The best part of skiing is spending time in the midst of magnificent nature. The NASPA Ski Garden spreads out in front of the hotel. The ski center is fully equipped with ski rentals, a pro shop, and a ski school, so you can enjoy the best of ski resorts. Please note that snowboarding is prohibited as this is a ski resort only. The 800m2 large baths for men and women allow you to enjoy the natural hot springs while looking out at the magnificent nature that spreads out before you. The spring quality is a weak alkaline simple hot spring, which is also known as a beauty bath. From superior rooms to suites, the rooms are spacious and prioritize livability. Every space at NASPA New Otani is filled with comfort that has not been fully pursued in resort hotels until now, and comfort that satisfies even long-term stays. The menus offered by NASPA New Otani are made with seasonal ingredients carefully selected by the chef. Western food, Japanese food, buffets, teppanyaki, sweets, and a fusion of tradition and techniques have been created to create a masterpiece that is unique to NASPA. After your meal, we recommend the main bar Capri, ASOBI BAR Festa, or the karaoke room.

"NASPA New Otani Perfect family stay with spacious rooms and great snow park for kids! ”We had a wonderful stay at NASPA New Otani. The hotel's location is very convenient, not far from the train station, and the free shuttle bus service is available throughout the day, which made our travels so easy. We stayed in a Japanese Style Room, and it was incredibly spacious at 50 square meters. It was perfect for our family of three (parents and our 3-year-old child). There was plenty of room for our little one to run around and play comfortably without feeling cramped. The private snow park at the hotel is fantastic, especially for young children. Our child had so much fun playing in the snow, and it felt very safe and family-friendly. We are truly impressed with the hospitality and the facilities. We are already planning to come back and stay here again next year! Highly recommended for families.”"

"The hotel's location is excellent. You can see the Yuzawa Grand Hotel nestled on the mountainside right from the west exit of Echigo-Yuzawa Station. It's about a 5-minute walk, though the large, steep slope at the hotel entrance requires careful walking, especially after a snowfall in Echigo-Yuzawa and when pushing luggage, to avoid slipping. We booked a Japanese/Western-style room, and the hotel gave us a room on the 7th floor of the South Wing, directly facing the station. The views were absolutely superb, especially the distant mountains after a snowfall – truly the 'Snow Country' I'd imagined. The room had two beds, and a futon was set up in the Japanese-style area, making it perfect for families with two children on a ski trip. There are two onsen (hot springs) on the hotel's first floor, and the open-air bath is particularly memorable, especially when you catch a heavy snow while soaking outdoors. An unforgettable experience! The hotel exudes the charm of an established onsen hotel, with attentive and meticulous service. Yukata and towels are changed daily. Although the facilities show their age, they are still perfectly functional, especially the in-room mini-bar/sink area, which was convenient for eating bentos in the room after skiing each day. Oh, we didn't book breakfast or dinner; we got all our meals from the convenience store inside the station and nearby restaurants. The hotel's excellent service was also evident in many small details, such as the free rain boots at the entrance and the weather forecasts for various ski resorts. I particularly recommend the ski rental shop right outside the hotel; they have a great attitude, reasonable prices, and the ski gear and helmets are all very new. In summary, it was a very satisfying stay in every aspect. If I come back to Echigo-Yuzawa during the ski season, I will definitely stay here again!"

"The ski-in/ski-out access to the hotel was incredibly convenient, making it a one-stop shop for dining, entertainment, and relaxation. Although the room was small, it was well-equipped, and the view from the window was quite lovely. My only issue was the incredibly loud noise from some equipment that started around 6 AM each morning, waking me up three days in a row. Additionally, the hotel's dining options were all pretty mediocre and not great value for money."

