"This is my second time staying at Mira Montra. The bay and the view are magnificent, and the hotel lives up to what you'd expect from a high-end establishment on Koh Mak. However, I'm always surprised by the hotel's rigid management. The first time, I had an incredibly difficult time changing my stay dates, even though war had just broken out with the neighboring country. And this time, I was unable to upgrade my room, even though a Luxury villa was still available. Their reservation service is practically unmanageable. Finally, while the food isn't bad, it doesn't quite match the hotel's standing."

"I was lucky to have great weather on the island with bright sunshine, so the photos turned out really beautiful. However, it felt more like a trendy B&B than a hotel. The breakfast was delicious, but dinner was just so-so (there's no 7-Eleven on the island, and it's inconvenient to go out, so if you don't want to eat at the hotel, you might want to bring some instant noodles; there are snacks in the room but they're all quite sweet). I wish the room was a bit bigger, and surprisingly, there were no complimentary toothbrushes. Even though I got a bargain price during the off-season, I'd feel it wasn't worth it if the price were any higher. I'd recommend the Mint Lotus hotel next door instead. ššš"

"Although the hotel isn't huge, the grounds are well-maintained. The rooms are small (like most on the island, to be fair), but the bathrooms are massive, and both have been recently renovated. There are no TVs. Breakfasts are decent, almost homemade. The hotel offers scooter rentals and various beach essentials like inflatable mats and balls. There's a restaurant right next door and a roadside cafe not far away, and the prices were a pleasant surprise (not expensive for the island). S Beach is a short walk from the hotel, and the water there is incredibly clear. There's a massage service on the beach (prices are standard for the island, not cheap if you compare to Pattaya, Koh Chang, or Bangkok). The location is great because it's a short scooter ride to any of the beaches, waterfalls, etc. Highly recommend!"

"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! We stayed in a deluxe villa, second row from the sea. The sea was magnificent, especially before 3 PM, after which the tide started to go out. The breakfasts were average, but always fresh, and there was always plenty of everything. For dinner, we ate at the Ć la carte restaurant, and everything was delicious (we had read some negative reviews about the food)! Especially the grilled scallops, and the large mixed grilled seafood platter, which included fish baked in salt. The staff were a bit slow, but always tried their best to please you. As for the downsides, the WiFi simply didn't work, and there wasn't a single fruit shop within walking distance."

"We visit Koh Kood every year. As a family of three, we drive from Bangkok, park at the paid Ana Lay private parking lot, and then take a shuttle bus to catch either a speedboat or a ferry. Our usual pattern on Koh Kood is spending the whole day at the beach ā playing in the sand, snorkeling, and taking some photos.
Ana Lay Resort is located slightly on a hillside. As you walk down, youāll find it surrounded by large rocks, and the property is arranged in a terraced style with a wide variety of room types. They also seem to be continuously adding new rooms closer to the beach. One of the highlights is the wooden walkway built among the large rocks ā it blends beautifully with nature without damaging the environment, making it perfect for photos or a relaxing stroll.
If you follow the path, youāll reach the beach. The sandy beach is much larger than it looks in photos. At first, we were worried there might not be much sand, but we were pleasantly surprised by the size. There is also a spot where freshwater meets the sea, which is one of our favorite places. You can clearly see the changing scenery between high tide and low tide at this point.
From the pier where the resortās speedboats dock, you can enjoy diving and snorkeling. On the beach, you can easily spend the entire day playing in the sand.
Breakfast isnāt extremely varied, but they offer freshly made noodle soup, bacon, and egg dishes, which we enjoyed. In the evening, the sunset view is stunning. The resort clearly recognizes this and has built the restaurant in a perfect location, making it easy to focus more on the scenery than the meal.
Iām not sure if itās every day, but the staff at Ana Lay also prepare a fire show. The quality was higher than expected, and we were very satisfied. This trip made it easy to understand why this place is popular among Thai travelers.
We stayed for four days, and the staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Sometimes we rented a motorbike to go for lunch, dinner, or visit other beaches. A standard motorbike costs 300 baht per day, and a newer one costs 350 baht."

