The location is excellent, close to German Town and Big and Small River Street, both within walking distance. Parking is convenient and free, with electric vehicle charging stations available. With its old Shanghai retro style and prime lake views, our little one was constantly surprised and delighted, and it's incredibly family-friendly 💯. The hotel is tucked away in the Liuye Lake Resort area, within Daxiaohe Street. It's a designer hotel that opened in 2023, featuring retro red brick buildings alongside bluestone streets. Open the window and you're greeted with a stunning lake view that blends with the sky. Every photo taken here looks like a民國 (Republic of China era) blockbuster – it's super photogenic! 📸 What truly impressed me was the meticulous attention to detail! Even the carpet on the second-floor staircase was neatly secured with metal strips, and the edges were perfectly finished. From the soft furnishings to the hardscaping, everything exuded sophistication. You can feel the immense care put into its upkeep, making for a wonderfully comfortable stay.~ Our balcony view room was absolutely stunning! Stepping out, you're on a massive balcony with direct lake views. Not only that, but we could clearly see the live performances from the second floor. Watching the show with the lake breeze in the evening – the ambiance was incredible, and it was such a delightful surprise! 🌊 For those with kids, the breakfast is a must-try! The variety of main dishes is super rich, with a choice of noodles, pastries, and more. The portions are generous and delicious, and the kids ate their fill, so we didn't have to worry about breakfast at all. ~ The hotel is generally child-friendly, with a quiet and safe environment. With its retro courtyard and beautiful lake scenery, it's perfect for family outings, holidays, or even just for taking photos. "This was a very disappointing stay, thankfully it was only for one night between trains.  I informed the hotel in advance that I would arriving around 2230. No acknowledgement. On arrival, one of the three unoccupied staff eventually looked up at me.  Check-in then proceeded to take 10-15 minutes while reception scrutinised my Irish passport, photocopied it, asked me why I had no visa and so on. It’s clear this alleged 5-star hotel are not used to dealing with tourists.  I had a requested a non-smoking room but when I opened the door there was a smell of stale smoke. There was also cigarette ash all over the arm of the couch. Now very tired, I made my complaint on check out.  The receptionist - her WeChat profile says she is the hotel’s top salesperson - was clearly looking for ways to dodge the complaint and try it on. She offered a refund provided I cancelled via Trip. Obviously having stayed this was not an option for me and in any event cancellation is required by 2000 the night before. It was clear she wanted to pretend the stay never took place and in so doing she wanted to ensure it was not possible for me to leave a review.  She claimed she would resolve if all via WeChat as I was in a hurry for the train but on WeChat she reneged the refund.  Thankfully Trip stepped in to resolve matters.  The hotel then sent a blatant and direct request for me to post a 5-star review thereby contravening Trip’s policy on soliciting guest feedback. It’s clear they send this out to all customers.  Be advised, this hotel employs dodgy practices and I trust Trip will bring them to task."

"A friend came from another place to play and said that he was particularly interested in the poetry wall in Changde, so I compared several hotels and chose this one. The poetry wall can be reached by crossing the street. The hotel's rooms are very spacious and very comfortable. You can see the river view of the Yuan River through the window in the room. It is very beautiful. Although there is the sound of traffic coming and going, you can sleep well by closing the double-glazed glass and drawing the curtains. It is not too noisy. The scenery outside the window is especially beautiful at night. What impressed my friends most was their buffet breakfast! There are rich choices, from Western pastries to oriental cuisine, as well as Changde's special rice noodles. The food tastes very good, and the waiters in the restaurant are friendly. My friend said that next time he has the opportunity to come to Changde, he will choose this place first. He repeatedly told me that I must give a good review and strongly recommend it. . ."