"Everything about the service was top-notch. The food was all delicious, and there was plenty of it to fill you up, with kaiseki cuisine even including sake, and the option to choose one dish from the menu. After 10 PM, they offer a late-night snack called 'yonaki soba' (night-time ramen). It's quantity-limited, so when I went a little before 10 PM, many people were already waiting. The dining area has limited seating, but takeaway was an option, so I ate it in my room. From ice cream after a bath to Yakult in the morning, I was never hungry and felt full the entire time I was at the inn. It was wonderful. The breakfast was also voluminous, and you could have unlimited rice. There's also a private bath. While it doesn't have a showerhead, it's a perfect space to spend time with a loved one. It was available when I went in the evening. Overall, I was surprised by how few Japanese guests there were; most seemed to be Chinese or other Asian guests. I'd like to stay here again when I go skiing."

"One of the loveliest ryokans we've ever stayed at in Japan, wish we stayed for longer. Every part of the hotel is so beautiful and serves as a lovely photo backdrop. There is a lounge with coffee/tea in the mornings and alcohol and snacks in the evening. There is also a playroom (suitable for infants to 6years old). Service is top notch, everyone is so helpful and friendly. Extremely easy to communicate with them as the staff can speak English well. They gave us a map and told us where we could go for food or to the ski resorts and gave a lot of local advice. They provide all the amenities you need. They even have rain boots that you can borrow and wear in case your shoes are not waterproof. It snowed heavily while we were there and the staff are super attentive - they asked where we were headed to and suggested for comfort, that we wear the hotel's rain boots as they knew my partner's shoe wasn't waterproof/suitable to walk through the snow. Rooms are very clean, big and comfortable (only that the futons are a little thin). The onsens are rather small, but the outdoor onsen is so beautiful. They provide a shuttle service to the train station (upon request) , although it is a relatively short walk - 5mins - and easy to walk if there is no snow. 7 eleven right next to the train station and New Days inside the train station. We loved every single thing about this charming lovely hotel and we will definitely be back if we are in Echigo Yuzawa."

"The room was spacious, which was great for staying with kids. There's a small ski resort right behind the hotel, perfect for beginners. If you're heading to Yuzawa Nakazato Ski Resort, it's a bit of a walk. The shuttle bus is quite convenient, running between Yuzawa Station and the hotel, taking about 15 minutes, with a stop at Iwahara Ski Resort. Dining options are limited; the buffet was just okay, but the à la carte options were decent, though reservations are required for both. Lunch options were very sparse. A downside is that there's no free luggage storage. So, if you arrive early or leave late, you'll need to figure out what to do with your bags."

"I can't give this a good review! I've stayed at so many ryokans with dinner and breakfast included, but this Futaba really left a lot to be desired! First off, the guy at the front desk checking us in was so quiet, he didn't even give us the most basic information like which floor the hot springs were on; he just handed us an all-English hotel guide. Second, this is the only onsen hotel I've ever stayed in where the bathroom smelled, and even the carpet in the entryway by the toilet had a urine smell... Then, the hot spring was just a regular public bath, and there wasn't even an ice pop after soaking. Finally, when we left, the staff didn't help us bring our luggage from the lobby to the shuttle bus. I had to drag it to the bus myself, and then the staff finally came out to open the door and help us load it in. (We were the only family on the bus at the time) It's just a really hard experience to rate..."

