DdavylegrandHotel Bendinat in Mallorca is one of those rare gems that feels like a home away from home. Having stayed here multiple times over the years, I can confidently say that it offers a perfect blend of understated luxury, Mediterranean charm, and tranquility.
The location is simply unbeatable—perched right on the coastline, with stunning views of the turquoise waters of the Bay of Palma. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea is something I look forward to every time I visit. The hotel’s lush gardens, with their towering palm trees and cozy lounge areas, create an atmosphere of total relaxation.
The rooms are elegantly designed in a classic Mediterranean style, with whitewashed walls, wooden accents, and large windows that let in plenty of natural light. Many of them come with private terraces, perfect for unwinding with a glass of wine in the evening. While the décor is timeless, the hotel has managed to maintain a fresh and well-kept feel over the years.
One of the highlights of every stay is dining at Las Terrazas de Bendinat, the hotel’s restaurant. Sitting right by the sea, it offers some of the best seafood dishes on the island. Their paella and grilled fish are a must-try, and the service is always warm and attentive. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a long, leisurely lunch with a view of the shimmering water.

GGuest UserWow, where to begin. My husband and I brought our 3 year old to Mallorca after moving half way across the world. It was our first break from craziness in a year, and we were lured by the direct flight from our city to visit Mallorca for a week after Christmas. I found the Elba Sunset after doing a bit of research on where to stay on the island. First, and most importantly, I want to say an immeasurable thank you to the entire staff of the Elba. When I say, I could not have imagined how relaxing, joyful, kind, thoughtful, and generous the staff of this establishment could be, I mean it. They are all truly, truly amazing. (Apologies in advance if names are spelled incorrectly!).I specifically want to thank Marta, Elise, Adrian, Christiane, Henry, Paula, Pedro, the whole cleaning staff, and truly every person I encountered there, for making this vacation, one we really desperately needed, so wonderful. Our son Hugo was embraced and coddled by everyone he met, and was completely accepted and showered with love wherever we went in the hotel. Speaking of the hotel. We were there in the off season, and I cannot recommend it enough. The stunning location, the sun, the bright spacious room with a beautiful sea view, the pool (albeit freezing...not that my husband and son cared!), the spa, and the restaurant overlooking the water. 100 out of 10 for the people who make the Elba Sunset the magical place that it is. NNinAg_I really like the room leading directly to a small garden. The weather is very good and the hotel public area is also very beautiful. It seems that there is a door at the end of the large garden that leads directly to the beach. There is a road along the sea for a leisurely walk.

TThe Traveler CoupleThe place of the hotel was literally closed to the beach front and alot of restaurants. I’m sorry if I will give three for the cleanliness, it was based on my experience but maybe once you try it you won’t experience what I experienced. But this hotel is beautiful but I think for summer time it doesn’t deserve the price they offer. Amenities is perfect because they have some saunas and some other stuff if ever the weather will be unpredictable and thats a big deal that I like with the hotel.

CChristianSkasGreat location in the second row from the beach. The highlight is the infinity pool on the roof. With a glass bottom and a view of the sea. However, the pool is not heated. The breakfast offered a lot of choice. Both international and Spanish dishes were available. For our taste, however, it was far too sweet. The artificial juices in particular were almost undrinkable. The standard room with a balcony and a view of the city. Not huge, but pleasantly furnished. With a wide bed, open wardrobe, microwave and free mini-bar (water, juices, refilled daily). Not a luxury hotel, but overall highly recommended...!!!

AAshaAll over it was a good trip. We enjoy a lot but just the last day we faced a water problem in the hotel. There was no water inside ,and the first day at 3am someone was drunk knock to our door, was disturbing us, my husband call the receptionist and they send 2 security guards and they took 5min to handle the situation. Thanks to them.Otherwise, we are satisfied. I highly recommend this hotel. You can relax, admire the beautiful view from the hotel.

SSam_AleeMy breakfast was included during my stays and as I told them to pack my breakfast because I leave early morning before their breakfast time starts. They promised me they will give us Sandwiches and other related items whereas they give us some unhealthy and bad condition cookies and wafers. I didn't even check because I trust them. But when I saw this, I was shocked and called the hotel number and they replied they didn't know anything about this. How funny!! I was really disappointed.

My view from room was awful, I had end room so my balcony faced a wall and had some garbage from other guests thrown down into it. Cleared that up myself.
Room size excellent! Really felt at home in my room.
Bathroom had some cleanliness issues, saw many short curly light brown hairs on sink, shower floor, on shower gel and shower handle. But this didn’t ruin anything. For the room, the only thing I will say is it’s missing basic hotel room items like kettle tea/coffee making facilities. Body cream little bits like that in the bathroom.
Apart from that it was a great stay and I would return!

GGuest UserThis is our 2nd trip to this hotel. It’s now on a B&B only ( we had half board last year) with the breakfast served across the road in a restaurant with the best views across the bay! Great selection of food and drinks.
The man on reception is super helpful and friendly even at 11.45pm!
Lovely small hotel with a small pool
Comfy beds and the balcony is spacious with an area to dry towels etc. The hotel offers towels for rent but we bought one for €5 in the supermarket next door.
Cleaned every day and cleaned well.
Lots of restaurants and shops close by.
The fabulous beach is a 10minute stroll, with a massive supply of sun beds ( €20.50 a day for 2 beds under a fixed umbrella and an attached safety box)
We will definitely go back to Playas del Rey
