"I had high hopes for my stay at the Lakeshore, but unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to them. It feels like they're too focused on maximizing profits and less on guest experience. For example, the laundry room charges a fee, and another laundry room is only for backpackers, which I find illogical. The afternoon tea for hotel guests only offered two or three types of biscuits; they really shouldn't be calling that afternoon tea. On a positive note, the intern at the entrance was very enthusiastic and deserves praise."

"Conveniently located within a short walking distance from the Hualien train and bus stations, this accommodation offers easy access for travelers. The front desk staff were polite, friendly, and always helpful whenever we approached them for directions or recommendations. One thoughtful touch was the Hualien Food Guide folder provided by the hotel, which was especially useful for my family when deciding where to eat and exploring local specialties. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was exceptionally large with a reliable supply of hot water. We also appreciated the good soundproofing, which made our stay comfortable and restful. If you are visiting Hualien, it is advisable to bring mosquito repellent, as there tend to be quite a number of mosquitoes in the area."

"Big thanks for providing a baby crib. There are so many great food options nearby, and it's not far from Gongzheng Baozi. You can also buy local souvenirs close by. My only minor issue was the water pressure in the shower on the 8th floor was a bit low, regardless of whether others were using water or not. If that could be improved, it would definitely be a great accommodation choice."

"Beautiful hotel! The building is a little older but everything is very well maintained, the rooms are large, very clean, bright, comfortable and pretty, I've been travelling for 6 weeks now and this was the best place I stayed at so far. The staff are very kind and helpful, I had some issues due to a typhoon and had to spontaneously add another night but it all went smoothly. The location is excellent, you can even see the main station from the entrance of the hotel, that's how close it is! All the buses to all the sightseeing places (and everywhere else too, really) depart from the main bus station, which is even closer still (and Dongdamen night market is actually also still walking distance, takes about half an hour). Nonetheless it was nice and quiet at night. Plenty of convenience stores around too and a full supermarket is right next to it as well. Breakfast was good too! Would absolutely stay there again and now that I'm in the next hotel (definitely not as nice already)I kind of miss it already..."

"Breathtaking view from B&B! There's shuttle services from Hualien station to the B&B which is convenient for first timer in Hualien! Staff there were friendly and patient in explaining things to note and also they provide free rental of bicycles but do obey to their traffic regulations when riding! Will definitely be back for it next time❤️"

"I found the service to be genuinely excellent. They even have a detective game on the first floor! Both the front desk staff at check-in and Yu, who helped me at check-out the next morning, provided fantastic service. The only downside was the environmental noise coming from the AC vent in the room. I tried changing to another room, but it had the same very loud mechanical hum. In the end, I just had to make do with the original room, which, of course, meant a bad night's sleep 🥲. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're sensitive to noise."

"The Hualien Station branch of Kindness Hotel offers excellent value for money. The room rate is incredibly inclusive; not only does it cover breakfast, but also afternoon tea and a late-night snack, so you practically don't have to worry about food from check-in until evening. The hotel also provides free ice cream, washing machines, and dryers, along with laundry detergent, which is super convenient for travelers needing to wash clothes. The location is also great, very close to Hualien Station—just about a seven or eight-minute walk. This makes it really easy for catching trains or planning your Hualien itinerary. Even though it's a 3-star hotel, the actual experience exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was also more varied than I anticipated. Overall, the stay felt thoughtful in terms of service and practical in terms of facilities. It's truly ideal for travelers looking for convenience and great value."

"A Scenic Stay with a Convenient Catch My stay at Hotelday Hualien was a bit of a mixed bag. It has some genuinely charming touches and a great view, but its location and certain amenities require some adjustment. Location & Transportation: The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the Hualien Train Station, which is fantastic if you're arriving by rail. However, I soon realized that the train station is not the city center. The main downtown area is a significant distance away—about a 40-minute walk. This means you'll either need to plan for long walks or rely on taxis and buses to get to the main dining and night market areas. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's something to be aware of. The Room: The room itself was a highlight. It was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. The best feature was the large window that faced the train station, with a stunning backdrop of the mountains. It was incredibly scenic and made the room feel bright and open. While the room was comfortable, I did notice that the overall design and some of the furniture felt a bit dated. It's clean and functional, but don't expect a super modern aesthetic. Amenities & Service: This is where the experience was a bit uneven. The gym was quite disappointing. It only had a stationary bicycle and a treadmill. There were no weights, no multi-gym, nothing for anyone hoping for even a basic strength workout. It felt more like an afterthought than a proper facility. On the other hand, the service had some truly thoughtful highlights. When we asked for ice, the hotel staff kindly delivered some to our room, which was a nice touch. The Special Touch: The most memorable part of the stay was a small, heartwarming gesture. The hotel provided us with complimentary postcards. The unique part? They offered to mail them for us, but not right away. They will send them exactly one year later. It's a lovely idea—a little time capsule from your trip that arrives as a surprise in the future. Overall: Hotelday Hualien offers spacious, comfortable rooms with beautiful mountain views, and its proximity to the train station is a plus for travelers. The thoughtful service, like the ice delivery and the ”postcard to your future self” program, adds a warm, personal touch. However, the distance from the city center and the very basic gym are drawbacks. It's a solid choice for a comfortable night's sleep near the station, especially if you appreciate sentimental gestures, but be prepared for the travel time to the main attractions."

"Well strategic location Hotel. The room is bright. But the room housekeeping is very poor. Eventhough i requested to clean the room, the auntie did not clean it. She just tidy up the bed very fast and change new towel. Never vacuum/mop the floor, dust and hair on the floor very obviously. So don’t expect she vacuum the bed if u request to change the bed sheet. Got flea/ bed bugs. I thought my eczema flare up. But once both my parents also experienced the same. And I noticed the bed sheet got a few spots a little dot. Then yeah it’s bed bugs. I hope the housekeeping auntie can make it better."
