"Nice hotel"

"We have just returned from an incredible stay at the Atlantica Akteon as a group of 12, including 4 children, and honestly, we could not fault it. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful, and they genuinely could not do enough for us. Even with a group of 12, we never struggled to find somewhere for all of us to sit together at dinner, which made such a difference. The food was fantastic too — honestly, one of the best buffet selections we have experienced in a family hotel. There was plenty of choice and something for everyone. A particular thank you to the staff who went above and beyond when one of our little ones developed an ear infection during the holiday. They were incredibly helpful and even assisted us in getting to a medical centre to get her sorted. It was such a relief to have that support when we were away from home. We also had two 40th birthdays and another birthday during our stay, and the hotel went the extra mile with some lovely extra touches to help us celebrate. Those little details really made our holiday feel special. A huge shout-out to Kumar, Bibek and Maxi in the bars — they were both absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. 🍹 And a special mention to the lady in Guest Services, who I believe was called Ildika. She was fantastic — so helpful, friendly and always happy to assist with anything we needed. We have genuinely had such a brilliant holiday and made some amazing memories. The combination of the lovely hotel, fantastic staff, great food and beautiful Paphos location made this a holiday we will remember for a long time. "Beautiful Location, But Let Down by Poor Management and Customer Service. We recently stayed at the St George Beach Hotel & Spa and, despite its lovely setting, our overall experience was extremely disappointing. The biggest concern was the number of stray cats throughout the hotel grounds and restaurants. While we appreciate that Cyprus has many street cats, guests should not have to dine with cats walking between tables and eating from plates. During one evening meal, a cat unexpectedly jumped onto my lap. Rather than checking if I was alright, the head waiter aggressively threw the cat off me while loudly accusing me of feeding it. The cat dug its claws in to my clothes in fear and ripped the material. I had not fed the cat—I was simply shocked by what had happened. His reaction was unprofessional, embarrassing and completely inappropriate. Equally concerning was the sunbed situation. We became aware and witnessed some guests were paying the sunbed attendants €10 to reserve the best-positioned loungers. This created the impression that those willing to pay unofficially received preferential treatment, despite everyone having paid for the same holiday. This is unfair and leaves a very poor impression. The hotel itself has so much potential, but customer service and guest experience are clearly not priorities. Cleanliness and hygiene around the restaurants need improving, the stray cat issue requires proper management, staff should receive training on how to deal with guests respectfully, and the sunbed allocation system needs to be transparent and fair. Another noticeable feature was the amount of under 18’s drinking alcohol. Yes it’s an adults only but it’s actually 16+ unfortunately the youngsters were out of control after being served alcoholic drinks with parents not taking responsibility and waiters not checking ages. Why do I care? Because they were loud, out of control and obnoxious! And this is advertised as an “Adults Only” Hotel. What disappoints me most is that I contacted the hotel directly by email to raise these concerns before posting a public review. I felt it was only fair to give them the opportunity to respond or address the issues. Unfortunately, I received no acknowledgement or reply whatsoever. That lack of communication speaks volumes about how guest feedback is valued. Reading many of the reviews, I get the impression that the hotel relies heavily on returning guests who visit year after year. While it’s wonderful that many people enjoy returning, I do wonder whether familiarity means some of the ongoing issues are simply accepted or overlooked. As a first-time visitor, these problems were impossible to ignore and fell well below the standard we expected. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this hotel and would not choose to stay here again."

"Just came back after a fantastic week with my two daughters. We had a great room with sea view down by the smaller adults pool. All the staff were so good and really friendly. Food was great and plenty of choices. Pools were lovely and warm. The entertainment team were really great too especially Tuuli (not sure of spelling) Chiarra and Nora. They got us involved in a lot of activities including Darts competition, table tennis tournaments, French bowls, aqua aerobics, water polo and joining in with the night time entertainment. My daughter (17) loved the Irish Elvis impersonator, and got up to dance with him would definitely recommend if you’re thinking of going."

"No sooner as we'd checked in I knew it was going to be a great hotel. Receptionist was lovely and checked us in very quickly so we could get to the bar before last orders. We were given a bag with sandwiches, fruit and cake as we arrived at nearly 11pm. When we were ready we were showed to our room. It was a little way from the main hotel but nothing to worry about. Room was immaculate clean and bigger than we expected. Room cleaned daily, towels changed daily and our bed was changed twice whilst we were there for a week. Lovely pool area, no sunbeds wars. Breakfast lots to pick from. Cooking station for omelettes, pancakes, fried eggs, french toast. Usual fruit, meats, cereal etc. several cooked options. Lunchtime lots to choose from. Evening meal was theme nights, oriental, french, Italian, mexican, BBQ night, greek nights. Food was honestly very nice and actually tasted really good. Always chips, nuggets and fish fingers for children. Pool bar staff very friendly and served people quickly. Lots of daily entertainment which we didn't participate in but others did. Evening entertainment sounded ok but we didn't sit in the main bar as it a little loud for us. Evening staff absolutely top notch and waiter serves. Serves was impeccable. No sooner had someone taken your order it was served to you. I'd like to say a massive out to Eugene, Vladimir, Babita and Sangita some of the best waiter staff I've seen and trust me we've seen quite a few. The hotel is a little out of the way which we loved. There is a coastal walk to the harbour or up to coral bay. A beautiful beach about 5 Mins walk away where you can hire sunbeds, parasols and a safe box for €10 a day. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel which takes you to the market, harbour and the shopping mall twice a day with pick up about 3 hours after. I'd 100% recommended this hotel and we'd definitely return."
