"We stayed in the luxury 'Dutch style' colonaded main building of four beautifully designed and appointed rooms but could just have easily selected one of the individual villas in the grounds, each with its own distinctive theme to match your mood or preference, be it Japanese influenced, colonial charm or a quirky glass fronted pavilion with its bathroom entirely outdoors. Attention to detail is unsurpassed and Eraeliya is the place to go if you and your partner or a couple of couples really want seclusion and privacy. The only communal aspect of the property is the swimming pool and if you really want to see others you could dine in the garden or overlooking the sea instead of using your own personal space."

"We’ve just returned home after our 3rd visit to Under the Mango Tree… The magic about this place is not just its incredible sunset views overlooking the ocean but the warmth of the staff who keep this place alive and treat you like family whether it’s your first time or a returning guest. In our experience, the glue that holds UTMT together is the restaurant team now under the leadership of Satchi, supported by the lovely Kavinda, Nalinda and Prince (charming) — thank you for all those tasty cocktails! The chef takes a huge pride in his food and the UTMT Mango Salad is a personal favourite… As is the Roti Chicken. There’s not enough room to give everyone a shoutout but they all deserve a special mention. It goes without saying relaxation here is also UTMT’s forte. Their Ayurvedic therapy, which supports natural healing, leaves you feeling regenerated in bliss. We only wish we booked to have it everyday. It’s very much in demand, and rightly so! We were lucky enough to have our favourite room again - Room 1 - with its breathtaking views. The housekeeping team made sure it was always kept pristine, and always greeted us with a warm smile. Well done Robert for having created such a special place. Thank you ALL. We’re already looking forward to returning next year!"