"A nice Gethouse, right next to the road, there is a rental of bikes at once. There are many restaurants nearby, the beach is large nearby. Small but beautiful territory in front of the rooms. The room is small, there is everything for accommodation, water, toilet paper, coffee, paper towels, toothbrushes, soap. From the downsides: the wolf bed is very, dirty bathroom (streams and drops on the door, a shelter), very prevents the chick who lives next to it, starts to slip from 3 a.m."

"Our family of three lived in this new year for three days, and there was still some reluctance to go. The hotel has a beach, the most beautiful at 7 or 8 in the morning, there are very few people, the sand is not bad, and there are free kayaks for guests to play. The hotel is a small villa, very new and very clean, mini bar snacks can be eaten free of charge, building materials are mostly taken from natural materials, very environmentally friendly. The most praiseworthy is the hotel's restaurant, which is superb. I thought that the materials on the bone island would not be fresh, but in fact, the hotel restaurant can kill a large number of high-end restaurants in Bangkok, regardless of the ingredients or taste, and the price is very good. Kindly, we have spent two or three hundred yuan on a dinner meal with a full range of seafood and meat. There is also a happy hour every afternoon, and the cost is also very good. The fly in the ointment is that the hotel is rather ridiculous, travel can only rent a small motorcycle, the hotel rent a motorcycle to 400 pigs a day, slightly expensive."

"Beautiful stay! The location is great, walking distance from the beach, pharmacy, restaurants, ATM, gas station and many other thingsļæ¼. You can rent a bike through them. The receptionist was incredibly helpful and super nice. The only issue I had in my room was the drain in the shower was very slow. I felt like I was standing in my own filth, I had to quickly shower so it doesnāt flood the rest of the bathroom which was a bit annoying. I mentioned this to them and Iām sure theyāll fix it. The water pressure was great! Overall, this was an incredible stay and would stay here again! ļæ¼"

The friendly staff greeted us, we left our things at the reception and went for a walk along the beach, since it was still too early to check in.
The beach amazed us with its beauty, but the entrance to the water was a bit rocky.
We took a kayak and swam near the shore, snorkeled and it was time to check in.
The bungalow had a pleasant fresh clean aroma, flowers were laid out on the bed and welcome drinks were waiting for us.
The view was incredibly beautiful, I am attaching a photo. There were drinks and snacks in the room, which is very convenient, since it is quite scary to walk to the shops at night.
I especially liked the kitchen and the bar, the cocktails were quite well prepared.
For breakfast, we were given a questionnaire to fill out where we could indicate our food preferences. The breakfast was incredibly delicious, you will understand everything from the photos)
This hotel has touched our hearts, we will definitely come back again.

The resort has just re-branded. They are developing and improving their resorts , facilities, services.
There is high speed internet all area and strength signals. The most strength mobile service signals is AIS but they just equipped more for True/DTAC.
The room is clean and comfortable bed.
I recommend you bring your soap, shampoo ā¦
(Hotel provided but not good enough for me).
There is personal beach in the front of resort. It really nice but many big stones. If you would like to swim in the sea, I suggest you swim far from the beach area.

