"Very familiar hotel, Sara and the guy at reception were charming, very clean room, with en-suite bathroom. Very complete breakfast, many options to choose from, and very much like being in your own kitchen. It's hard to find it on the first day. But the location of the hotel is very good for seeing the entire old town. Less than 2 minutes away you are in the entire old town. If I were to return to Gijon I would return to Nap Puebla. Expensive is not always the best. Nap Puebla is cheap and you feel at home. Kisses, Sara, from the girls in Santander."

"An expensive and average 3 star hotel that claims to be 4. No internet in my room (301)and the receptionist just seems to find it okay and that I should go downstairs if I need a connection. How can you in this day and age not get this fixed after so many complaints here???Breakfast is one of the most basic I’ve ever seen, and my room was tiny, dark and miserable. I got a much better deal in Oviedo for the same price,"

"Oviedo is just about an hour away by plane from Lisbon. What a more interesting destination for a weekend getaway, especially considering it is the capital of Asturias, where "El Camino" (to Santiago) was born, without forgetting other attractions or specialties such as the famous drink cider. The backdrop was set. But where to stay? After some internet searches, the Alda Centro Oviedo hotel was the one that caught my attention. Not only for the great central location but also for the excellent amenities offered. And so it was! Everything matched my expectations and I would even say they went beyond them! Despite my late arrival, the hotel offers remote check-in, with cameras, which worked perfectly. Once finished and with the key in hand (magnetic card) I went up to my bedroom. And what a great bedroom they gave me! Very spacious, in an attic style, it had a large and comfortable double bed, bedside tables and electrical plugs, television, desk and chair, well-insulated window, a large space for storing clothes, a safe box and a good bathroom, spacious, with a jacuzzi bathtub and all the amenities that are part of a good bathroom such as a hairdryer or liquid soap and shampoo. The breakfasts were also very good. In addition to a wide variety of coffees and teas and different types of bread, ham, cheese, chorizo, there was also butter, jams, fresh fruit and orange juice. There was also a fridge where milk and yogurt were kept. Last but not least, it also had a great choice of cakes. In conclusion... If I really liked Oviedo, in part, my stay at the Alda Centro Oviedo hotel contributed a lot to making this mini-trip a success. If one day I make the Camino de Santiago and start my walk in Oviedo, I know for sure it will be in this same hotel where I will want to stay again!"

"Location is excellent, in close proximity to restaurant, cathedral and the old town. Atmosphere is somewhat dated, but quaint. The rooms were clean and functional, however the air conditioning wasn’t working, hadn’t been for some time and there didn’t seem to be any hurry to fix it. As a result, the room was hot. Opening the window to allow for some fresh air wasn’t really an option as the street noise was quite loud. Room facilities were, in my opinion, below par for a so-called 4 star hotel. There was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room (nor in the reception area). The bathroom consumables were also sub-par. Drinking glasses were paper cups; tissues consisted of two tissues in a paper sachet; no moisturiser. Overall, very disappointing. Breakfast was also quite disappointing. The selection was small - bread selection consisted of sliced white and wholemeal only (no unsliced or multigrain options). Fruit selection was poor. I understand that the hotel site is part of the historic fabric of the city, however the various levels (up and down stairs) in the reception - ground floor area make it difficult to navigate with suitcases. I didn’t find the service overall as particularly friendly and welcoming. I probably wouldn’t stay here again."

"Bright, airy hotel with unusual decor and furniture. Good breakfast. Close to the old town so good for walking everywhere. It was pretty quiet at night. Not all staff speak English so you need to use your Spanish!"
