"This hotel is absolutely top-notch! We stayed before the prices went crazy. Furano had a huge snowfall that day, and the next morning's snow scenery was breathtaking. All the common areas are fantastic, and the onsen is incredible – three private baths and a massive public one. As for breakfast, all the Dormy Inn branches I've stayed at in Hokkaido so far have been excellent."
"Location is very convenient since you have the train and the bus very close by. From Furano you can go to visit the lavander fields. Pretty awesome experience 😍"
"This hotel is very cost-effective. Although it is a bit far from the ski resort, they provide a shuttle bus service in the morning, and the timetable can be seen in my picture. They also have a hot spring. There is also afternoon tea in the afternoon. After skiing, you can sit in the lobby and have a drink and rest. The only downside is that the facilities are a bit old. They don't have room cards but keys, and you have to lock the room before leaving, it is not automatic."
"Excellent place to stay if you're driving. The parking lot is about 50-100m away from the hotel itself. After entering the lobby you'd see the wines they have for free sampling right near the door. The best part about this place, the laundry service is free! But that also means that there's most likely going to be a long wait. It's best to sit right where the washer / dryer is and wait your turn if you really want to use them. My booking also came with 2x 330ml cans of free Sapporo beer, and a small chocolate treat which was really nice. The room was nice and spacious and I very much enjoyed my stay with them. I'd love to stay with them again if I ever come back to this area."
"I stayed 5 nights in July 2025, and I am fully satisfied and would totally recommend the hostel.
The hostel is located in a peaceful area, you can get there by bus from the airport or from Furano Station. The hostel provides slippers, a towel, a toothbrush, a hair brush, and earplugs. You will find shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the showers. The bunk beds are spacious enough for a tall person (I'm 170 and had lots of space left), have and entrance with a curtain that totally covers from the light outside if you need to go to bed early, and you can charge your phone inside. I met many nice people, both Japanese and foreigners, the hostel is very international, we had some convenience store food for dinner/breakfast in the common room and shared our travel plans and recommendations for the local area. I was advised to go to Biei Tourism Information to book a half a day tour, which can be booked on the day there, and includes all the sightseeing spots around Biei, so you don't have to worry about how to get to these famous tourist spots. Also, I was advised to rent a bicycle (the 2nd one from the station is only 2000yen for a day) and where to go around Furano, so I'm really happy the hostel provides a common area for us to help each other, and to never feel alone there. All in all, I'll be back in the winter season and for lavender season again. Thank you for having me."
"This is the best stay for my trip to Hokkaido! The hotel is elegantly decorated and brand new, and the rooms have invincible garden views. The terrace is super suitable for watching the stars. At night, I accidentally saw cute deer infested, romantic full marks; there is a snow scene outside the window, like a fairy tale world.
The hot springs are clear and beautiful, and there are few people. The breakfast environment is beautiful and the food is fresh and delicious. The waiter is enthusiastic and active to chat and is efficient.
Absolutely Furano No.1 Hotel, I will visit again next time! Strongly push to tourists who love nature and relaxation~"
"The hotel is in a good location, with many restaurants nearby. It is convenient for friends who don't have any other place to stay. It is a typical ski hotel. The heating can be adjusted, which is very convenient for drying snow suits, snow pants and snow shoes. The service attitude of the hotel front desk is good."
"The room was clean, warm, and comfortable — perfect for the cold weather in Furano. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it felt cozy and well taken care of, which made the stay relaxing.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in was smooth. The location is convenient if you’re exploring Furano, especially for winter activities. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby, and getting around the area was pretty easy.
Overall, it’s a simple, comfortable, and good-value place to stay. I’d happily come back again on my next trip to Furano."
"When we first stepped foot in the Hostel Tomar we experienced a sense of dejavú. It seemed to be modelled after the popular hostels of Europe. The staff could speak fluent English & were helpful. The place was huge (for Japan), bright & airy. We immediately felt at home.
The location is incredible. It was drizzling when we arrived & continued to do so the entire time we were there. Luckily there are lots of eateries & shopping places around within easy access of the hostel. So instead of moping & bemoaning our bad luck we spent our time happily shopping for last minute souvenirs & scuppered our plans to explore further afield."

Amazing
GGuest UserRecommended for families, with six single beds, the room is extremely clean, the kitchen is fully equipped with cooking equipment, and there is a covered garage at the door, suitable for self-driving people. The only drawback is that there is only one underground toilet
HHUEIHUEIVery close to Furano Kitanomine Ski Resort, less than 5 minutes walk
The three of us rented a bedroom room (2 floors plus attic), room 101, on the first floor is a double bed room and toilet, on the second floor is the living room, kitchen, washing area/washing machine and bathroom, the attic has another For a mattress, you need to climb a steep ladder from the kitchen area. After the ladder is placed, the door near the washing machine area cannot be closed, which is a bit strange
The kitchen is not big, but the equipment is quite complete. There are electric kettles, electric rice cookers, microwave ovens, pots, tableware, trash cans that need to be sorted, and garbage is collected after 10 o'clock every day
The washing machine is a combination of washing and drying, but it takes 4 hours to wash and dry. The clothes can be hung in the area above the washing machine and dry in one night. There is washing powder under the sink, which is very convenient
The bathroom is large, the door can be closed, but there is no place to put clothes
AAnonymous UserThe facilities are complete, the distance is just right, the environment is not too noisy, and the space is large ~ it is worth checking out. Although it is newly built, it is not sloppy at all, and parking is easy!
