"I spent a long time searching on Ctrip before, and I saw this Shiyu Smart Hotel with its fresh-looking pictures and knowing it was newly renovated, well-decorated, and highly rated. So I navigated here. The lobby was very clean and bright, looking quite upscale. I actually booked after arriving at the hotel. I've had experiences before where I booked online and then the actual place was totally different, so I usually check out a place in person before booking. As soon as I walked into the lobby, I knew it was a good choice. My stay experience was genuinely excellent, definitely worth praising! It's just a few minutes' walk from the North Station. The room also had a faint, pleasant scent. It features voice AI control and a projector, making it very smart. The bed and floor in the room were spotless and very tidy. It looked incredibly comfortable. The bedding was also great, and the mattress was very comfortable. The soundproofing was excellent too. The hotel staff were very warm and helpful. My stay exceeded my expectations; at this price point, it's incredibly good value. It truly feels like a star-rated experience. Staying in a hotel like this for this price is just too good, an amazing deal. It was extremely clean and tidy. When I come back to Guilin for Chinese New Year, I'll definitely stay here again."

"I've come to Guilin often over the years, but had not heard of Dongli Ancient village. This hotel was the perfect place to stay within this excellent ancient village site. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a huge balcony that was next to and overlooked the river and its covered bridge. The room was in an ancient building but very up to date inside, with a modern bath with both a shower and bathtub. The room, as all of the village, was very clean, spacious and had a comfortable bed. The heater/air conditioning worked well. The service through out the village was excellent, though restaurant selection was limited."

"The room is nice, a suite, it should be an apartment building type room converted into a hotel, the bed is a bit soft, the room is large enough, and has a separate bathroom. If cleaning is required, please inform us in advance. All in all not bad"

"Although the location is marked as Lingchuan County, it's about a 10-minute walk from Guilin North Railway Station and about a 30-minute bus ride from Guilin West Railway Station. Getting to Guilin's old city is also very convenient; there are buses running frequently right outside the building. However, since it's not in Guilin City, you'll need to walk a short distance to use an electric scooter. Upon check-in, be sure to add the security guard on WeChat for easier communication and to get the key card for the elevator. Although I stayed in a six-person room, I was the only guest during the off-season, so the male and female bathrooms were separate. The hot water in the female room is electric, not 24-hour. There's a kitchen for simple meals, but no refrigerator. The security guard downstairs was very friendly and even kindly helped me check in when I was lost. You need to bring your own toiletries, but there's a small vending machine where you can buy them at similar prices to outside."
