Hotel Amanhavis

Hotel Amanhavis

📍 C. el pilar, 3, Benahavis
★★★ 9.1 (20 reviews)

"We visited for 2 nights and can’t speak highly enough of the hotel, Margo and the team. There are 9 rooms in the hotel. All individually decorated and named, It’s small enough to feel unique and not like a hotel, it’s more home from home but with hotel amenities. Location couldn’t be better. You can find plenty of parking just down the road to the left. And the bars and restaurants are a minutes walk away but because you are at the e end of the road, no noise from people passing. Benahavis is wonderful, if you like hiking absolutely do the river hike. We did it at midday in 30 plus degrees which was wonderful as your shaded and wet the whole time. Do not be put off by the hotel being 3 star, you will be treated like royalty and the food!!! Amazing! Can’t wait to go back."

"Not surprisingly, the majority of people staying at this resort - mostly groups of men - are here for the golf. It doesn't disappoint in this department as the golf courses are very good as are the amenities (driving range, golf carts, etc). However, there's nothing else of interest within walking distance of the hotel so you will need a car if you want to explore Benahavis town for example. Our large room was dated but did come with a large balcony and panoramic views. It also included most of the amenities that you would expect from such a hotel, such as a coffee machine, robes, and slippers. There's a large pool and Spa which included a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and a herbal room. The gym is sparsely equipped but fine for a quick workout. Likewise, underground parking is good but does cost an additional €12 per night. The breakfast buffet was a highlight with lots of options served in a relaxed environment. It was also possible to order various egg dishes such as omelettes or eggs Benedict. Overall, if you like golf then this resort hotel is a good option. But we wouldn't recommend it for non-golfers."

"It's a bit far from downtown, but it's convenient to stay inside the hotel. The facilities are old, but they are well maintained and well-furnished. The breakfast is delicious. There are many kinds. I added dinner and ate it. The pool was so nice."

"This was our third time visiting, as we have always had a nice experience here, which is why we chose to return. The apartments are spacious, clean, and well located, and the pool and reception staff were lovely. Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing. The chemicals in the pool turned my young son’s hair and clothes green, which was upsetting enough. On our last day, after applying a cream, he had a severe reaction within minutes, screaming and crying as a nasty red rash appeared. The only shower by the pool is cold, and as he is only four years old, this made things even worse. I took him into an apartment, which had not been cleaned and had the door left wide open, so that I could shower him quickly, as he was clearly in pain. We were inside for less than five minutes when we were confronted by an extremely rude and aggressive woman, shouting “unbelievable” repeatedly. She refused to listen, followed us out to the pool area, and continued shouting in front of my distressed child. It was a horrible experience and ruined the end of our holiday. Had she simply listened, I believe she would have understood the situation. If the apartment had been cleaned and locked, I would never have gone inside. Instead, what could have been a lovely trip ended very badly, and we left earlier than planned. I sincerely hope this was rude woman gets some much needed customer services training or a new job! Sadly, this isn’t a one off, the same woman, was incredibly rude to an elderly lady, who’d been coming for fourteen years, who was requiring some help with her disabled husband. These people weren’t known to us, but my husband assisted her as he was so shocked by the lack of empathy and compassion this woman displayed! Interestingly at that time, she also said she couldn’t speak English, but was clearly able to when she was shouting at us!"

"We highly recommend this accommodation for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. My wife and I spent a week here and for us it is a little slice of paradise. Located on a secure gated high quality urbanisation, the house is beautiful, clean, has a pool and is exceptionally well maintained. There is free car parking available, the four rooms are spacious, lovely, bright and comfortable. There are absolutely stunning panoramic views across the hills and over the coast line. If you take the large room it has a huge balcony which is fabulous. There is a restaurant, bakery and bar within walking distance. Guests at the accommodation are from many nationalities. If you happen to like your golf (we are not golfers) then this location is ideal for you too. There is a golf course only a few minutes away and many more within a 10k radius. The beach is a ten minute drive to San Pedro. What really set this place apart from the many places that we have stayed at in the past are the hosts who work so hard to make your stay enjoyable. Inga and Leo are a wonderful and personable couple who clearly love what they do and made our stay such a lovely and personal experience. They speak a number of languages and the warmth of their initial welcome when we arrived was something that they maintained throughout our stay. Breakfast was a plentiful combination of continental and cooked food served in tranquil surroundings. Overall this was a really peaceful and relaxing experience which we really appreciated and one that we hope to do again. Relax and enjoy. Thank you Leo and Inga."

