Hotel Atlantis ★★

📍 Str. Xenofontos 48, Corfu

"The hotel is excellent but expensive for what it is. The shower was tiny; big-size people definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable taking a shower. The location is good, walking distance to everything. Overall, it is okay and one of the cheapest in the area."

"Stayed here for a week, and overall our experience was good. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spotless, and the pool area and bar are absolutely beautiful. Now, in relation to negative there were definitely a few! The hotel does not offer dinner which was not too bad as Marietta’s was down the road. The breakfast was very mid, but that is down to personal preference. My partner went inside to get a drink on the day we were beside the pool, and he got given out too as he had no t-shirt on, but there were other men who also had no t -shirts on, but nothing was said to them, which was very unfair. The walls are thin! Now we are both in our 20s, and we found the hill up to the hotel very intense in the hot sun, so if you have mobility issues I would not recommend this hotel. A top tip would give, is factor in money for taxis as they are a mental price here!! Overall a good stay!"

"The hotel is a white Greece-style building, which looks pretty and quiet. I took the public transportation during the trip, there are bus stops for both blue and green lines near the hotel, 10-20 minutes walk. The lines connects Corfu town and northern parts of the island. There is a big supermarket next to the bus stop and a few restaurants. A pity is that the beach 5 away from the hotel is not nice enough, a little bit dirty."

📍 Alykes Potamou Ethnikis Palaiokastritsas, Potamos, Corfu

"When we entered the room after check in we saw a large venomous ant on the curtains. We had never seen that kind of insect so we took a picture of the ant and did a reverse image search with Google. The Google results determined that it was a velvet ant which packs a venom that is so PAINFUL it has the nickname “cow killer.” When we informed the owner about the venomous ant, he looked in disbelief and acted annoyed that he had to help us. He proceeded to spray the room with insect repellant. On the bottle of the insect replant it says to open the windows and stay out of the room for a few hours after use. After he sprayed the room, he told us that we can go back to the room in a few minutes in the hall way. He didn’t care about our health or experience AT ALL! Overall, the owner was uncaring and had a huge attitude problem. The owner was so inept that he proceeded to kill the ant in a tissue and showed it to us. We asked ********** to help us cooperate with the owner but he refused a refund and did not provide any apology. After the incident, he continued being unhelpful and played loud rap music while we sat in the lobbying searching for a new hotel for that night. AVOID THIS ACCOMMODATION AT ALL COSTS! The building is a literal former prison. The location is inconvenient. Do not support this miserable business owner and save yourself the stress of having to find a new hotel at 9pm on a Friday night!!!"

"Excellent value for money. The room, despite its small bathroom, was comfortable and in line with the price paid. The terrace offered a splendid sea view, truly delightful. Special thanks to Alex, the manager, who welcomed us with great hospitality: always available, he provided us with all the useful information, prepared breakfast in the morning, and kindly assisted us with every request. Highly recommended!"

