There was a cockroach in the room! Our stay started off fairly well, but everything changed that evening when I spotted a small cockroach crawling across the desk. I immediately trapped it with my son’s face mask and crushed it with all my strength. After that, I couldn’t stop worrying that there might be more hiding somewhere in the room, so we closed up all of our suitcases to avoid any unwanted surprises. When I checked out the next morning, I showed the photo to the receptionist. She simply went, “Oh…” in surprise, and that was it. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to address the issue. I didn’t ask for any compensation—I just checked out and left. Finding a cockroach is unpleasant enough, but the complete lack of response from the hotel was even more disappointing.

📍Location: 5/5 ⭐ Right next to the G:link Surfers Paradise station and opposite Q1 SkyPoint, super convenient. 🛏️Room: 3/5 ⭐ Was given a room on a low floor, at the very end. City view was decent. Facilities were a bit dated, probably on par with a 3-star hotel in China. 🍳Breakfast: 2/5 ⭐ Quite basic, ingredients were average, and not really worth the price. I'd recommend eating at nearby restaurants instead. Overall: The location is definitely the biggest highlight. Other aspects were just okay. At 1200 a night, the value for money is pretty mediocre.

The room unit i got was on the top Floor. For a solo traveller, i hope the Floor could have better lighting and make it bright. The unit itself was spacious, 1 room with Queen Bed, comfy, airy, love the window view from the room, over looking the main road. The walk-in bathroom, clean, have all amenities except for those toothbrush, vanity thing. There’s a Bathtub and a seperate shower and toilet. Kitchen complete with whatever you need If you plan to cook. The living and dining, looks big coz there’s wall mirror on both end and couch, can actually stay a family of 4 If you want. The view from the living was over looking the River i think….lovely! If you plan to do the JetBoat thing or Cruise or dinner Cruise, it is just next door to the hotel. Also, i hope the hotel management could also update Its hotel signage. I think the lighting is dull. That’s all.

The apartment is near the beach, we enjoy with the beach and the clean and comfortable environment, walk 1min to the beach and 20mins to food place

The apartment is serviced by Wowstay, not the Mantra Hotel. So the key has to be picked up from a lockbox at the base of the hotel and returned to the same lockbox. It’s a very professional and easy process, however I would recommend when dropping the key off to drive your car from the car park to the front of the Mantra Hotel checkin area. Leave your car there as there is no other convenient / close places to park. Then walk up the stairs around the side of the Mantra building to the lockbox area. The apartment I stayed in was on the 21st floor facing the ocean. It has the same layout as the other apartments with a modern bathroom, large sized bath that looks out over the bedroom, out to the ocean. The main bedroom and lounge have floor to ceiling views. It has a large balcony and great views of the coast. It has an extra large flatscreen TV, nice art work, a full kitchen. It also has a very comfortable leather lounge. There is an open study area that is used as an open bedroom for two single beds. The main bedroom has a king size bed. However I did find it unusual that a single pop-up bed had been made with linen in the same main bedroom. ( it was placed between the window and the end the bed, which obscured the view and took up the rest of the space in the bedroom. It looked out of place, it wasn’t necessary) it was easy to fold up, which I did and I placed it in the other area with the two other beds. I suggest you do the same if this happens to you. Or maybe you can request that it’s not used in the apartment? I will next time I stay. The location is great, central to everything. I have stayed at the Mantra through the hotel a few times before, however it was cheaper through Wowstay and it was as nice as the hotel apartments, so I will stay here again when I’m visiting the Surfers Paradise. The extra bonus with booking this via Wowstay, is that a carpark space is included with the booking, however if you book an apartment through the Mantra Hotel, you will be charged an additional fee.

Great stay! Perfect for kids and adults alike with the choice of both the pool and ocean. Just wish I had booked the sea view. I couldn’t fault the service especially when addressing an issue with our parking.

The apartment-style hotel feels like home. It is only a 10-minute walk from the Surfers Paradise Commercial Street. The large supermarket is economical and affordable to eat comfortably! Dining in Australia feels very expensive, so it’s better to buy something to cook in the hotel. The hotel is equipped with large and small pots, bowls, knives, and forks. They can make delicious and delicious. Sitting on the terrace and drinking an authentic Australian beer, Meidi what! ! You can also walk on the beach, blow the sea breeze, and watch the sunrise and sunset! ! Buy a ten-dollar bus 🚌 look, you can go to the outlets to take an unlimited number of buses and trains for one day. Good things are much cheaper! !

Unfortunately we did not have a great stay. We booked 3 apartments for a family vacation and all 3 had issues. All 3 apartments had faulty air cons. 1 air con didn’t work at all and also a toilet in that apartment didn’t work either. Also when we arrived, we found one of our carparks had a car parked in it and that 2 other guests were allocated the same Carpark as us. We all contacted the letting company and all guests were told to seek help from the apartment reception who then told us all to contact the letting company as they don’t deal with the private apartments and their carparks. So it was back and forth for hours, we even visited the office twice until the car was finally removed. In terms of the no aircon/ broken toilet room, we were told there was nothing the letting company could do about it as they only have 1 staff member on so we’d have to wait for the next day and that some of our cost would be refunded (We are still waiting). The next day, in the morning the staff member visited and said the aircon is broken and they’ll have to find another room so will get back to us. It was close to the letting company’s closing time and we hadn’t heard back so we followed up only to be told there’s no more rooms available and our family would have to make do with the fans. Our family members in the no aircon room got sick from the heat/ stuffiness even with the doors and windows open. The amenities - lagoon, gym and pool are awesome So it was really unfortunate we did not enjoy our stay due to the lack of upkeep of the apartments and the service.
