"Lakeshore Hotel Hualien Taroko has three buildings, which can be a bit confusing, but the staff were all very polite and patiently explained everything. The breakfast in the restaurant was abundant, delicious, and offered a wide and refined selection. I didn't realize when booking that breakfast wasn't included, so I added it for 500 per person, which I felt was well worth it. The room was clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. They also provided complimentary afternoon tea snacks. The surrounding environment is natural and spacious, and you can walk to the beach in just a short while. Overall, I was very satisfied."

The whole hotel uses barrier-free facilities, which is convenient for passengers with disabilities and luggage. The atrium of the hotel also has a well-designed texture landscape. It is more beautiful, and it is very suitable for groups or family and friends to travel.
"It is located right next to Hualien Train Station, but it is the West Exit instead of the Main Exit. You need to walk pass a pedestrian bridge located inside Hualien Station to get to this exit.
The hotel itself is very clean and cozy. It has quite a few convenient stores nearby, and it also provides free snacks and fruit for customers.
One thing to take note is, the hotel door is not a magnetic lock, instead it is a conventional key lock. So don’t expect the door to lock by itself when you go out. But this might sometimes be a plus point because you don’t need to be worried about the situation where you being locked outside and forgot to bring your room key."

"Had a very underwhelming experience for the money that we paid for this hotel. Decor was very outdated (i.e. 2000s), which was understandable as this is an old hotel. Service staff was quite rude when we asked for directions and recommendations for food and things to see around the area. Do note that the carpark is very small and there are no parking lots surrounding the area. When we checked in, the carpark attendant told us that their carpark lot was at full capacity."

The staff were friendly and all facilities were clean.
There is a common space next to the reception, but it is not face-to-face, so it may be a little difficult to talk to other guests.
My bed was a double and spacious, but there was only one power outlet, so I couldn't use the bed lamp and adapter at the same time."

"Well strategic location Hotel. The room is bright. But the room housekeeping is very poor. Eventhough i requested to clean the room, the auntie did not clean it. She just tidy up the bed very fast and change new towel. Never vacuum/mop the floor, dust and hair on the floor very obviously. So don’t expect she vacuum the bed if u request to change the bed sheet. Got flea/ bed bugs. I thought my eczema flare up. But once both my parents also experienced the same. And I noticed the bed sheet got a few spots a little dot. Then yeah it’s bed bugs. I hope the housekeeping auntie can make it better."

"I cannot recommend this place. I wanted to treat myself to something nice, but woke up in the middle of the night with a headache, as my room was running out of air. None of the windows open! I tried all settings of the AC, which required me to call my wife in China, as it was all in Chinese, but still there was never enough fresh air. I then cancelled my booking.
Also, the floor-to-ceiling windows only work if you are on the 5th floor. I was on the second floor, basically street level and had eye contact with construction workers on the street. In that context, smaller windows would have been better, as you are basically seen by everyone passing by on the street (see photos). "

GGuest UserBest best best hotel we have ever stayed in. Services provided was excellent. All staff were very genuinely. It really felt like a 5 star hotel. We stayed in another 5 star hotel in Jiaoxi which is No. 1 in Jiaoxi but the service cannot be matched. Well done to all the staff.
Room was always clean. Thank you to the staff who cleaned our spectacle. It was a nice gesture. Different snacks were topped up everyday. The face mask provided was so good!
Surrounding of the hotel was very nice. We had the gorge view and OMG! We don't mind waking up to this view everyday. We hope they will contruct a stairs for guest to go down to the gorge. It is a waste to just see it from the top.
Breakfast was good. We could see that they have made an effort to label which is vegetarian and which is not. It's very thoughtful of the restaurant. However, we had a seafood porridge and thought it was purely seafood but notice there was chicken in it but not written. Maybe they can improve in this.
Kids are very well entertained in this hotel. They have a huge play room for them. Indoor pool with heated pool is enough to keep the kids occupied for 2hours at least. They also have daily activities and some are free.
Thank you Silk Place for the wonderful stay. We will be back.

The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of dining options nearby, which was very convenient. Ample parking was also available.

