"We had email exchanges with La Maison De Rhodes before our visit so we were already confident that this was a well-run hotel, but the reality was so much more. Firstly, inside and outside it is stunning - the old stone and wood frontage of the property and wrought ironwork lead you to a wood beamed interior, exposed brickwork, lots of dried flowers and plump sofas. Our room was stunning with ceiling beams, white linen and stone floors and a very comfortable bed. The location was ideal, down a side street by the Cathedral. The staff were friendly and very helpful, providing restaurant recommendations, arranging taxis etc We had a really lovely 3 days in Troyes and La Maison de Rhodes was a huge part of that."

"We discovered Château de Montabert when looking for somewhere to stay to break our journey from Calais to the alps. What a fabulous place! In a quiet village set in beautiful grounds the location could not be better. The rooms are large and very comfortable. Dinner is optional (you need to tell them in advance) and is a set menu . However, we were not disappointed. David is an amazing chef and the three course meal was stunning as was the included breakfast. Vanessa and David are fantastic hosts and we will definitely be back."
