"We stayed in rooms 7603 and 7609. The hotel's location is excellent, and the sea view from the sixth floor is beautiful. The service was also good. The downside is that room 03 had a strong musty smell, and in room 09, we found a small gecko. We called the service hotline, and they quickly helped us remove it, but the hotel really should do a thorough check before guests check in. The facilities are very old; the TV only showed channels and was very laggy, and it only had HDMI input, no screen mirroring functionality. The Bluetooth connection on the phone only played sound, so we just went to sleep. In the evening, we went to a nearby restaurant and tried Wenchang chicken; the coconut chicken was quite crispy, and the steamed chicken was very tender – both are worth trying. We also ordered stir-fried beef because we saw many cows on the way, but the beef was very tough, so I wouldn't recommend it. The coconut rice was also quite delicious. The next morning, we went to a nearby mountain to watch the sunrise, but unfortunately, the clouds were too thick, and we couldn't see it."

The room is quite spacious and the bed+pillows are very comfortable. The sound-insulation is great, you can’t hear any sound from the street.

"This hotel was a pleasant surprise for me. As a beachfront hotel, it's rare for an older property to be outstanding, given the constant battle with sea breezes and typhoons, unless it's perpetually undergoing renovations.
Let's start with the pros:
1️⃣ The room was very clean, not a speck of dust anywhere. My child loves to touch and crawl everywhere, and even after wiping surfaces with wet wipes, they remained spotless.
2️⃣ When I reported an odd smell in the room, they responded quickly with a solution. Several staff members even followed up to ensure the issue was resolved, which was highly impressive.
3️⃣ The breakfast offered a wide variety. We booked a family room, which included breakfast for two adults. When my 80-year-old relative joined us at the restaurant, they didn't charge us for an extra person, which was a very thoughtful touch.
4️⃣ Many hotels push for good reviews, but this one didn't at all. Giving them a positive review truly feels like a genuine act of kindness, yet their service was exceptional. Every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful. Big points for Wenchang!
Cons:
1️⃣ The hotel facilities are a bit dated. For example, the balcony door was a bit stiff, and there were noticeable gaps around the room door.
2️⃣ The complimentary travel photography was difficult to review.
3️⃣ The family-friendly amenities could be improved.
4️⃣ The beach wasn't maintained, but it was very close and uncrowded."

"The hotel price was reasonable, and the family room we booked was spacious enough. Having two bathrooms was also very convenient. The service was good; our room came with three breakfasts, and they even gave us an extra one. However, there was one issue: between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM, there was a tremendous amount of noise from upstairs. I have no idea what they were doing up there – were they fighting or what? It went on for about half an hour."

"This hotel just opened two months ago after a renovation, so all the facilities are brand new. The staff are very friendly, and from my window, I could see the Lincheng Hotel. The bedding was also excellent. It's definitely a hotel worth staying at again.
About 100 meters diagonally opposite the hotel, there's a Changrong Chinese and Western Teahouse. By 7:30 AM, it's already bustling! The staff were so busy the owner even had to step in. You can see the dishes on display, or order from your table. Don't miss out on their tea! There are also many other delicious food options on both sides of the street. It's about 1 kilometer from Wennan Old Street. Just remember not to go after dark; I went yesterday (March 3rd), and all the shops were closed, which was a bit spooky! (See last picture)"

"Staying at the Wenchang Jinshi International Hotel again was a great experience. The hotel's location is superb, just a two or three-minute walk to Gaolong Bay Beach. In the morning, you can enjoy a breathtaking sunrise from the balcony, and in the evening, a stroll along the beach with the sea breeze is incredibly relaxing. Transportation around the hotel is also convenient; it's not far to attractions like Dongjiao Coconut Grove and Global Wharf, making travel worry-free.
The service was even more warm and thoughtful. Our butler provided attentive follow-ups throughout our stay, proactively addressing our check-in needs and helping us plan our itinerary. Any issues we had after checking in were quickly and efficiently resolved with patience. The staff were enthusiastic and polite, always greeting us with a smile. Such meticulous service made us feel incredibly welcome.
Since it was our honeymoon, the hotel even helped with decorations, which was a very thoughtful touch ❤️.
The hotel restaurant also offers seafood processing services. We bought seafood at Global Wharf and brought it back to the hotel to be cooked. The price was the same as outside, and the dishes tasted great!"

"I chose this hotel for its proximate to Qishui Bay Beach and the price. The buildings are all modern, bright and clean. My room was a delight: spacious and with air-conditioning in both the living room and bedroom. There is a gym with weights and running machines, and a decent laundry room attached to that. Breakfast was fresh and had a reasonable variety. When I visited (May 2025) there were only a couple of restaurants immediately near the hotel, but many family-run eateries are about a 12-minute walk away, towards the town to the west.
Special thanks to staff member, Divan, who spoke with me in English and was very helpful. Aside from Divan, all the staff were warm and welcoming."