SSunnyhuangThis hostel is conveniently located right across from Hualien train station and the transfer station. The breakfast is incredibly generous with new dishes every day, and the entire space is very clean. Having a self-service washing machine is also a big plus. There's a 7-Eleven right next door, and you're greeted with beautiful views of layered mountains as soon as you step outside.

- sauna with a sea view.. what else to ask for

- comfy rooms and excellent service all round by all staff
- bath tub near the window where you can soak and see the sea
- coin operated laundry room with washers and dryers (affordable plus only two each.. so may have to wait)
- small snacks and beverages provided for guests daily on the ground floor
Negatives:
- only really gripes is the location.. about 2 km away from the city centre so not much to do in the neighbourhood
- sea view room is actually the view of the port and a distance away… technically hotel is not wrong.. but should lower your own expectations

Knowing we were from out of town helping out, they upgraded us on the spot since there was a room available and introduced us to the hotel's facilities. It's close to Dongdaemun Night Market, within walking distance, and on nearby Zhongzheng Road, there are convenience stores, breakfast shops, daily necessities stores, drugstores, and bubble tea shops – very convenient. Getting a taxi is also easy. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay.

GGr3gBI stayed here for a few days and can only recommend it! The train and bus stations are just a few steps away, and the city center is within walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable, with many thoughtful touches such as free coffee, snacks, and even ice cream!

The Daoxiang double room we stayed in was very elegant and large, especially the oversized bed which was super comfortable to sleep on. I am an elderly person who is undergoing neck rehabilitation and I am very picky about beds and pillows, but I slept very soundly and deeply here. A big thumbs up to the hotel owner for choosing the hard bed facilities. The room is super clean. Although the hardware equipment is not new, it has a simple and elegant charm, which I like. It's a bit like Kung Fu tea that needs to be savored slowly.
We are an elderly couple who came to Hualien to visit friends. Before checking in, we requested a quiet room with no smoke. We could not stay in the side room due to our physical condition. Although the room had some minor flaws in sound insulation, the hotel met our needs. The peaceful and pleasant environment in the rice fields will give you a good night's sleep.
The backyard also gets high marks, and is perfect for a relaxing stroll.
The breakfast was rich and delicious.
This is very suitable for us who don't need dazzling amusement facilities and come here to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing accommodation environment.
The only drawback is that they don't provide dinner, but we solved that by using the hotel's instant noodles and ordering takeout via mobile phone.
The price is very reasonable and it is a highly recommended accommodation.

TTobias TDuring my recent trip to Hualien, I had the unique opportunity to stay at the Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel, and it truly exceeded my expectations. As soon as I arrived, the prison theme instantly caught my attention. The rooms were designed to resemble prison cells, which added an intriguing and immersive element to my stay.
One thing that stood out to me was the absence of a traditional reception desk. Instead, to gain entry, all guests need to do is call the contact number provided, which adds a touch of mystery to the experience. The lady working there was exceptionally helpful and patient, even taking the time to explain how to use the facilities in Chinese. Her assistance made my stay all the more enjoyable.
As a solo traveler, I couldn't help but appreciate the eerie vibes that the place exudes, especially since I'm a fan of horror. @@travel_with_the_sunIt's clean, it's close to the train station, where you can rent a scooter to explore Taroko National Park, also have a gas station next door to refill your scooter and you are next to the main road to go to the National Park. There is enough stuff to cook yourself something. Communication with the landlord on self check-in went well and I could check-in earlier because my bed was free, actually I was the only guest in the dorm on my first of two nights.
It was calm and the entire hostel & bathroom was very clean. I liked, that you can buy razors, one-way towels, toothbrush kit for a small fee, even if I didn't need it.
The only downside, and that's why I gave it -3 stars in amenity was, that the mattress was so hard, it felt like sleeping on the floor. The room had a bit of strange moisture smell, but I could get used to it quickly. If there would be a thicker, less hard mattress, that place would get total points.
On the back door / balcony you have a nice view of the mountains. (The picture attached is taken from the road, but if you crop the lower half, it's what you see)
