Here's a review for Courtyard Hakuba:
Sure! Here's a review for Courtyard Hakuba:
We stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Hakuba with our family and had a comfortable experience. The room size was adequate for our needs, providing enough space to move around comfortably. However, the combined bathroom and toilet were a bit on the smaller side, which might be a consideration for some travelers.
The breakfast offered could definitely use some improvement. It was quite repetitive with not much variation from day to day. A bit more variety would make the dining experience better.
We skied at Hakuba 47 and were pleased with the convenience of the shuttle service provided by the hotel. The shuttle operated at designated times, making it easy to get to and from the slopes.
Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and would return.

CChloe Lim SanThe heart warming and hospitality of this family is one of my best experiences in Japan.
It was my first time traveling to Hakuba and it was snowing heavily. Masanori san was busy with dinner but he had his daughter to pick me up instead (she have left for university so I reckon on normal days, he will have to go out of his way to pick passengers if they needed.) One key thing to note was to specify where you are properly because i took a bus and they didn’t stop me at the interchange but instead they dropped me off at the Hakuba stop (outside North Face shop) so it was quite confusing and they couldn’t find me at first.
The room is very spacious and the morning snowing view was really nice. The free Hakuba shuttle bus is just one minute away and it comes every hour, you can have breakfast at 7/7.30am and take the shuttle bus at 8/9am (might not come on time but just be earlier as there are many others taking the same bus). In house Onsen was decent with hot enough water but will be perfect if only it was outdoors (more for the ventilation and view).
The dinner made by Masamori san was one of the main reasons why I booked this hotel - French cuisine. It is delicately made and ingredients are carefully sourced, you can literally taste the freshness of their ingredients. Book at least one day in advanced!
At 84, their granny got to be the cutest and sweetest, we sang that one or two Japanese song she knew and she was so happy she served us tea, we kind of almost feel bad that she is serving us but after speaking to her daughter knowing that it is working there that keeps her body strong and makes her happy (so during Covid, she was feeling weak).
And also they link up with Lion Gear for all rental of everything you need. You just have to let Masamori san know and he will arrange for them to pick you up at your preferred time. After choosing your gears, he said they will send me to the slopes (went Goryu/Hakuba 47), but they didn’t and instead they sent me to Happo and I had to bring my gears and walked 20-30mins to the bus stops and paid for the V2 buses (the larger buses are not free - so you got to pay 800Yen per person). After I told Masamori san the story, he was really apologetic and immediately called them up. The next day, he got them to compensate me for the trouble and it really did helped ease the not so great experience and time wasting - the Lion gear boss was generous in compensating and explained that it was their new staff and they didn’t follow the previous arrangements.
Supermarket is about 15-20mins walk away, can be pretty cold but the walk is really nice, proper walking path with snow built up like walls.
All in all, I will still rate this place 9/10 for the hospitality and sincerity of this family, the food and the spaciousness of the room! Highly recommend you to go for the French dinner!
GGuest UserThe room is clean and tidy. For a relatively small Japanese hotel, this one is very friendly, especially with a balcony, which makes the indoor area feel much larger. A family of three booked a standard room with a sofa bed. It should be more spacious for two people. The front desk staff was very polite. We arrived early, and although the check-in time was 3 pm, they let us check in early at 12 o'clock when there was a vacancy. The hotel can make an appointment for free pick-up service to and from the Hakuba Happo Bus Terminal, otherwise it takes more than ten minutes to walk there. There are scheduled buses to various ski resorts at the entrance of the hotel, which is very convenient. We prefer to walk to the Happo Oone Ski Resort, walk for more than ten minutes, and pass through a small forest. The snow scenery is very beautiful. The hotel room rate includes breakfast and dinner. The Japanese and French dinners for dinner are not repeated for four nights. They are very attentive and delicious, but for young people who have just finished skiing, the amount of food is really not enough. My son and husband have experienced it deeply. There is only one restaurant in the hotel, and there are no choices nearby. This is the only regret.
GGuest UserThis time I stayed in the newly renovated new wing of the hotel. The room was very comfortable, beautiful and hygienic. The view outside the room was very beautiful. The staff were also very enthusiastic. In addition, free drinks and noodles were provided after taking a bath. I will definitely choose it again next time. here
GGuest UserI had a very good time in Hakuba, staff in this hotel are so kind. They serve good food as well. It’s a very comfortable place. Ray kept helping us on different things, very considerate. He did his best to fulfill our needs, thanks you very much. I wish to stay there for more days, highly recommended.
GGuest UserThis trip to White Horse stayed in three hotels, run by Japanese, and European and American. This home is the most satisfying.
First of all, the hotel chosen by the Japanese in Hakuba must be better than the Europeans. No matter the cleanliness of the hotel or the enthusiasm of the boss.
This old Japanese couple has been running a homestay for over 30 years.
At first glance, the boss has accumulated many years. The homestay occupies two single-family villas, and the boss owns a bus! The two of us sat on the exclusive bus to enjoy the pick-up and drop-off service. My chin was frightened. I never came to Baima to see the hotel's own bus.
The location is great. Five minutes walk from base camp, one of Hakuba's core bus stops. If you go to Wuxi 47, it will be more convenient.
Besides the room. It is very large and has its own separate toilet (including bathroom), which is not available in many Japanese-style hotels. The only shortcoming of the room was the two of us, but there were only two single beds and no large bed. A new family room was given to us when I checked in. It was also three single beds, so maybe there is no double room?
The room we booked did not include meals. The breakfast was 600 yen per person. We thought it was not expensive and we tried it. Em, there was only one slice of toast and unlimited coffee milk cereal, which was too monotonous and not worth trying. It is better to go out a few hundred meters to buy breakfast near base camp.
Finally the owner is very enthusiastic (this is the advantage of all Japanese homestays). There are local apples for sale at the front desk. The price of 100 is a conscience. I stayed for 3 nights and ate 5 apples. It was very sweet.
GGuest UserThe room is not small for Japan, it is clean and the view outside the window is beautiful. The service is friendly and there is a semi-open-air private hot spring. Although there is no scenery, it is still very comfortable to take a bath after skiing. The restaurant and bar are both very nice. I met the owner and had a pleasant half-day, half-English chat with him. The owner also treated me to many drinks. The only downside is that there is no elevator, which makes it a little troublesome to move luggage. If you want to eat at the restaurant, remember to make a reservation one day in advance.
MMeowVanWhat an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel.
Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself.
We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet.
In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies.
Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!
FFANGThe breakfast is very good and dinner can also be settled at the hotel. With the child 7 years old, you can live in the twin room, but the site has added extra money. When you place the order, you can't say clearly that you want to add it. It is very dissatisfied. In addition, I don't know if I have already deducted a previous fee for the previous order. The site paid the full amount anyway, and the credit card bill came out and checked. The location of the hotel is on the edge of the village, but the village is not big, but instead it is close to the high road, and it is very quick to go out from a road in the snow. The spa bathroom is very comfortable with large pools and outdoor pools. Ski can be placed in the basement, snowshoes, coin-operated clothes.
GGuest UserIt looks like a hotel for skiers, but I was a little surprised to see so many people using it even in the summer. The surrounding hotels looked just like I had imagined since it was summer. I could tell from the car license plate numbers that there were many customers from all over the place. Inside, there is also an annex, and it's so spacious that it's hard to grasp the whole thing. The gondola station is nearby and you can walk there. There are discount tickets for gondolas, so if you buy them here, you'll save money.
