Junior suite with an ocean view and a separate lounge so we both had a separate sleeping area. I was told this was not guaranteed, however on arrival we discovered we had been upgraded to a wonderful, huge 2 bedroomed suite with a massive outdoor area overlooking both the sea one way and the mountains the other way! It had 2 Balinese beds, multiple sun loungers, table and chairs and outdoor sofas. On top of that there was also a hot tub!! We were over the moon to say the least. Lovely toiletries, some chocolates, bottles of water (new one left each day), teas and coffees. One thing to note is don't bother putting the extra jetson in the shower as all the water come out from the door and floods the place! Also there was some very heavy rain one day and water did come in through the window. We informed them when we left so this might be fixed now. We were a little apprehensive due to the recent negative reviews we had read before we arrived but we found the whole place brilliant. I will note that we were Gold Level. That meant we could use the quieter pool which included beer, tea, coffee and juice even though we were only Half Board. The bar man was very friendly here too. We also took advantage of the Spa on the rainy day we had which was lovely. warm pool with water jets, sauna, steam room, walk through hot then cold water area (up to your calves) and a cold water plunge. You get an hour session included at Gold Level. We also booked a massage each which was really good. The ladies working at the Spa are very friendly and welcoming. Gold Level also meant that we could eat at the Timanfaya Restaurant, which we did every night as it was a quieter, nicer atmosphere. You could choose from the couple dishes they cook in front of you (a meat and fish option), or choose to get food from either the small buffet at Timanfaya or walk over the connecting bridge to the main restaurant and pick your food from there. We thought there was so much choice. I am vegetarian and I would say that there weren't any real specific vegetarian main meals with a protein in them. However, there was still lots for me to get with loads of salads, stir fry vegetables etc. We found it all very tasty. Ok, not always the hottest from the buffet but that is partly because you walk round looking and picking bits up so it will naturally cool down by the time you get back to your seat! The desserts at Timanfaya were amazing - I would say better than the main restaurant. My plate at pudding was always very full as it was so good. The staff in Timanfaya were lovely. Luis particular ensured he paid great attention to us. We were half board and still seemed to be able to get a glass of bubbles on the way in (at dinner and breakfast). We weren't sure if"
Grand Hyatt Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort
"Had a lovely time at the resort thanks to the staff, met many solo travellers who added to the friendly atmosphere. There was also a cat."
Hotel Cordial Marina Blanca
"Lovely hotel situated in the marina, rooms very clean and excellent lay out, had a fantastic view of marina from balcony, a short walk and there are lots of restaurants and bars, already looking to come back next year. Dennis is a star ⭐ ⬛ he can win you over in minutes got everyone wrapped around his paw . Staff on reception excellent."
Palmeras Garden
"Mixed experience here so would not return based on this. Apartment was very spacious, clean but limited utensils in the kitchen e.g. no grater. Cleaning and new towel schedule was very random despite receptionist saying there was a rotation. No lights on around the complex so had to ask. Paths around complex need re surfacing. Local shop doesn’t open until 11am so if you don’t have something in it’s a 20 minute walk to another supermarket. They want a deposit FOR EVERYTHING. Beach towels, extra key - even a €1 deposit for your plastic cup by the pool. (Bit OTT when we were the only ones by the pool!) Worst of all was the receptionist - rude. She didn’t care about making you feel welcome, didn’t want to help you, came across that we were just an annoyance to her when asking her simple / straight forward questions. HARD WORK! With all that aside, it didn’t ruin the holiday. It’s 3 star, you pay for what you get. The experience of staying here could have been made better by a friendly receptionist."
Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa
"Good overall"
Barcelo Playa Blanca
"This was the worst hotel I stayed at in Lanzarote. 1. Even though we did not put up the “Please clean the room” sign, the housekeeping staff still entered our room. After the cleaning, a Jo Malone lip balm that was placed on the bathroom counter went missing. I do not want to assume any misconduct, but the hotel has provided no explanation till now. When we informed the staff about the missing item, they did not show any apology or concern. This reminded me of a review written by a skin cancer patient who mentioned that the hotel had no empathy — and I truly felt the same. 2. The dining options look abundant at first glance, but there is actually very little worth eating. Many food items from the previous day were simply put out again the next day. I literally ate watermelon that had gone sour. Most of the dishes were overly sweet, and the overall dining quality was low. 3. In January, parking was still free. Now they charge €5 per day. The amount is not high, but charging guests for parking in your own hotel parking lot feels quite greedy — especially on Lanzarote, where most parking is free. 4. On the day of arrival, we stored our luggage first and were given a claim tag. I asked about breakfast and dinner times, and the receptionist told us it would be explained later during check-in. However, when we checked in that afternoon, no one explained anything. I ended up having to ask the restaurant myself. We were not informed about any hotel facilities either. The most ridiculous part is that Ctrip clearly lists that the hotel provides concierge service, yet when we went to collect our luggage, the receptionist simply opened the storage room door and told us to go in and get it ourselves. Is that really the standard of a so-called high-end hotel? Overall, this was extremely disappointing. Our other hotels in Lanzarote were wonderful, and we chose this one only for the last two days — which turned out to be a regret. As of writing this review, Ctrip has already compensated us for the missing item, but the hotel still has not given any response. Thinking back, it’s frightening. Fortunately, we locked our suitcases when we went out — one of them contained a Hasselblad camera, lenses, a laptop, etc., worth around €1,500 in total. If the item that went missing had been the camera, our entire trip would have been ruined. In conclusion: I do not recommend this hotel. It is unfriendly, unprofessional, and does not live up to the image of a high-end property."
Barceló Playa Blanca Royal Level - Adults Only
"None of the YouTube’s or reviews do this place justice. A perfect holiday except for the Mexican restaurant. It was so cold, we had to put jumpers on to get through it. "
