NH Trieste

It's next to the train station (where the train arrives to/from the airport) and next to the bus station (very convenient if you want to take a bus to Ljubljana, Slovenia). The bus to Miramare Castle also stops nearby (last stop, bus number 6). It's also less than 5 minutes from the Canale Grande. In other words, very close to the city center. The rooms and bathrooms are well-maintained and a decent size. There's a good wardrobe for storing suitcases, clothes, etc. My only complaint about the room is that we had two twin rooms, and the beds weren't separate; they were pushed together (with no possibility of separating them). This wasn't a problem for us, although it might be for other people. Breakfast was good, served from 7:30 to 10:00; I don't know if it was served later on weekends. Everything was tasty, although the hot dishes were very limited (scrambled eggs and bacon, nothing else). There were cereals, fruit, pastries, cakes, croissants, etc. Some cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, etc. They kept replenishing and cleaning. For us, it was more than enough and very convenient (Trieste isn't particularly cheap). They even left an Easter egg in each of our rooms since it was Easter. The staff was friendly (receptionists, cleaning staff, breakfast staff). It's a hotel I'd return to, although it's not exactly cheap.