GGuest UserThis hotel is amazingly clean and at tip top condition as compared to Junhao Hotel during my stay in Hainan. Though it is a 5-8mins car ride from city, but, the it is a very pleasant stay. Highly recommend if you are looking for an accommodation in Wenchang. Oh..remember to purchase their shampoo and conditioner. It is so nice! Room is super big as well!! 🥰

GGuest UserPaid another 100rmb upon check in to upgrade to a twin bed room, which was not available on Trip.com at the time of booking.
I liked that the room was rather spacious, and the breakfast had a pretty nice chinese spread. Location of hotel is also very near the railway station.
However, one of the beds was very dirty, with stray hairs and other weird threads on it. Couldn't be bothered to get a change of sheets for just a one-night stay, but this was quite unexpected considering how clean the rest of the room was. There are also no convenience stores near the hotel, but this was mitigated by the fact that you can basically call delivery for whatever, whenever, and the hotel robot would bring it up to your room. Another point - there's no hair conditioner provided and the shampoo provided, whilst smelling good might dry out your hair a bit.
Service at the front desk was no frills, not particularly welcoming but the breakfast staff were nice and kind. Still a pretty decent one night stay in Wenchang.

Overall, it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay; the service, environment, and hygiene were all satisfying. It's suitable for both business trips and leisure travel. PPaul. SShort bus ride from Wenchang railway to hotel. Good location, next to river. 7 floors with 1 lift. Laundry has 1 commercial dryer and 1 washer, very efficient. Room n hotel generally clean, tastefully furnished. Our room has balcony facing river. 2 single beds, 2 bedside tables, 2 sofa chairs, 1 desk with chair, 4 pillows, clean and comfortable. Separate bath/toilet, big size, bath & face towels provided, floor towel mat. Std amenities, but paper cups. Disposable room slippers, but no bathroom slippers. Water drainage good. Breakfast little choice, not so good. Better to eat in Lao Ba Cha few doors away. Plenty of parking space. Good location. Nice to do river walk. Night markets about 10 mins walk away. Easy to take buses.

GGuest UserIn wenchang,this is considered a newer hotel. The breakfast spread is good. But has to make sure that when you check out,the front desk has done it well as we encountered problem when we check in another hotel in sanya and discovered that the city comfort hotel staff didn't check out for us through their computer so we couldn't check in into another hotel in sanya until we called them to do so. Wasted quite a bit of time for them to do so on the phone.

The hotel is very dated. Though the bedroom was decently clean, the bathroom was a mess. It had stain marks all over the walls. The groutings in the shower cubicle had mild dew stains and so was the anti-slip bath mat. It is definitely not fit to be used. The foldable wooden windows above the wash basin had rotted and the paint was coming off.
Coordination between front office and dining room staff was poor resulting in me being questioned about my eligibility to have breakfast. A moment of embarrassment. However the manager apologised and sent us a complimentary fruit platter and a pot tea.

GGuest UserI brought my children to Wenchang to participate in a competition. When I checked in, I felt bad. The two ladies at the front desk were chatting with each other. Because they were speaking in local dialect, they didn't know what was said.
However, it felt good to stay for five days. They would not take the initiative to clean the guest room or deliver water without request.
The room we stayed in was quite quiet, but it was impossible to sleep in this place without air conditioning, it was too hot.

Front desk not really helpful. Just want you to go as it was the whole time ”OK, OK...” and ”I'll take you to your room”...
But no help with luggage, nor an answer if the kitchen would have something for me to eat... I sent my list of allergies (gluten, dairy, egg, honey and soy) to the hotel's wechat the evening so that they could give it to the kitchen...
First room:
The fridge was not cold.
Bathroom floor wet and entrance floor dirty 😰
The manager came and was friendly and helpful. He helped me with my luggage to another room 8505, which was larger.
Here the fridge was also not really making cold and switched off when going out. They couldn't give an extra card for electricity.
In the morning the manager showed me the different food at the buffet that I could eat, but I never received the pork etc, he promised the previous evening, for breakfast nor answered my message when I asked if I should wait for it...
For breakfast I could eat the fruit and in a steam basket a piece of corn-on-the-cob, sweet potato, yam and taro. They also had corn flakes.
Interesting they had 3 milk options: cow milk, soy milk and coconut milk...
The second evening I spent an hour on Wechat with reception to find out if the kitchen could prepare something for me with my allergies - I did give it the previous evening.... Then I went for a walk on the beach... When I came back, they hadn't prepared the fish! The manager gave me a coconut with a straw to drink the juice...
So I only wasted my time to find out if they could prepare something - I did give them my list in Chinese of what I cannot eat...😰 Luckily I always have some food with me...
The fish tanks are outside the dining room so you can choose your fish fresh.... As in most places in China 😊

If you do not have transport, it is a bit far, but if you want to go and rest for a few days, away from crowds, then this is a good place 😎🤠🌻🏝️🏖️
