Travelodge Hexham
"One night stay. Delighted with the welcome and quality of the room. Clean, modern. Walkable to the town and the Station. Lovely views from the third floor. Did not take breakfast, preferring to walk to town. Close to many supermarkets... Would stay again without hesitation..."
Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort
"As regular visitors we always enjoy Slaley Hall. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, from a warm welcome at Reception to check out. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The facilities are good, as are the food and rooms. The location is good, perhaps the only downside is a lack of signage from the road for new visitors."
George Hotel
"Great base for exploring Northumberland. Good breakfast and evening meal."
The Twice Brewed Inn
"We stayed here because there was an event hosted by the place and it was very convenient just near the hotel. The tour itself was clean, but it was really small so it was hard to move around. However, everything else is OK."
The Queens Arms Hotel
"Just returned from a great weekend at nine banks youth hostel . It was a surprise 60th birthday and the accomodation was comfortable , welcoming and private . There was ample rooms mostly en-suite for 19 people to have privacy with their families. Kitchen was compact but more than adequate and very well stocked with utensils for large groups . Drying room and dehumidifier worked efficiently and outside space with fire pit was superb . Short and longer walks available from door step with excellent cycling on quiet open roads available. My daughter ( party organiser ) informs me that the owners were most helpful and relaxed . They gave clear instructions to help us park a large number of cars / vehicles . Dogs loved the outside enclosed and secure space . Many thanks - a birthday to remember"
The Beaumont Hexham
"Hi nice room very quiet and the food was nice but a bit pricy I would go again."

The County Hotel
"Close to the bus station, but on a busy road. Soundproofing isn't ideal."
The Coach and Horses
"We stayed in a Deluxe King bedroom which was superbly decorated and furnished and with well appointed bathroom. The whole stay was a delight and we would certainly stay here again. Food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were so helpful. "

"The hotel in the small town has a bar downstairs where many locals go to drink. The breakfast is delicious."
Battlesteads
"Comfortable room, nice selction of toiletries with pleasant scent. lovely food. Battlesteads was able to accommodate a pet dog ( pet pack also included) . Great selection for brealfast and tasty Ringtons coffee. This was a birthday break so only one night stay , Booked bed and breakfast, decided to add evening meal. The village of Wark is lovely to walk around, cross over bridge to football field one way and dog walk the other, weather helped make the stay as it was warm Autumn sunshine. Saw Grey Heron by the riverbank. Would recommend and would go again."
Anchor Hotel
"The room is very old and the bathroom facilities are very poor. It is not recommended to stay here."
Fountain Cottage Cafe and B&B
"Second stay here and the best so far as we had a great room, jacuzzi with TV. Clean, cosy and friendly with a top breakfast."
Gallow Law Cottage
Riverdale Hall Hotel & Leisure
"Room 9 stayed 26 - 27 May 2026 Wonderfully peaceful location The rooms are clean and well maintained and the staff are the very pleasant. The food was great . The view was breathtaking as we had a balcony. A little outdated and needs some TLC. I enjoyed the pool, pretty much had it to myself, again a bit of an update would be welcome. But on the whole would definitely return. Thank you Steve and Nikki 😁"
Langley Castle Hotel
"We had a wonderful birthday weekend at Langley Castle. The grounds are stunning, and the location is perfect for exploring the Northumberland countryside and coast. We stayed in the Castle Lodge, which was excellent. Huge thanks to the staff, especially Aidan and Ellie, for being so welcoming and professional. Dinner at the Josephine Restaurant was a highlight—the birthday surprise (chocolate truffles!) for my partner was a very thoughtful touch. After a superb cooked-to-order breakfast and a guided tour the next day, we left feeling very impressed. Highly recommended!"
Brown Rigg Guest Rooms
"The location is quiet and pretty. The room and bathroom were immaculate and very comfortable. I liked having the use of a modern shared kitchen and being able to park right outside. We stayed here to break a long journey, and would do so again."
Hollybush Inn
"Excellent service, food and rooms. Will be back"
The Pheasant Inn
"Great stay at The Pheasant Inn, whilst visiting the Kielder forest and Observatory. Nice room, lovely breakfast included - lots of choice - and a very nice evening meal. Staff lovely and nice to talk to. We're always polite and helpful. We booked this B&B specifically as we had a very late night visit to the observatory and it was no problem for us to return to our room at 1.45am. Comparing it to the other places we stayed throughout the week, we did think it was expensive considering the size of the room and comparing it to the other four locations we stayed at during our travels - one of which was a suite 6 times the size for almost the same price per night. We'd still happily recommend staying here!"
The Railway Hotel
"We stayed in the Radcliffe room.It was comfortable and clean although the bathroom was very small. The staff went above and beyond though and nothing was a bother. The cooked breakfast was nice and the bar is nice and clean.Would give it a go if your looking for somewhere to stay in the area."
The Bowes Hotel
"A simply amazing stay. Firstly Ian and his team helped us remedy an error made by ******* on booking rooms at the Bowes hotel. Really friendly and interpersonal staff along with extensive knowledge of the area and further beyond particularly Hadrian's Wall path along with the Roman Museums and Forts. The food served was amazing aswell, better than some other independent restaurants, also the Thai-cakes are a must try! The room is clean and tidy with a great buffet breakfast to boot, they also make lunch for your journey ahead. If you are staying at Bardon Mill, this is the place to be, just a walk away from the station that connects back to Newcastle. Friendly neighbourhood and locals that shares stories from their journeys and also fellow travellers from around the world mostly doing the Hadrian's Wall walk. I cannot fault this wonderful and cosy hotel and pub that is the Bowes Hotel!"
