Guest UserThis hotel is overall fantastic, especially for families with kids. It has both an indoor play area and an outdoor water park, plus the breakfast is extensive with options specifically for children. Both the Thai restaurant inside the hotel and the Western restaurant on the top floor are excellent. It's definitely worth staying here.

Anonymous UserMy friend and I ended a 4-day road trip from Bangkok to Chiang Rai at Le Méridien and honestly, we saved the best for last. After nights in Korat and Sukhothai, pulling into this property on the banks of the Kok River felt like a proper reward.
We had a private balcony overlooking the garden. I spent a good chunk of the morning just lying on the daybed out there, feet up, watching the trees sway.
Now the breakfast, which we almost didn’t have. We hadn’t booked breakfast but the front desk offered us a deal at check-in. We said yes without thinking too hard about it. Best spontaneous decision of the entire road trip. The restaurant, Latest Recipe, serves what I’d comfortably call the best hotel breakfast I’ve had in Southeast Asia. The centrepiece is their signature Khao Soi Gai, a rich, deeply fragrant broth made with freshly pressed coconut milk and Chiang Rai spices, topped with crispy noodles and served with pickled mustard greens, shallots and lime. I’ve had Khao Soi all the way up the north in Chiang Mai, on the road and this held its own against all of them. Alongside that came a stunning northern Thai sharing platter served on a banana leaf-lined bamboo tray, sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf, bitter melon, blanched vegetables, boiled eggs, crispy pork crackling and two house-made dips including a seriously good green chilli relish. All of this with mountain and river views through floor-to-ceiling windows and a proper cup of coffee in hand. The rest of the buffet — egg station, fresh fruit, smoothies, Western and Asian options was extensive and well executed.
Staff throughout were warm and attentive without being intrusive. The property is immaculate. Free parking was easy right in the main courtyard, a genuine bonus when you’re on a road trip.
If you’re driving through northern Thailand and ending in Chiang Rai, this is where you want to finish. And when they offer you the breakfast deal at check-in, say yes immediately. Le Méridien Chiang Rai meets my expectation.

Guest UserThis is a good hostel with a great location right by the bus station. You don't even need a taxi if you have luggage, as it's just around the corner.
We had a private room without windows, but it had air conditioning and ventilation. The shared showers were clean, though it felt like we were the only guests in the hostel despite its considerable size. In the morning, they offer a modest breakfast of toast, an egg, and jam, and you can also make coffee from the machine. The receptionists were friendly, although they made us wait an hour to check in, even though the hostel was completely empty.

Pros: Close to a community area, with restaurants, convenience stores, a market, and a beer garden all within walking distance. Easy to find, located on the main road.
Cons: The bed is extremely hard, even when I lay down on it, my knees hurt. Sleeping is painful. There are very few power outlets, only two of them are two-holes (not three-holes). There are cobwebs and spiders near the sink. The headboard has blackout curtains, no blackout curtains. It's bright at 6 a.m. The air conditioner compressor is loud and vibrates, requiring earplugs to sleep. Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. I saw a bag of sticky rice and grilled pork. I asked to take it, but the staff refused, saying I had to eat at the hotel. In short, I didn't get breakfast at the hotel because I had to leave in a hurry.

AdrianHTKDThis is a good-sized hotel in the centre of Chiang Rai, and it seems to be popular with coach tour groups. It’s conveniently located around 10 minutes from the airport (Bolt works well) and just a 2-minute walk from Bus Terminal 1. There’s also a large on-site car park.
Check-in staff are friendly and efficient, and there are two separate lift banks serving the guest rooms. There aren’t any notable views, but the rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable. Beds are good, there’s a proper desk, and the usual amenities are provided: fridge, kettle, tea and coffee, two bottles of water, a safe, etc. The bathroom feels slightly cramped as the bath/shower is enclosed behind a solid glass screen, which may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility. The rooms and upper corridors do feel a little dated, but given the location in northern Thailand, this can also be seen as part of the hotel’s Thai charm.
The main restaurant is located next to reception and offers a breakfast buffet with a wide variety of options to suit many nationalities. There’s also a bar in the lobby area, with live music in the evenings, and a karaoke club and bar in the basement.
At the rear of the hotel there’s a large swimming pool. The downside is that it remains in the shade all day, so the water is quite cold and even the sun loungers don’t get any direct sunshine.
One of the hotel’s biggest strengths is its location. Everything in downtown Chiang Rai is easily walkable: the Night Bazaar is just 2 minutes away, along with the Golden Clock Tower, numerous massage shops, beer bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and even a cat café where you can enjoy a coffee while stroking the cats. If you’re feeling particularly hungry, Ribs & Co is well worth a visit. The hotel also makes a great base for exploring northern Thailand — tours like the “7 in one day” trip are easy to arrange. Central Plaza shopping mall is only about 5 minutes away by taxi.
Overall, a very convenient and comfortable base for exploring Chiang Rai and the surrounding region. Enjoy 👍🏼

🇬🇧I absolutely adored my stay at this charming family-run hotel! The receptionist was incredibly helpful and friendly, going out of their way to assist me . The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with wood & minimal style. It has a cozy, inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this gem to budget-conscious travelers and anyone seeking a truly authentic local experience.

Don林Like a little sparrow, the amenities are equipped. If one is doable with common bathrooms/toilets, this is excellent. The flooring is well varnished with good grade epoxy and feel good on the soles. Boom the inn-keeper is meticulous in cleanliness and helpful with guests' request. I recommend travellers that are not too picky.

Kel89The place is great but the location is really hide, I want use the pool in the morning before to check out but they were cleaning it until 11am so I just enjoyed for 30 minutes… check out is at 12pm. They offer coffee and cookies free and I had the breakfast alone… not sure if more tourists stayed in the place… I shared bathroom but I only used it, I like the glass water. No aircon but the fan is close to the bed, which makes it comfortable.

Guest UserIt’s a good hotel for the money 💰 shower was excellent a pretty comfy bed, however the breakfast was one of the worst I’ve seen in Asia, the hotel seems to cater for the Asian market with the breakfast even though there are lots of westerners staying there, if you want eggs you have to pay for them and the rest of the stuff on offer was crap! , the coffee was grim! give it a miss 🤣🤣