"1. It is a hotel with a sense of age. When you enter the hotel, you have to change indoor slippers. Your shoes must be put in the shoe cabinet on the left. There is no key. The two service staff at the counter have an excellent attitude. The female staff have better English skills, but the age is quite old. They work hard! 2. There is a shuttle bus from Yuehou Yuze Station to the hotel. At the station's east exit No. 9, after arriving at the station, please go to the ski line diagonally opposite the exit. After entering, go forward to the left direction. There is a service counter, please send the hotel to you. message (There is the word Tangze Electric Hotel), tell the service staff to make an appointment for the shuttle bus (say Reserve shuttle bus), they will fill in the form for you, write a name and the number of people, and then they will help call the hotel to inform, and will tell you what time will arrive, Then wait at the station (there will be a map), and tell you what color the car is coming (the day is green); On the day of check-out, I will make an appointment with the hotel counter and say that I have to take a bus back to the station. The pick-up and drop-off timetable is placed at the counter for passengers to see. When I come back from the snow, I will tell you. The latest shift is 18:10. After that, I will ask the hotel to call a taxi for you. Or take a tram to the nearby Iwahara Ski Resort Front Station to Yuehou Yuze Station! 3. There will also be a shuttle bus from the hotel to the Iwhara ski resort (will sit in the middle of the ski resort). You can talk to the hotel counter the night before skiing. The earliest shift is 08:40, and the latest is 11:40. Come back from the ski resort from 13:00 every hour, and come back to the hotel at 17:00 at the latest. If you take a shuttle bus to Iwhara Ski Resort that day, the driver will ask you what time you want to take the car back in the afternoon. He will count the number of people. If the time is too late, there is a bus in the middle of the stomach to sit down to the mountain. The mountain will not be too far to the hotel! 4. The hotel can rent ski clothing and equipment. The price is cheaper than the ski resort, but it is still recommended to bring the clothes by yourself, because the garbage and snow tickets left by the previous guest were found in the rented clothing pocket on the same day. It is obvious that it should be hung up in time to wash, and the service style, The size selection is limited. It can be selected early. You can rent from head to toe (except for personal protective equipment). The clothing and helmet can be rented the night before. The skis and ski shoes can be rented on the same day (after 8 am, go to the ground floor, but still have to talk to the counter first); There is a discount for selling snow tickets for nearby snow fields at the other counter. People in need can buy them at the counter. It is a snow ticket exchange coupon. When you arrive at the snow field, you can change tickets with the ticket office! 5. The hotel has a dinner lunch box and breakfast buffet. They are all at their own expense. You can see the information in front of the counter. If you don't want to buy it, the hotel will go out and turn right for about 3 minutes. There is a super business Lawson. It is recommended to go to the hotel early to go to the super business to buy things. Because cooked food and rice ball sandwiches are easy to get light; there are two microwave ovens on the first floor of the hotel, a small compartment on the left side of the counter! 6. I lived in a Japanese-style room on the same day. It had a sense of atmosphere. There was a bathroom and a separate toilet. There was also a refrigerator, but no drinking water was provided. The bed had to be laid by yourself. The bedding was placed in the cabinet. There was a hotel instruction book on the table. How to shop! 7. There is a public bathhouse, a large pool (open until 2 am), there is an outdoor small pool to soak (only open until 11 pm), the bathhouse is on the right hand side of the same floor on the counter (with notices), and the bathhouse provides shower gel, shampoo and hair dryer. But towels or bath towels have to be brought from the room by yourself, and things are only placed in a basket, there is no locker, so don't bring valuables to the bathhouse! 8. The hotel floor is strange, the 2nd floor is the 1st floor of the lobby, so if the room number is 201, it is actually on the 1st floor, and the room number 301 is on the 2nd floor of the hotel, and so on! 9. When you check out, you can still store your luggage. Just talk to the counter. They will specify a lobby location for you. Remember to retrieve it that day! 10. Overall, this hotel is suitable for people who want to go to the Iwhara Ski Resort to live, because the ski resort is really close to here, but there are really no shops nearby to eat (but there is a supermarket nearby, and there is a gas station to refuel), the counter staff is very good, Hotel facilities are old, but do not affect the accommodation, there are elevators, there are wifi, there are vending machines on the first floor, there are shuttle buses, do not require the hotel to live more advanced and modern people, you can come to experience the atmosphere of the Japanese-style hotel, and the price will not be too high!"

2min walk from the West Exit of Yuzawa Station, this inn features open-air baths fed by the source spring with magnificent views and Koshihikari rice cooked in traditional metal pots.

"Great ryokan to stay in if you are skiing in the echigo yuzawa area. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you to most of the ski slopes via the blue line/route shuttle bus. The rooms are big enough (japanese tatami style) and the onsens are wonderful to use after a day out in the mountains. The only issues I had were the laundry washing and drying coin machines. There are only 2 washers and 2 dryers. The cost is much higher than other hotels we have been to, and the dryer was unable to dry our clothes fully. The clothes were roughly 70-80% dry, to which we hung it in our room overnight to air dry. That being said, I would still choose to stay here again as the convenience and location are unmatched."

