"01/1/26 $178. Stayed one night. Never again. The place was despicable, rubbish outside lower room areas, dried spilled liquid on concrete lower storage area, collected bed/linen sacks overflowing with some on the ground, refuse everywhere around steps to upper level, one upper level exit staircase closed off (huge fire danger evacuation issue), very ratty carpets, unclean mirror, squeaky entry door (hear it across the car park), otherwise clean bathroom but exhaust fan/light inoperative, curtain ripped, AND THE MANAGER JAMES? HAD A VERY POOR ATTITUDE, VERY ABRUPT (pointed his finger in my face when I challenged his attitude, & when sliding my receipt to me, held it down firmly with his other hand so I couldn’t take it and demanded respect when he was the one who was rude). All the above statements are my opinion. My wife agreed with me."

"(1) The front desk lady was incredibly condescending. She was clearly of Asian descent, but she looked at us with utter contempt the moment we walked in. Her attitude was completely impatient and rude, and she spoke to us in a superior tone, lacking any professional hotel etiquette. It was really uncomfortable to be discriminated against by another Asian person in Australia – seriously, what's up with that? 😅 Later, when we were leaving, we saw her being incredibly friendly to a Caucasian man, smiling and greeting him as soon as he entered, asking about his needs. What's that supposed to mean? 😅 I was happy until I saw her at the front desk, and then I just wanted to switch hotels. (2) The hotel also completely failed to inform us about the check-out time. It's completely different from the standard 12:00 PM check-out in China. We started getting knocks on our door at 8:00 AM, but no one spoke, so we thought it was a mistake. No one told us it was because we needed to check out. We weren't informed at all beforehand, which resulted in us being ordered to leave immediately. It was humiliating and offensive; we were almost kicked out and were charged an extra $50! ❗️ (3) The other hotel staff were very nice, and the Thai food at the hotel was also delicious 😋. The guests from other countries we met were also very friendly and polite. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but the fried rice was exceptionally good."

"This was our first stop on our road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide, via the Great Ocean Road. As it was my first time driving a right-hand-drive car, I chose Geelong, being the closest to Melbourne, as our initial stopover. The hotel's location is excellent, right in front of Geelong Beach and behind Geelong's commercial center, making it convenient for dining and stocking up for a long drive. Both the hotel room and bathroom were spacious and bright, and at least upon check-in, they were very clean. The front desk staff was friendly and proactively arranged valet parking. Since there were three of us, housekeeping promptly set up and made the sofa bed. I do have to mention a common drawback: there were no disposable slippers. And another common issue: in today's personalized era, the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided aren't really that useful. It would be better to save on those and instead provide guests with disposable slippers and shower caps."

"This Holiday Inn was a last-minute booking when I arrived in Australia, and surprisingly, it turned out to be the best and most affordable. The room was spacious, the facilities were new, and its downtown location made everything convenient. It was great for walking to the beach and exploring nearby attractions. Perhaps it's because it's not a huge city, but Geelong is truly a delightful place. It's a tourist-friendly city with plenty of lively energy yet still incredibly relaxed. The urban feel and rural charm blend perfectly, making it a very livable place."

"The hotel staff were very welcoming, and the room was extremely clean and tidy. It was our favorite accommodation during our trip to Australia so far ❤️. The bed was just the right firmness, and the coffee in the room was also delicious."

"I had a particularly satisfying stay this time. The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around and shopping, with plenty of dining options nearby. The front desk staff were warm and thoughtful, handling check-in and check-out efficiently with a gentle and polite attitude. The room was clean and tidy, with a logical layout, soft and comfortable bedding, and great sound insulation, ensuring a very quiet night's rest. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, all toiletries were complete and clean, and there was ample hot water supply. The overall environment and hygiene were well-maintained; there were no unpleasant odors in the hallways or public areas. The breakfast offered a rich variety, including meat, vegetables, desserts, and drinks, all tasting homely and offering good value. The hotel provides great value for money, with comprehensive facilities and attentive service, leading to a wonderful living experience. I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit and highly recommend it to everyone."

"Geelong is a must-go town on the Ocean Road, and it is also the departure point for taking a boat to Tasmania Island. The BEST WESTERN brand is similar to the domestic Atour positioning. The service facilities are above the average. Parking is free and the parking space is enough. The hotel is in a good location. The room is much larger than expected. There is a balcony."

"Our stay was wonderful, and peaceful The rooms were really soundproof which was unexpected and no distubance from outside noise or neighbors, the rooms were lovely and organised The apartment was closer to the beach than we expected and it was perfect as shopping centres were close by. Booking and payments were very easy and quick Privacy so perfect and no disturbance to our holiday at all, our room was very homely and spaceful Beautiful view from our balcony at evening I would love to book again"

"My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Parkside Motel Geelong. From the moment we arrived, Emma at reception gave me a warm and welcoming greeting that set the tone for our visit. The room was beautifully appointed, with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows offering a full park view, such a perfect way to unwind and take in the scenery. The bedding was comfortable for a restful night’s sleep. We also really appreciated the armchairs which gave the feeling of a stylish, hotel-lobby sofa. The highlight was definitely the corner spa, well designed and perfectly sized for two, adding a touch of relaxation and luxury to the stay. Overall, everything from value for money to service exceeded expectations, we highly recommended for anyone visiting Geelong!"
