Yuye | Rest by Nanmen Bay, Drift Into an Exotic Island DreamNestled in the middle section of the coastal seawall at Nanmen Bay, Dongshan Island, three all-white buildings stand staggered against the sea, designated as Buildings A, B, and C respectively. This is Yuye (A Designer Guesthouse) — a sanctuary blending Southeast Asian island resort charm with bohemian romance.
White walls, old wooden beams, raw stone walls, tropical island greenery, and white curtains dancing gently in the breeze... Drawing on photographic composition, the designer masterfully integrates natural materials with light and shadow to create a space brimming with "breathability." Every corner, every ray of lingering light, whispers tales of the island’s relaxation and poetry.
We believe a true sea-view room should be a "breathing observatory of the sea." Thus, every guestroom at Yuye faces the azure sea and the double-sided lighthouse of Nanyu Island directly. At dawn, smart curtains glide open, letting the sound of waves and morning light flood the room. At night, sink into the embrace of latex mattresses and goose down quilts, drift off to sleep with movies or music, and let your dreams be steeped in the sea’s tenderness.
If you wish, hop on an electric scooter with your loved one in the afternoon, and chase the romantic and passionate sunset along the winding rainbow mountain road of Sufengshan on the island loop. Or savor a glass of champagne and delicious cuisine on the guesthouse terrace, watching the glow of the setting sun gild the sparkling sea. A short walk away lies a world of vibrant seafood stalls and ancient streets, where the aroma of local life fills the air. After a day of adventure, Yuye awaits you with a serene, candlelit ambiance and attentive service.
Here, time slows down naturally. Surrounded by mountains and sea, accompanied by the glow of dawn and dusk, every moment is a healing scene.
Yuye invites you to leave the hustle and bustle behind, and rediscover the romance and ease that life was meant to have, amid the gentle breezes of Dongshan Island.
With the sea, the sails, the glow of the sky, the wind, and you...
"I'm writing this review now on the bullet train leaving Fujian. I rarely review products I've bought or hotels I've stayed in, but this trip to Dongshan Island is worth recording. I came to Dongshan Island to relax, so I hoped to find a sea-view room with a terrace, where I could directly see and hear the sea. I searched for a long time without finding anything satisfactory until I saw Yu Ye. I thought, this is what I'm looking for. Although it wasn't cheap, it once again proved the saying: expensive things are good in every way except for the price, and cheap things are bad in every way except for the price. In summary: the environment is absolutely gorgeous, the pictures and descriptions match, it's clean and hygienic, and the service is attentive.
Facilities: It has everything you need, and if you ask the owner for anything missing, they'll provide it. The room smelled wonderful, and the various hard and soft furnishings revealed the owner's taste. By the way, the bottle opener was the same as mine at home; indeed, people with good taste use similar things.
Cleanliness: The white decor was spotless, showing the owner's almost obsessive attention to hygiene. Previous guests said they could walk barefoot on the floor, and that's no exaggeration.
Environment: The pictures and description match, you know what I mean, I won't say more.
Service: The owner, housekeeper, and staff provided attentive, meticulous, and warm service without being presumptuous, creating a subtle sense of closeness. Shuttle service is standard practice, the welcome fruit was beautifully packaged, and they even brought two large bags of Dongshan seaweed for my mother upon check-out. Oh, and if you're a high-quality guest like me, you can unlock the owner's hidden services (absolutely legitimate!), I won't go into details here, you can experience it for yourself if you're lucky.
Dongshan Island in late autumn may not have the cartoonish blue skies and clear blue sea of midsummer, but this encounter with Yuye truly healed me. Sitting on the terrace, listening to the waves crashing against the shore of Nanmen Bay, the clatter of fishing boats; watching the sky darken, the afterglow spread, until the stars appeared, I think this is the meaning of choosing Yuye, this is the meaning of travel."
