Amazing
栗栗The hotel that left a deep impression will have a chance to come back. The hotel is in a great location, close to the edge of the cliff. Invincible sea view. All kinds of swimming pools are suspended on the edge of the cliff at different heights. There are sea water, natural water temperature and heated water temperature, which enjoy great value. There are 2 large restaurants, and the rest of the outdoor restaurants, bars, and salons are so many that they have stayed for a few days and have not found out. The big restaurant buffet has a cabaret show in the evening, and the male and female singers play piano. There are tabloids in the hotel, 6 languages, English and American languages, and there are American and British versions. Service staff gentlemanly, friendly and friendly. Different restaurants with a variety of flavors to choose from.
GGuest UserThe staff is friendly, the room is a good size and everything was clean. The room has a mini fridge, slippers and robes. They also provide pool towels. There is a cleaning service everyday and they change all the towels, including the ones for the pool. The bed was not the best as it was quite hard and had a spring mattress. We enjoyed the indoor pool, the jacuzzi and sauna. We haven't tried the outdoor pool as we only spent time there in the evenings. The breakfast was good. I'd come back as it was a nice experience overall.
RRui VitorinoThe hotel facilities and location are amazing! The rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is good with many options. The only negative point is the lack of detail in the service. The y offer only one water bottle per room and charge for refill, they offer no vanity kit or sleepers. Emitem magnólia could be a top hotel in Madeira if they pay more attention to the details.
Overall we had a good time anyway.
GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located near the Lido area; great restaurants around the hotel and the airport bus stops right outside the hotel (return cost 8 euros)! Staff really friendly also and the team arranged a little surprise for my partner s birthday also. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast buffet was really good too with lots of choices. Hotel amenities were good too. All in all a great hotel. We also enjoyed the 30min walk to the old town from hotel but appreciate this may not be for everybody…though plenty taxis and the local bus route are a skip and a hop away.
MMuhammadOne of the main reason why I booked this 4 star hotel was that it said it had a large space gym area as mentioned before booking, so I assumed it being a 4 start Hotel it will have decent weights and machines. However, when I arrived, the gym didn’t have a pull-up bar or a cable machine, the dumbbell weights were very basic that went up to only 10 kg. That is absolutely disappointing considering this was a 4 start Hotel. To be honest the multiuse cable machine is pretty much all you need as it has everything to be exercise all your body parts! I love my pullups hence I had to find a way to do them so I found a metal gate just outside the gym in the tennis court believe it or not I used the gate frame to do my pullups (see picture). Another downfall is that it didn’t have a water fountain in the gym area. You had to go up to the reception and buy bottle of water for €2. Good luck to those who suffer from quick dehydration.
I expected the room to have a kettle which you wouldn’t think twice whether it will have it or not. But guess what? You have to pay extra to have a kettle in your room during your stay between €5 to €7. That’s just jokes, I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry!
Other than that, the staff were very friendly and the location is close to the sea, and approximately 11 minutes drive to the main city area in Funchal.
I’d say the breakfast is good, but the same time pretty standard what you would get in a 3 star hotel. I was expecting better variety. The breakfast is always the same every day. Hardly never changes. However, the dinner menu has a rotation.
Overall, I would give this place 3.5 out of 5!
I hope they can accommodate the above the next time I visit.
DDani-11My second stay at Alto Lido this year and it was even better than the first. Staff is professional and polite.
I was kindly surprised with a room upgrade which was beautiful and comfortable. Lovely modern hotel.
I will definitely be back again.
GGuest UserThe experience in Pestana Ocean Bay was quite pleasant, the collaborators were always very sympathetic and attentive, helped whenever it was necessary, have certainly a team concerned with the guest, careful, in a questionnaire I answered in the middle of my stay, I mentioned that there could be grapes in the buffets (this because my daughter loves them very much, and the grapes were a fruit that had not yet appeared), I made this comment thinking that it would not be read, however, on the day after arrival at the room we had a beautiful grape plate, at that moment, we felt shaved as if we were at home, it was a gesture of care that left us sensitive, are of congratulations That is why and because they actually read the questionnaires, which we often think no one will read and care about what is written there. They have a good organisation, presentation and logistics of everything that involves a stay: meals, animation at the end of the day, excursions/passages, etc.
Continuation of excellent work ☺️ thanks.
GGuest UserI chose a hotel with an ocean view at an affordable price.
As a result, there was a hotel with very spacious rooms, panoramic window, coffee/tea, a comfortable bathroom with bid, a large balcony. The only moments: a separate bed for the couple and a weak shower. Noise of night waves on the amateur:) We had to close the door on the balcony, though it was quite noisy.
The service is very friendly.
Breakfast is delicious and fresh. There are plenty of baking, drinks, cuts and hot.
I didn't expect there would be a free transfer to the center and back. Absolute plus this hotel because it is not in step-by-step access from the center.
The views, the purity near the hotel, its beach is amazing.
Then we lived in the private sector and a lot of what looked at the island, but the first two nights in Orca Praia remained in our heart 💘
With respect,
Elena from Russia
GGuest UserThe hotel is located just outside of old Funchal which was about 10 minutes drive away. There are lots of good restaurants near by and nearest beach is appropriately 7-10minutes walk down from the hotel. Good breakfast options. Nice location for a sunset view from the outdoor pool area.
SsfoxonA lovely Hotel, with a high level of service and a great restaurant an amenities. The location is only good for those willing to taxi or drive to Funchal- otherwise it is a 30-35minite walk, allow more time for the way back all uphill.
The decor of the rooms is dated- very 1990s in style, the carpet is wearing thin in places. The pool side area is nice but could benefit from a modernization to make the decor match the level of service.
Can't fault the stay otherwise.
Shout out to Sandra, the Maitre 'd, D for her amazing level of service. Obregado!