Canvas by Mitsis Belvedere Hotels in Corfu

"I recently spent four days at Canvas by Mitsis Belvedere hotel in Corfu, and unfortunately, my experience did not match the advertised 4-star standard. Online offer does not match with the reality. The hotel itself is very dated and in need of refurbishment. The lobby contains old sofas and couches, and cleanliness in the common areas was inconsistent. On one occasion, someone dropped ice cream on the floor, and it remained there for several hours without being cleaned. There was not even a warning sign to indicate the floor was slippery. Our room was quite small and basic, we had a small flat TV, kettle, wardrobe, desk with a mirror, bathroom, and balcony with two chairs. The bed was uncomfortable and very hard. We were initially given two single beds pushed together, so if you want to sleep together, you have to request a topper. There was no full-length mirror in the room, which was inconvenient, and the shower had no holder, meaning we had to hold the shower head while washing. Room cleaning was inconsistent and often very late in the day. On one occasion, we returned around 6pm to get ready for dinner and were only then asked whether we wanted housekeeping. While fresh towels, toiletries, and working air conditioning were provided, the cleaning itself was superficial. There was visible dust underneath the beds, and the room lighting was very dim. The corridors were also poorly maintained. It was common to see dirty plates and cups left for many hours. We often noticed them in the morning and then again later in the afternoon. But this is not the end… The food was one of the biggest disappointments. The selection was very repetitive, with little variety from day to day and almost no traditional Greek dishes. I ended up eating bread with feta cheese and lettuce for both breakfast and lunch because there was no food to choose from. Typical options included baked potatoes, spaghetti, steamed cauliflower, fish pieces, and fries. Potatoes vinegar flavoured. There was a coffee machine, juice machine, and one soup option each day. The pizza was particularly poor, with a thick doughy base, and much of the food tasted low quality. Food was often served cold, and a microwave was available in the restaurant because many guests needed to reheat their meals. The scrambled eggs and sausages also tasted cheap and lacked flavour. The restaurant itself felt cramped, with tables positioned very close together. At busy times, it was difficult to move comfortably between them. Guests often had to sit outside due to a lack of indoor seating. Smoking was permitted outdoor and there were no designated non-smoking sections, which could be unpleasant for families or anyone sensitive to cigarette smoke. Entertainment was limited and generally uninspiring. During the day, there was some water polo and music played by a staff member connecting a phone to a speaker. Evening entertainment consisted mainly of live music performances near the pool area. Overall, there"

"Lovely apartments, they make you really feel welcome. It is effectively run by a very friendly Greek family, its not posh, but you have everything you need, and you only need to ask if you want anything or help. They have quite a lot of cute friendly cats that roam around the place. The pool is lovely, their are always plenty of sunbeds available. The bar and food served there is very good and very reasonably priced. Wifi is very good by the pool and bar area. Sometimes we were not always able to get wifi in our apartment, perhaps it needs a booster? or perhaps too many people using it at the same time? The town of Acharavi is on the doorstep, and about 5 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket. The local beach is about 400 metres walk. The bus stop is just outside, and has a reasonable bus service, alternatively you can book coach trips to other local resorts cheaply anyway, if you dont wish to drive. We would be quite happy to go back again, and highly recommend this place."

Rodostamo Hotel & Spa Hotels in Corfu

Rodostamo Hotel & Spa

"The hotel location is not very scenic. The big swimming pool was not open when we checked in at the end of April (why not make sure all facilities are available before allowing us to check in?). There is only a small swimming pool outside the gym :(, which is heated. The room I booked has a jetted tub. The water temperature was very hot on the first day, which was fine. When I wanted to use it on the second night, I found that it was room temperature and I couldn't take a bath at all. I communicated with the reception and he said he couldn't do anything about it. The temperature is controlled by the hotel and guests cannot adjust it. Pressing the temperature increase button didn't work :(. In addition, no cleaning staff came to tidy up the room during the day on the second day. The food, service and environment of the restaurant are all good."

"This hotel totally confused me. Location The hotel is set back from the front off a main road. There is no shops or other bars within the immediate area. There is no light crossing points on the road so dangerous to cross. It is on the number 7 bus route which takes you to Corfu town in 25 minutes. If you dare walk to the pebble beach or marina it is through graffiti and litter streets with derelict houses and did not feel safe. Basically you are trapped in the hotel without a taxi or bus. Hotel Reception and arrival On arrival no welcome from any staff or cold towel/drink as you would expect at a 5* hotel. The male receptionist was rude and shouted at us to wait whilst he sorted out the receipts from the spa. Once we were finally called forward he was rude and dismissive of questions. We asked about some food as arrived at 11pm. Was told it is a ham sandwich which is not very nice and not to bother! No explanation about the app or secret code but fortunately I have used this at another hotel so knew what to do. We were given 2 cards and a towel token and then our cases were taken by the porter without any explanation apart from he did not speak English. On entering the lift he ran over my toes with the case and suddenly could speak perfect English. The room had not been split to two beds as requested and we had to do this ourselves. Rooms Rooms are adequate and clean. There is a safe which is free of charge and an open wardrobe. There are only 2 small drawers and 8 hangers. The coffee in the room is Nescafé sachets and no minibar but there is a fridge. Toilet and shower are separate but the sink is not and directly in front of the shower so steams up easily. We were there 4 days and the sheets were not changed but the towels were. Pool As others have stated the sunbeds are really uncomfortable and leave cross marks all over your body even through towels. The main pool is like being in a z list version of Love Island. If you live your life on social media and just want to pose and make out with your partner this is the pool for you. The first day one couple were performing a sex act on his partner which I do not wish to see. After this we spent the rest of the holiday at the quiet pool which was a toned down version. However there is no food at this pool and if you have mobility issues you would not be able to go to it. All drinks are self service and the selection for all inclusive is poor. If you want anything else there is a charge. If you want to swim in the pool you have to get in before 9am as all the other times there are people stood reading or cuddling. Restaurant and food The food we had was of decent quality. You have to order everything on an app so it is pot luck if you like it and as such have a limited choice unless usual 5* hotels. The best staff are present in the main restaurant on a morning and lunch. There were always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. The same for the ladies serving in the "

