"Staff that served me looked indifferent and a smile will be better to your customer even it was a busy day. Try professional and made everybody a day.
Parking direction may need to improve to guide customer finding the right entry and exit.
Outside of the hotel laid a Illumination street that light up during my stay made the atmosphere feel like holiday.
As well, a river is running that provided a picture of the Thai culture.
However, there is a Crossroads(4 ways junctions) created a lot of noise not only at night but early mornings. Be sure to wear your earplugs."

"A Fading Gem with a Fantastic Breakfast
The Wang Tai Hotel feels like a grand dame from a bygone era. Walking into the lobby, you can see it was once a truly luxurious place, and that sense of scale and history is still there. However, it's clear the hotel is in need of a bit of a makeover. While everything is clean, the decor and some furnishings feel a little tired and dated.
That minor point aside, our stay was very pleasant. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to assist us.
The breakfast, however, was a wonderful and unexpected highlight! Instead of a standard buffet, it's ordered a la carte from a menu. Don't let that worry you the range is huge, covering both Thai and Western options. Everything we ordered was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. It felt more like a restaurant experience than a hotel breakfast.
The large swimming pool is a major plus – perfect for a refreshing dip and lounging in the sun. The location is also very good, making it a convenient base for exploring Surat Thani.
In summary, if you can look past the slightly worn edges, The Wang Tai Hotel offers incredible value, spearheaded by a stellar breakfast, great pool, and excellent service. A little refurbishment would easily make this a 5-star experience again."

"The hotel was clean and the bed was just right not too firm and not too soft, making it comfortable for a good night’s sleep. I booked a room for three people and the price was reasonable. The room was spacious with large beds, and the housekeeping did an excellent job keeping everything clean.
I stayed for a total of three nights and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is located in a quiet area, which might feel a bit far from shopping malls and some places I needed to visit but it also made the stay more peaceful.
Check-in is strictly at 2:00 PM and there is a 300 THB cash deposit required for the key card. Overall, it was a good stay and worth the price."

"Splurged for my own room and it was absolutely worth it! Gorgeous room and great bathroom. Free coffee and lots of tables in the entryway makes for a wonderfully social hostel. I arrived with the night ferry, so I stayed downstairs for a few hours until check-in. Met a few new friends and enjoyed free coffee and journaling time."

"Found a used ”object” on the sink which makes an otherwise a clean room feel extremely unhygienic. Staffs are not there when we need them. No staffs can be reached. Otherwise, quite good value for the price, I guess."

"We stayed overnight during our drive from Bangkok to Hatyai. The place was great for its price. It was pretty clean compared to other hotels at this price. The facilities looked relatively new and well maintained. Will stay again if we have to stop in Surat thani"

This resort catered for local thai people, all writings are in thai including the resort name
Bfast also all thai local breakfast.
Resort stay prices is also for local thai. Not expensive.
Only thing to complain is the toilet.
The shower is in a fix position. So when on the water, sprayed all over including the area outside of the water catchment area.
Which is dangerous ( slippery ) for seniors like me.
The manager in charge should looks into this matter.

GGuest UserThis really is a 10/10 place. My husband and my favourite place we’ve stayed, this trip to Thailand. We’ve already decided we want to come back, with friends, next time.
We wanted a place to cut our drive to Bangkok and had no idea Sarat Thani and the surrounding area had so much to offer.
Mr. Pongsak, the owner, could not be more lovely. He is so thoughtful and invested in making sure everyone who stays has the best experience and shares his knowledge of the area and all the things there are to do and see.
We drove a rented car, and found it sooooo peaceful and relaxing to be there. And so close to get to town, markets and lots of yummy foods.
We cannot wait to share this gem with friends and try the other cabins. The pond with all its fish is a gorgeous water feature too.
They opened in 2025 and are building a third cabin. They are modern and still so charming and relaxing.
Cannot wait til we can return on our next trip.
My only concern is that it is such a great spot and is going to be so popular, we will need to book well in advance next time!

It is close to restaurants and café, it's a convenient location. I'm not surprised that the hotel does not provide breakfast given the price. I will stay there again for a short lay over.

