"◆Room-only plan used◆ My mother, her two daughters, and I stayed together (4 people total). The unmanned check-in process was smooth. The entrance was beautiful, and the room was lovely. The bath was fantastic, with 24-hour free-flowing hot spring water! For meals, there's an alley right in front of the hotel with about 10 restaurants, so we had no trouble finding places to eat. When we returned from dinner, the staff were cleaning the entrance, and we appreciate that they kept it clean even late at night. We would like to use this hotel again next time."

"Conveniently located right in front of Awara Onsen Station. The entire hotel was brand new and very clean. I liked that there were a variety of pillows to choose from."

"Is it Taisho-era retro? Or Showa-era retro? This inn is quiet, relaxing, and has a great atmosphere. I was glad the hot springs were empty. The souvenir shop inside the inn has a good selection and good taste. I was able to enjoy a leisurely dinner and breakfast, and I was full. I also received a discount coupon for Tojinbo Tower, so I went up the tower."

"We enjoyed in-room dining for both breakfast and dinner, and the attentive service made for a wonderfully relaxing family stay. The hot spring, a large rock bath, was incredibly soothing, and it was great to have amenities readily available. We also appreciated the complimentary massage chairs and the manga room. The food was delicious, leaving us thoroughly satisfied."

"Reason this hotel I picked the best thing hotel located next to the lake (北潟湖, the first time facing the lake. I scored 5 at location, just because I drove to there. Hotel provide the shuttle bus from station. The service is super warm, kind, you will know the Japanese old time excellent service. I visit here at Low season and weekday, only few couples stay in same day, love the silent and the lake view is super cool. "

"I highly recommend this hotel as everything from the food to the hot springs and service was extremely comfortable. There's a morning market starting at 6am where you can buy souvenirs, and they even clear the snow away when it snows. You can make your own hot spring eggs before taking a bath and enjoy them afterwards. The only thing I noticed is that the shoes in the hotel are geta sandals rather than slippers, but they can be a challenge for people with large feet, so it's best to check"

"The building itself is old, but it has been renovated and the inside is clean. I got a room that I didn't envy, but the room itself was spacious and comfortable. The toilet was also clean. The sink was small and there wasn't much space to put things, so it was a little difficult to use. I was happy that there was free drink service in the lobby and after taking a bath. There were also popsicles and alcohol in the bath. The food was buffet style. To be honest, it was neither good nor bad. It wasn't particularly memorable, but there was no line and it was difficult to get what I wanted, so I was able to eat smoothly and deliciously. I really liked that there was Häagen-Dazs ice cream for dessert. Personally, I thought the breakfast buffet was better than the dinner buffet. I liked the seafood bowl and French toast."

"I stayed here with my son and daughter's family over the weekend. Dinner was mostly low-salt (or maybe no salt?), and the grilled dishes (rosy seabass fillets) and the main Wakasa beef golden shabu-shabu were tasteless, with onion soup stock, not consommé (no dipping sauce either). Due to a shellfish allergy, I had the main snow crab replaced, but it was treated as about five small, thin, tasteless pieces of roast beef that were cooked through. The breakfast was a good selection and quantity, and the rice was delicious, so I enjoyed it very much. There are no washcloths in the room, so if you don't like reusing bath towels, you will need to bring your own washcloths. The refrigerator in the room comes with a freezer. It's great for souvenirs of seafood. There is no mineral water provided in the room, but there is a convenience store right next to the inn. There is a request to fill out a usage survey, but there are no writing utensils provided in the room. It's a shame."

I went there with high expectations, but it was a bit disjointed, which is disappointing. I don't actively recommend it, and I won't be returning, even though the building is impressive."

"This is a pure Japanese hot spring hotel. Apart from us, almost all the guests staying there were locals. The service was very attentive and considerate. The Japanese-style room is large enough, with separate toilet and shower rooms, and a large dressing table and sink. The hot spring is clean and comfortable. The outdoor pool is closed in winter, so it won’t be crowded because there aren’t many people. The price doubles during the New Year's Day, and it is very cost-effective on weekdays. The meals are also super rich, I definitely want to try them out!"