"Beautiful hotel, super friendly and helpful staff, great sized room with own personal hot tub, balcony overlooking the pool with beautiful views of the sea and the sun setting. Really cannot recommend this hotel enough. Lucky to go at the start of the season so not many guests and so peaceful, perfect place to have a few solid days R & R and great base for exploring north of the island. Breakfast is simple but again just right, greek yoghurt, freshly baked breads etc and all included in price. Price is sooooo cheap for this standard of hotel and if possible snap it up whilst prices are low as imagine as it gets busier and more popular it will get more expensive. Gym is small so don't expect too much and beauty treatments by and external company so need to be booked in advance. I didn't eat here in the evening but told chef is really good. Pool service to your subbed from the bar and nothing too much trouble for any of the staff. If you're looking for the perfect getaway in the north of the island this is the place. Best food I found was in a restaurant called 'The Garden' in town, great souvlaki and house white!"

"Great service from the staff throughout my stay at the hotel. Always very enthusiastic and welcoming. The food was excellent and very well priced. Located in a great spot in kavos away from all the late night clubs and bars so getting to sleep isn’t any trouble. The rooms are very clean and the pool and bar area is very well equipped with plenty of sun and well shaded areas too. Overall a great hotel for a nice holiday retreat and i’ll definitely be returning here on my next visit."

"Hotel Yannis is a lovely hotel with very good rooms and lovely swimming pool. We had 5 nights here after staying in a villa in Nisaki. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. Very good breakfast. The only complaint was that at nighttime the bar was dead. This meant we didn’t get to chat with the other guests Ipsos is a bit run down with a lot of empty shop fronts. Still managed to find some good restaurants."

"Absolutely amazing stay! Unda is a beautiful laid back hotel with a feel of luxury. We stayed as a family and all had a wonderful restful break. My daughter (age 7) loved the pool and would spend hours in it. We feel we had the best room in the hotel room 1002, the patio walks right out onto the pool and it was the perfect place to relax with a morning coffee. The sea views were breathtaking, room decor boho vibes, cleanliness was 10/10 the communal areas were beautiful and the restaurant had lovely fresh food. All staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and we couldn’t fault the hotel at all. The lifeguard worked so hard everyday making sure everyone was happy, there was no sun-bed wars!! Even by 9am-10am most of the sun-beds were still available. The hotel didn’t feel busy and there were always tables available to relax and grab a refreshing drink. The sunsets are incredible and breathtaking, be sure not to miss, perfect view from the pool area. We hired a car at the airport for the week so spend some days and evening exploring the north, east and west coast, beautiful breathtaking scenery. Thank you unda for a perfect stay! 5* "