Upon arrival nice greeting and drink- the kids liked it. Room allocated quickly and the person who met us was great.
Beach is excellent- sunset is beautiful. Pier great to jump from.
Swimming pool warm with seats to relax in.
Room was good, air conditioning worked. Ignoring broken toilet seat and broken soap dispenser- the room was fine and close to the beach, restaurant and shop. The room has WiFi and the tv has Netflix access if you have an account and YouTube.
Motorbike hire is easy- check for bold tyres. We had a puncture almost immediately. My fault for not checking carefully enough .
Service in the restaurant was disappointing- I had to ask each day for coffee. The staff pulled faces when asked as if it was too much trouble. It was awkward asking 2 days in a row. Both staff were equally difficult.
I understand it is low season - not so many customers but they need to pay more attention to diners, play some music and have a simple welcoming look. Breakfast was not so good. If you want eggs or omelettes cooked- good luck! Everything seemed too much trouble. We had dinner there on the first night. The service was terrible but the food was nice and well presented.
Booking trips or boats out was easy and well organised. It was strange that this was so good when the service in the restaurant in the same place was so poor.
I personally would not stay here again, there are nicer hotels along the coast that have better service and facilities around the same price point, I didnāt take many photos here, it felt soulless. I was happy to leave.
The island is excellent. Iām glad we explored it but I would never stay at Sea Far again.

maxim_mokhnachevOverall, it's a great spot, but only for a couple of nights: the beach and sea are stunning, the tents are stylish and interesting, and the breakfasts are decent. We had lunch and dinner there too, but it was pretty mediocre, both the Thai food and the pizza. By the third day, it loses its charm, and you get tired of the shared toilets and showers. We were happy to move to a more standard accommodation for our remaining two nights (which we had planned in advance).

We've stayed at this hotel many times over the past 20 years. In the last year alone, we've been twice: 7 days in April (one room for two) and 9 days in January (two rooms with family). The hotel is quite old but well-maintained. Its main selling point is its central location, and it's a proper hotel, not just a guesthouse on the island. Breakfast is perfectly edible. The Wi-Fi is slow, but it works. Room cleaning is good and done daily. I've stayed in almost all room types. If you want to be right on the beach, the best are the Villa Beach Front rooms from S2 to S6. Q (Queen) and K (King) rooms are good for families with many children or if you prefer to all stay together. D (Deluxe) rooms are for couples or families with one child. All these rooms face the sea. There are also 4 smaller C (City View) rooms with windows facing the road, which are the most budget-friendly. Message the hotel before you arrive, and they'll pick you up at the pier for 20 Baht per person, and drop you off too. Check-out is at 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM at the latest. If you want to check out later, it's best to book an extra day. A suggestion for the hotel: please wipe down the very top shelves in the closet where the umbrellas are kept sometimes. It feels like we're the only ones who do it in our room. But it's not a major issue; the other shelves are clean. Rooms have safes and kettles. Generally, rooms have one large bed and a small sofa. You can book through Trip.com or pay the hotel upon arrival. I've done both, but Trip.com is easier ā book it and forget about it. If you pay at the hotel, cash is better as cards sometimes don't work. If you have any questions, email the hotel; they usually reply within a day.

Guest UserCaptain Hook is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet. The villas are nice, we stayed in a room with its own mini pool. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel can help you arrange boat rides, scooters to rent, ferry tickets, etc. Some amenities the resort offers are massages, fire shows, snorkeling, kayaking, and skiing. You should know that there is no beach in front of the resort, but itās a quick swim/canoe to the beach across from the resort. The restaurant and bar sits right on the water and offers various western and eastern options. We would definitely recommend the fried chicken wings! It was a great holiday and we would choose this resort again when we travel to Koh Kood in the future.

We had an amazing 4 night stay at the Mak Trat and I canāt begin to say how wonderful, new, clean and well kept this place is. We arranged a hotel pick up from the Ao Nid port and within 5-10 of our arrival they came to pick us up, and took our luggage straight to the room.
The villas are extremely charming and the beds are very very very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious as well and the food at their own restaurant, and the amenities like the swimming pool area are very clean, beautiful and inviting. The staff is very kind and helpful informing you about day trips and also, you can rent a scooter at the hotel itself. Weāre in love with this place I would 100% stay there again. Highly recommend!

NoomNim PI truly appreciated the warm, service-minded attitude of the teamāespecially the Front Office staff and Khun Alex, who were absolutely outstanding.