"A truly enjoyable stay with beautiful views and a wonderful atmosphere I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The view from the room was amazing, and the Japanese-style room added a special touch that made the experience feel authentic and relaxing. I also loved the library and the overall cultural atmosphere of the hotel -- it created a calm and inspiring environment. The movie experience offered by the hotel was a great addition and made the stay even more memorable. Breakfast was also excellent: very nice, beautifully presented, and delicious. The overall service was incredibly thoughtful, and the staff were friendly and polite. From the pick-up service at the station to the evening welcome, everything was perfectly executed, and simple English communication was no problem. As for the accommodation, the room was in a traditional Japanese style, spacious and clean, with a great view outside the window. Although the building itself is a bit old, it's very well-maintained. The onsen (hot spring bath) was a highlight – the water, straight from the source, felt silky smooth, and the open-air bath offered expansive views, making for a truly relaxing soak. Overall, it's a charming and hospitable onsen ryokan where you can truly unwind.

Although this place isn't right on the ski slopes, they offer a shuttle service. The rooms are spacious enough, and the staff are friendly and can speak both Chinese and Japanese. They can also help you rent ski equipment, and the rental fees are much cheaper than at the ski center. The bathhouse has a nostalgic vibe. If you want breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you need to book with the owner in advance. The meals are affordable and come in generous portions. This is the best accommodation choice if you're planning a ski trip without a tour group.

The sauna has been closed due to COVID-19. A lame excuse indeed. The bathroom clock, which was previously pointed out in a review, is still broken. If they offer day-use bathing with designated times, they should either repair it or put up a new clock. The weather was cloudy when I checked in and then rained, but the next day was sunny. The view from my room was beautiful with beautiful autumn leaves.

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Echigo-Yuzawa Station to the hotel, but the hotel is located on a small slope. In winter, if there's heavy snowfall or too much accumulated snow, it can be a bit inconvenient to drag your luggage all the way to the hotel since there's no shuttle service. The hotel was newly renovated last year, so the rooms are very clean. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style. Dinner includes pan-fried steak, sashimi, and small hot pots, but the selection is pretty much the same every night. Staying for three nights, it did get a bit boring, so there's room for improvement in the dining options! The hotel has a drying room and a ski rental shop with discounts on ski passes. Walking to the nearest gondola station takes about 10 minutes, and carrying all the ski gear was a bit strenuous. The hotel is only a few minutes from the hot spring street, and it's very convenient to walk to a convenience store after a soak. Overall, the hotel has plenty of rooms, and I would choose to stay here again next time.

The tatami is very comfortable and I like it very much. The outdoor hot spring is great. Snowflakes are floating in the sky, and I can enjoy the snow-capped mountains and tree hangings while soaking in the hot spring! The staff are especially friendly and enthusiastic. Such a cozy place! Free laundry and hot drinks were much appreciated. There is a fireplace in the common area and a storage room for ski/snowboard equipment. I topped up for the meal plan and the food was great, but the cooking amenities are sufficient for those who wish to bring ingredients and cook their own food. Only thing was that the mattress was a little thin, but I only stayed 2 nights so it wasn't really a big issue to me.

We booked this hotel with the whole family to meet up with friends for a ski trip. It's an older hotel that recently reopened, and the facilities are decently maintained. If you're looking for a super luxurious experience, this might not be the place for you. However, the number of rooms and the space are quite generous for Japan, and all basic facility needs are met. Plus, there's an onsen and open-air bath on the top floor, which was incredibly therapeutic after a day of skiing. The front desk staff were all sweet, kind young women who spoke Chinese and provided thoughtful and attentive service throughout our stay. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Orange/Blue line, making it easy to get to the ski resort and the train station. The family room offered excellent value for money and comes highly recommended.

The room is spacious but ordinary. The room heater is old and traditional that made the room very dry and uneven temperature in different parts of the room. The water heater is not stable and sometimes it will shut down. The bed and pillow is uncomfortable. The hotel just beside the main road of village and our room windows are facing to the road, thus it is quite noise in the morning especially when it is raining or snowing. To be concluded, the room made us uncomfortable. Not recommended.