Ayla by Ekati Mare Hotels in Corfu

Ayla by Ekati Mare

"Booked and paid in advance, confirmed in writing, then let down at check-in. Nice facilities, but unprofessional service and rooms that don’t match the website. We stayed as a group of 10 (8 adults, 2 young children) at the end of August, across four rooms: a Premium 2 bedroom apartment, two Premium Triple rooms and a Premium Double. I chose AYLA specifically — and paid in advance — for a genuine Premium two-room apartment layout for our toddler and for quiet. Everything was confirmed in advance directly with the hotel. None of that prepared us for the arrival. The Premium apartment and one of the Premium triples — exactly the rooms for the two families with young children, including one travelling with a 18-month-old baby — were not available. We spent two hours in reception sorting it out. Rather than owning the problem, the front office first tried to move my family into an Ekati Mare maisonette dressed up as an “upgrade.” It could have been an upgrade, if it wouldn’t be so noisy (we could hear the noise from the pool bar; they had shows mid day and each night). I had to decline it because we needed a quiet room for our toddler and a setup with 2 separte bedrooms. After that they told us they’d found our booked rooms — when in fact they had put us in two classic triple rooms at Ekati. So instead of the apartment I paid for, I was given a classic triple. We had to go back to reception ourselves and point out that these were not what we had reserved before they would even acknowledge it — and even then, with no apology and no attempt to fix the mistake. With no other option, the other family with the 18-month-old accepted the classic room, and I took the maisonette for the first night. Making a family with a children settle for the wrong room, with no apology, was the low point. We were moved into our booked categories the next day, and only after a long discussion with the manager, we received a compensation. My impression is that it came only because we pushed hard for it. Zero customer focus, zero empathy, zero professionalism. On the rooms themselves, be aware that they are not consistent with what’s advertised. Of our four rooms, only the Premium Double actually matched the website. Both Premium Triple rooms had dated, worn furniture, and the Premium apartment was the worst of all: old, visibly chipped furniture, no attention to detail, and a bathroom that is clearly outdated and nowhere near a “premium” standard. Worst of all, the shower drain could not cope — every single shower left water pooling in the middle of the bathroom floor (photo attached). For a category sold and priced, as premium, that is simply not acceptable. The shared Ekati Mare facilities across the road are fine — the pool areas, beach and beach lounge are pleasant and suitable for little kids, although the beach is not well maintenened: messy sunbeds, garbages in the sand, algaes on the shore. On the restaurant ceiling there are spiders and cobwebs. The rooms wer"

"This hotel deserves NO MONEY from anyone! The day previous to our last, we had arranged for a late checkout and paid the €50 charge (yes, disgraceful amount) for this and were told we could keep our room until whenever we wanted. Around 4pm on our last day, by the poolside, with the entire hotel witnessing, we were RUDELY accosted by the receptionist with whom we organsied the late checkout the previous day. We were shouted at that they had been tyring to locate us all day as we did not vacate our room and so the housekeeping had cleared out our belongings and put them in another room. She shouted at us that she told us we were to vacate our room and use another on the ground floor for late checkout. This was the first time we had knowledge of this! It was her word against ours but clearly there was some misunderstanding. The way this was dealt with was disgraceful and completely unprofessional. No one had been looking for us the entire day as we were poolside since 9.30am. NEVER should this rude female have come to the pool shouting infront of all the other guests, causing a completely unnecessary scene and huge embarrassment, other guests even approached to ask what had happened. It was mortifying and we left the pool on account of this. On locating the room we were assigned for late checkout we then found our belongings had been dumped into black BIN BAGS!!!! We then spent around 30 mins trying to collate our items and account for everything. The room itself it was nothing short of disgusting (see photos) To charge €50 for this is Robbery......NO air-conditioning, NO hairdryer, NO fridge, a shower that blasted water at a painful speed soaking the entire room, ants everywhere and walls and doors with missing pieces. And then to top things off there was a power cut so the bathroom was in complete darkness, having to shower by the light of a phone torch, which in turn drained the battery and we could not recharge as there was no power. How this hotel have the audacity to charge €50 for this is beyond me!! Top top matters off I emailed this hotel to log a complaint about this entire situation and was basically called a LIAR, they "did not agree with any of my comments". Hence this review to warn people. My travel provider has also been contacted to inform. DO NOT go here, they do not deserve a penny from anyone, they do not care about customers or customer service."

"The hotel is a white Greece-style building, which looks pretty and quiet. I took the public transportation during the trip, there are bus stops for both blue and green lines near the hotel, 10-20 minutes walk. The lines connects Corfu town and northern parts of the island.