Hotel Amanhavis ★★★
"A charming establishment in a small village in the mountains of Málaga. The owner and staff, especially Elena, are absolutely delightful and very attentive to every need. If I had to mention something beyond their control, it would be the hotel's lack of accessibility, but this is to be expected given the type of construction. Overall, highly recommended if you're looking for peace and quiet near the coast."

The Westin la Quinta Golf Resort & Spa, Benahavis, Marbella ★★★★★
"We have just returned from Westin La Quinta for a golf holiday and spa. I would agree with many others that there is nothing nearby, bar, shop, restaurant etc without paying for cabs. You are pretty much isolated. You are thus restricted eating at the hotel. Food was mostly nice and breakfast very good. But very little offered in the way of a snack like a sandwich or lighter bite. Prices are a bit high for drinks and dont dip into the mini bar or food in room! Kitkat €5 really! Room was very comfortable, big bed and yes a little dated but very clean. South facing room needed black curtains and not just shutters. Overlooked B and A first tees across the road which did give some noise from the flash motors from locals. Spa was really very good and excellent massages. Highly recommend one or two. Now the golf. We played four rounds here, C&B, every flaming round. Yes A was shut for maintenance Monday to Sunday, so really disappointing not to play the A course the whole week. Maybe shutting Weds to Tues would allow those coming for a week a chance to play all the course. Drinks on course! It was 37° for our 1st round and the 19th hole hut wasnt even opened and if you wanted extra water you paid for it. Never had to in Turkey or other courses in spain. C&B courses were in excellent condition and loved playing them. Staff are friendly and helpful in the main, just a frosty response from the female staff in the pro shop when I asked about playing the A course. Practice facilities need improving. Range but no driving. Putting good but no chipping area. Would we play La Quinta again, yes, would we stay at Westin, not likely as worked out too pricey. Hotel staff great."

"The first apartment we got was disgusting, smell of mold, found silverfish and lot of bugs. At first they didin't want to give us a new apartment but then did. The second apartment didin't smell but was not clean, spiderweb in several corners and ants everywhere. Really uncomfortable beds and the lobby said they could not do anything about it. The pools were dirty also. As seen on photos it was disgusting. They were taken when we arrived."

Boutique Hotel Maravilla - Marbella ★★★★
"We’ve found a piece of heaven on earth. This beautiful boutique hotel ticks all the boxes. Large airy spacious rooms that feel like home from home. Owner and hostess Inga went over and above in making our stay a memorable one. Freshly cooked breakfast at a time that suited us with after drinks served on the amazing terrace overlooking the sea and Gibraltar on a clear day. I loved the fact there’s a bath and a power shower in each room which you don’t find too often nowadays . Nestled in the mountains it’s a 10 min drive to the lively bars and restaurants of Puerto Banus and the sandy beaches . We are 100% planning a return visit hopefully soon !"

"We had a lovely stay. The journey from the airport was only 50 mins and there is plenty in the area to do. We would recommend having a car. There are many local beaches nearby as well as Marbella, Puerto Banus and Selwo Adventure. The apartment was spotless - cleaned three times during the week. Lidl and Mercadona nearby and plenty of restaurants within a 10 min drive. There is a tiny shop and cafe within walking distance -  I walked with our daughter in her pushchair easily but just be mindful as there isn't a pavement all the way. The security and reception team could not be more welcoming and helpful, they were great. There is a superb "lounge" area with water, tea, coffee and biscuits as well as space to work/plug in your devices. The pool area is sizcious, clean and tidy. There are plenty of beds. The water is cold!!"