GGuest UserThe hotel is modern but very thin walls carry the noise from the ceiling and other rooms. Kettle and mugs provided but no coffee!! First time i have stayed In a hotel that did not have coffee in the room very strange.
The TV is very old fashioned nothing in English. Shower needed to run a long time to give hit water
What is most annoying is the balcony light which cannot be switched off so the room is filled with white artificial light even after the curtain is drawn. Doesn't make any sense.

“In the center of Surat Thani, where crossroads pulse with traffic and neon flickers like tired stars, stands CBD Hotel—a place that waits for travelers who are always on their way somewhere else.
Around it, the city breathes commerce: food stalls, markets, bus stations. From here, you can walk to the Seatrans bus terminal, and soon after find yourself boarding a ferry to Koh Samui or Koh Phangan. You can wander to the agricultural market, where local trucks carry passengers to Phunphin railway station. Every path from this corner leads somewhere further, as if the city itself is designed for departures.
Parking, often a worry in the center of a restless town, is solved here. Behind the hotel, a wide lot waits—easy to enter, easy to leave, as if movement were always part of the plan.
The lobby never sleeps. Staff at the desk watch the night pass with quiet patience. A small elevator, unassuming, carries you to rooms that are wide and clean. At the entrance, a wardrobe stands for shirts, bags, forgotten stories.
The window is large—generous with light in the day, but not always generous with silence. If your room faces the street, the sound of passing cars may slip through. Yet by night, the city softens. The roads empty, and stillness returns, like an old friend.
The bathroom is spacious, the water strong and insistent. Not new, but cared for, like something that understands its role. The bed is soft, the air conditioner steady, the space around it wide enough that you never feel trapped.
This is a hotel for pauses, not destinations. For the traveler between islands, between parties, between versions of themselves. Affordable, reliable, unpretentious.
Sometimes, the most valuable comfort is not in what is offered, but in what is quietly promised.”

HHappy kiwiA great new hotel (been open 3 months apparently). For the price we paid, it was great value for money. Super clean. Access to a good fully equipped gym a 2 min walk away. A nice pool. Even had free bananas and biscuits in the lobby.
Has a few quirky things but they don’t impact anything. Friendly service. I would stay there again if I come to Surat Thani.
A 25 min walk or a 4 minute drive to the night markets (20 baht each in a pick up truck or ~70 baht grab taxi)

BBrugginkCommunication was a bit challenging. I'd messaged them via the travel site and emailed the correct address, but it seems calling is the most reliable way to reach them. I wanted to arrange a pickup, as Bolt/Grab services in Surat Thani don't accommodate 5 people; they only cater for 4, and we also had quite a bit of luggage.
The van was supposed to meet us at Surat Thani station, but our bus dropped us off in the city center instead. This led to a dramatic 45-minute wait, during which we made several calls and sent emails. It was incredibly frustrating because our emails weren't getting through, and the staff member's English wasn't good enough to fully understand my concerns. Eventually, we were picked up, but by then, after a 6-hour journey, we were completely worn out.
Upon arrival, check-in was quick. Unfortunately, the rooms don't have balconies, but they are clean. The bed was too soft; if one person turned over, the other could feel it. However, there was a TV, so we could connect our Chromecast to watch Netflix. The pool was beautiful, and there was a designated smoking area outside. Two pillows are provided per bed, so there's no need to ask for extras. The only downside is that pool towels aren't provided, so you have to use your bath towel for the pool and then dry yourself with it again after showering. I find this unhygienic; I asked for a second set of towels, but I think this should be a standard offering. They diligently refill water bottles daily, and housekeeping is excellent – you don't even need to ask, they simply do a great job.
The hotel has a fridge stocked with drinks and beer for purchase, which allowed us to comfortably sit outside. Someone is always at the reception until late, which is reassuring.
It was very quiet, so we had the pool all to ourselves the next day too. We found the mall, and the receptionist kindly helped us locate a supermarket less than a 5-minute walk away. She also arranged a taxi for us to the pier for the following day. For our two-night stay, it was perfect.
We only had breakfast one morning, and it was less than we expected and not really worth the price.
All in all, this was an excellent hotel for us to unwind before catching our boat. The staff truly goes out of their way to help you wherever they can.

LLeem TanGood location, easy to find food because it's next to the hospital. There is a parking space for people to hitchhike to because there are a lot of cars in the morning. The room is ok, the bed is soft at V, the air conditioner is cool, but room 206 has a broken sink and clogged water pipe1. The rest are all good. There's also fresh coffee available.
