GGuest UserThis hotel seems to be built right on the cliffside, offering unbeatable views from the rooms. The design is really thoughtful, with large glass walls, balconies, skylights, and smart wake-up features. You can tell the owner put a lot of effort into it. The weekday prices are quite reasonable, and both breakfast and afternoon tea are excellent. The coffee and flower tea are also very good – flavorful and not cheap. When we left, they even gave us a small tea bag as a parting gift, which was a nice touch. There were several dinner options available for an additional charge, which looked good, though we didn't try them. Overall, the place has a very high-quality feel; you can sense the owner's passion and dedication to making it great. It's perfect for a lazy stay, and the courtyard has many picturesque spots for photos. There's even a talking mynah bird! It's about a 30-minute drive to various tea plantation attractions, which isn't too far, making it ideal for a relaxed trip without rushing. The only downside is that buying individual coffees is a bit pricey; it feels like Starbucks prices for only about a third of the volume.

GGuest UserIt's a family run business. The rooms were very clean and tidy. There is a lift, so convenien. The owners were so friendly and helpful, providing us all information we need to explore the local attractions. They also sell tickets to the attractions at the cheaper prices than apps. During our visit, we encountered a problem on transportation. The owner drove a long way to pick us back to their building with no charges, so kind and really taking good care of customers. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserWhat an amazing place with amazing staff who made the experience that much better. The rooms were everything we could ask for, modern and very clean with great amenities. The private hot spring alone is absolutely worth visiting too. The surrounding area is beautiful too with lots to see and do but would definitely need to rent a car as some things are far away. The staff were incredible in every way. Before our stay I asked one of the staff members called Min if she could order flowers for a special occasion and she did so without hesitation and placed them in the room upon our arrival.She was so helpful and kind throughout the whole stay, telling us the best places to visit and restaurant to go out. She even went as far as helping us order dinner at the local restaurant when we were struggling too due to our lack of speaking Chinese. The breakfast was also delicious as well and the coffee shop where it is served has great coffee and lovely pastries. I couldn’t recommend this place more for a nice weekend away in nature.

KKim BengWe are extremely happy to have chosen Bixiang Inn for our stay at Qing Yuan.
The inn is beautiful & tranquil located at Hetou Village, Jiulong Town, Qing Yuan. Be prepared of the travelling journey there, it is very far from Yingde, but the inn is just worth the journey. We were there few days before the peak season, Chinese New Year. So we had the hotel by ourselves - 8 of us. We bought the famous Qing Yuan chicken, Jiulong fuchuk, plucked veg from the hotel & also bought & plucked additional vegetable from the next door neighbour and we cooked our dinner at the hotel! How wonderful!
The caretaker, Ah Lei (hope I get her name correct) is very helpful. She even helped in the cooking & cleaning up after meal. Not forgetting 3 lovely cats in the premises too.
We did trekking &/or cycling (the hotel has 2 bicycles for guests use) in both morning. The air was so so fresh, felt recharged instantly.
We highly recommended Bixiang Inn as your base at Qing Yuan.

GGuest UserAbsolutely loved this bamboo forest courtyard! It's an immersive experience, nestled within acres of bamboo. The rainy day ambiance was simply divine.
As soon as I stepped into the courtyard, I was enveloped by lush greenery. The drizzle pattered on the bamboo, the leaves rustled, and the air was filled with the fresh, damp scent of vegetation – so peaceful and therapeutic. The glamping tent accommodation had a wild luxury feel, and the private courtyard offered complete privacy. Inside, it was clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding. Hiding in the tent on a rainy day, listening to the white noise of rain on bamboo leaves, created a truly wonderful atmosphere.
The environment is tranquil and elegant, far from the city's hustle and bustle. The owner provided thoughtful and attentive service, making the entire stay from check-in to check-out completely comfortable. The bamboo forest on a rainy day had a unique charm, misty and ethereal, with swaying bamboo shadows. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind, whether you're seeking solitude or a gathering with friends. It's already on my list for a second visit, highly recommended!

GGuest UserSpent the weekend in Yingde. The guesthouse manager was very thoughtful, sending the location in advance and even upgrading our room.
They included two tickets to the T3 Organic Tea Plantation scenic area. If you enter between 9 AM and 2 PM, there's no extra charge, which is great. It's only a two or three-minute drive from the guesthouse.
Cleanliness: While the guesthouse isn't brand new, it was generally clean.
The breakfast was also good and quite substantial. We also ended up having a farmhouse dinner there.

AannaVery good, in the new city of Yingde City, only opened for a year and a half, there are many guests, breakfast is Chinese and Western, although the variety is not too much, but definitely enough to eat. There is a fish happiness restaurant next to it, the dishes taste very good, it is worth trying. Especially recently, it has rained a lot. It is very convenient to go directly to the second floor of the restaurant next door to eat at night. There is a supply and marketing supermarket about 100 meters away, helping farmers to promote, there are many local specialties to sell, supply and marketing agencies are state-owned institutions, the price and service are good, Mazhuyu is the main local specialties, in Yuer Restaurant Eat fresh good, so I bought some dried bamboo shoots at the supply and marketing agency to take home. It is about 12 kilometers away from the Red Banner Tea Factory. Continue to walk 19 kilometers to Jiqingli Black Tea Valley. These two attractions belong to one direction and can be arranged together. The tea fun garden is an old classic scenic spot. In the other direction, there are more than ten kilometers away.

