"The hotel was quite clean. Although it only has two floors, the room had a microwave, refrigerator, lamp, and power strip, but the facilities were a bit old. I booked one night online, but my partner said check-in failed upon arrival. The front desk gave me the same price as on the platform, and the service was good for the price."

"Very disappointing experience with Tru by Hilton Midland East. We booked two rooms using Hilton Honors points, checked in through the Hilton app, received room assignments, and received an email confirming our digital key request that stated nothing else was needed. We also have screenshots showing we called the hotel before midnight, and during that call the hotel confirmed our rooms were across from each other. When we arrived around 3:00 AM, we were told the reservation had been marked as a no-show, but they still manually let us into the rooms. The next morning, we were told we should be good to go because the rooms were paid with points. Later, our card was charged $170.77 per room, even though the stay still shows as canceled in the Hilton app. Manager Krista Wright refused to refund the charges and sent an email stating this could be reported to fraud and our Hilton Honors account could be suspended. We also found proof that another reservation was created under our account before we arrived and then canceled, which we did not authorize. To us, this shows the hotel knew there was an issue and was trying to fix it by creating new reservations without our consent. We are escalating this with Hilton and fighting the charges."
