"Overall, it was good, apart from a few inconveniences.
It's about a 10-minute drive from downtown Banff. They seem to operate a shuttle to town, but the schedule isn't very frequent.
Breakfast wasn't available, which was inconvenient, but there's a separate restaurant next to the lobby. The kitchen facilities were well-equipped. They didn't provide bottled water (they said tap water was fine to drink).
The facilities generally felt old, and perhaps because it was early June, the surrounding atmosphere was rather bleak. I was on the first floor, and there were no trees in front of the window, so I had to keep the curtains closed the whole time for privacy.
The heating made a noise like a tank passing by all night. Even when I turned off the heating in my room, I could hear the noise from other rooms like thunder, so I barely slept.
The showerhead in the bathroom was fixed to the wall, which was a bit awkward, and the hairdryer was very old-fashioned (mounted on the wall with a very loud motor).
The internet connection was almost nonexistent, making it difficult to check the weather or find travel information. I couldn't even send photos.
I requested room cleaning, but it wasn't done, which was surprising.
The indoor pool and outdoor heated pool were great for relaxing. However, the area around the outdoor pool was messy and dirty. When I tried to shower, only cold water came out, so I just rinsed off quickly and came back to my room to shower again."