I loved the business project in whole, it’s brilliant, location, gorgeous view of sugarloaf mountains, air quality, forest and wildlife + real tea plantations and the general idea of connecting the ancient tradition of tea making and enjoying with the family outdoors and holiday activities.
But. When it comes to the reality and routine you face the challenges and imperfections.
First, I booked the tent with the request to accommodate my family far from other visitors and traffic. Unfortunately, we were given a tent that literally was situated at the main road with doors opened to the public route, while all other tents oriented towards the tea plantation.
We were disappointed, because at another tent we were asked to add 100 yuan more, since it was equipped with a bathroom.
More than that, it was booked too, so instead of nice stay 3 days/nights at one place, we had to move out next noon, wait for the check -in at around 13 pm and settle again at another tent.
I deeply appreciate the efforts the manager made to please us. But I wish we could skip all that unnecessary waste of time, not mentioning packing luggage of 4 people for 2-3 times.
Next complication is about Chinese culture being close to each other- tents are located side by side, 8 tents all reserved, lots of kids, all noisy, all moving at the same spot+ other visitors freely enter the area and it adds to the crowds. So we had a complete silence only after 11 pm and from the early morning it was already packed with new travelers.
The heaters are great, yet also noisy, the bathroom is beautiful and modern, even with dyson alike hair dryer, but users don’t care about others, don’t close the shower cabin while washing, so the entire room becomes a marsh.
We enjoyed our breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner at the hotel restaurant , the food and service was outstanding !
There’s great quality bedding , linen is awesome, mattresses and pillows are fantastic .
All amenities are of a premium quality, just like at the 5 * hotel.
Electric car shuttles are helpful and always there for you.
But the best part of the place is its tea, black tea, it’s a splendor ! We drank it for 3 days and it’s never enough , so good. Make sure you buy some to get home.
Local ice cream with the milk tea flavor is one of a kind!

RRF823This award-winning guesthouse was recommended by a design industry veteran, but the road leading to it is quite challenging. I honestly wouldn't recommend it for women; it's even nicknamed Guangdong's Initial D mountain pass.
Our room initially had a minor repair issue, so the front desk offered a free upgrade. After checking out the upgraded room, we decided to stick with our original booking as it had a larger yard and the room itself was very spacious, almost a bit empty – a deliberate design choice, I imagine. The design, despite being a decade old, has really stood the test of time, maintaining a simple yet authentic feel. The exterior wood looks quite weathered, but the interior is well-maintained. Designers often appreciate this aged aesthetic; solid wood is actually the most expensive material, costing several times more than the glossy decorative panels often found in more common, 'pretty' designs. However, it's not universally appealing, especially with Guangdong's frequent rain making maintenance difficult. If you're looking for a delicate, refined aesthetic, I wouldn't recommend it.
The food in the mountains was just okay, and for such a remote location, the price wasn't overly expensive. The next day, passing through the town, prices were similar, likely due to it being a tourist area.
The next morning, looking out, I started to appreciate the spacious design – its advantage truly shone through. It was incredibly relaxing, and I began to feel a subtle difference. This is what's meant by the luxury of large spaces being the most valuable kind of luxury. Now, staying in a small, cramped hotel room feels completely different.
There's a small private pool that's good for kids. The water quality is incredibly smooth. The front desk mentioned that the water for brewing tea in the room comes from a natural spring sourced from the valley behind the mountain, just like the pool water. The staff told us that a top Chinese tea master once insisted on using this raw spring water for brewing a multi-million dollar pu-erh tea cake, refusing even filtered water, claiming it was the second best water quality in Guangdong. The tea tasted excellent, and hearing about the water quality, I asked the manager for a large bottle. Due to the room repair, they also gave us a complimentary bag of tea. After returning to Guangzhou and brewing a pot, if they hadn't warned me beforehand, I would have thought the tea was a rip-off. The difference was indeed huge. Using their old testing pen, the data discrepancy was astonishing.
The distant mountain views are incredible, but there were quite a few mosquitoes. They should spray more insecticide when there aren't many guests. Also, there aren't many amenities. There's a tea house not too far away on the mountainside where you can pass the time. It's not crowded, and when no one's around, it has a wonderful atmosphere. The higher you go, the better the view. Overall, everything was quite good, and for a semi-wooden cabin, the hygiene was also excellent. I'll definitely come back next time, but I really need to remember to bring a few buckets with me.

GGuest UserThe decor is nice and the cleanliness is quite good. The heated bathroom floor is a highlight, and unlike many hotels, there's no smoke smell. However, for guests like us who check in at 9 PM and check out after breakfast, showering and sleeping are undoubtedly the most important experiences. The slightly loud AC is tolerable, but the curtains not blocking enough light is a drawback. The biggest issue is the shower, which constantly fluctuates between hot and cold – it's impossible to get a consistent temperature. I'm not sure if this is just an issue with this room or if it's a problem throughout the hotel.
