📍 Malindi Highway ;next to Shanzu on Bamburi Beach, Mombasa
★★★ 8.1 (19 reviews)

"If I hadn’t mentioned it, no one would have known about the remote. I was charged KES 5,900 simply because I was in the middle of checking out and trying to catch my train. A replacement remote does not cost KES 5,000. Milkah, I’m very disappointed with how this situation has been handled and with the way we have been treated as guests. Rather than investigating what happened, the responsibility was immediately placed on us and we were charged without sufficient justification. Unfortunately, this experience has left a very negative impression, and I will be reflecting it in my review."

Travellers Beach Hotel & Spa

📍 Malindi Rd, Mombasa
★★★★ 8.7 (59 reviews)

"The room was OK, but there were some bugs and ants. I only gave a bad review for the room card. The air conditioner was out of power and could not work. It was very hot every day when I walked in from outside. The hotel is directly connected to the public beach, which is quite convenient. You can go to the beach at any time."

PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa Mombasa Hotels in Mombasa

PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa Mombasa

"The hotel left a pleasant impression. - The food is mostly Indian and local, but there's always a European corner with pasta and salads. The snack bar has odd hours, but it's there—if anyone's looking for pizza, I recommend going straight for it. We had grill nights outside several times with octopus, shawarma, and other delicious treats. It's especially cool that they combine dinner and entertainment in the outdoor area. - The alcohol and cocktails are good, special thanks to bartender Martha in the lobby. If you're reading this, then one Virgin Mary, please 💃🏻 - The room is spacious, cleaned perfectly, there are shampoos and gels, but no toothbrushes or toothpaste. There's also no iron or ironing board in the room (and no request). There's no minibar either. - We used the laundry—no complaints. The pool is large, you can swim right under the bridge, and there are plenty of sun loungers. The waterfall is awesome. The bar on the pool is good, the guys are great, and they don't skimp on the alcohol. You can easily get drunk by lunchtime. The hotel grounds are beautiful and green. The gardener gave us a tour of the rabbits and birds. They're constantly trimming, planting, and watering. The monkeys are a minus. They're not as cute as they look in the video. If you have food in your hands, they'll get aggressive and immediately attack in a pack. It's especially dangerous if it's a blue monkey🐒 The beach is guarded and clean, but the seaweed makes swimming almost impossible. Vendors don't come in. The sand is white like in the Caribbean. There's no beach bar (there is one, but you have to pay). There's entertainment somewhere, but no one bothers you if you want to relax. Evening shows are like everywhere else. There are pool tables in the lobby – they're popular. Overall the impression is good: a solid 4 stars, but for Africa it might be 5."

Cocoa Luxury Resort Hotels in Mombasa

Cocoa Luxury Resort

"This hotel is conveniently placed right next to the beautiful Nyali beach but that is where the good things stop. Muthu is very poorly maintained, with a collapsed building on the back right of the pool. Each room has ripped and stained mosquito nets. Rusted and dirty bathrooms, the first room we were put in the water was leaking from the toilet. The AC works but sounds like it’s about to explode. And the lift is broken, so you are screwed in you are on the 4th floor. We also ordered a meal from the restaurant, but had to send us back as the chicken biriani had gone bad, and the spaghetti bolognaise was so salty my wife tried to poor water on it to make it better, with no luck. Finally, the entire team there doesn’t communicate with each other and they cannot be contacted by Trip.com. That meal we sent back, we were told by the restaurant manager that we would not need to pay for it. He never told the reception staff and we had to argue with the guards at the gate of the hotel to let our taxi leave for about half an hour before we had to force our way out. Please don’t stay here, it’s not worth it. Go to somewhere near Diani beach, it’s much better on that side."

Tamarind Village Hotel Apartments Hotels in Mombasa

Tamarind Village Hotel Apartments

"We came as group of 10 persons from Belgium on a very busy schedule for 3 days and Tamarind just helped in the best sense possible to allow for the best moments of rest in that schedule while supporting some challenging requests such as a 6 am fast breakfast a la carte which the kitchen was able to fulfil within our schedule! The location near the creek, the rooms, the pool and the spa, the restaurant … everything contributed to having enough energy for the rest of the weeklong trip taking the delegation across Kenya."

Neptune Beach Resort - All Inclusive Hotels in Mombasa

Neptune Beach Resort - All Inclusive

"Enjoyed my stay at Neptune beach resort. The staff was friendly and they had awesome food to enjoy each day. The buffet had really good fresh salads and made to order any omelettes, crepes and waffles. The lounge chairs were comfortable and the security helped keep monkeys and crows away from your food BUT don't leave your food unattended or they will get it! The best beach view and entertainment of the locals trying to sell anyone who walks on the beach stuff! Negotiate hard otherwise you can buy somethings at the local Carrefour grocery store cheaper. The rooms are clean and tips mean a lot to the people (remember they work hard and don't make alot) so if you tip you get great service as you would anywhere. Ask for an ocean or pool view otherwise you'll get a tree view but it's private. We did not venture out at night outside of our resort but did take a Tuk tuk around during the day. I would recommend this hotel and nice gift shops too :)"

"Apart from the slightly small room, there are no other problems. The hotel is on the beach, the scenery is very good, and the sunrise is super beautiful. The seafood restaurant is very good, and I tried different teas for 3 nights, and they were all delicious."
