Hotel Sarah Nui
7.4 (126 reviews)

Hotel Sarah Nui ★★★

📍 BP 4354 Fare Tony, Papeete

"I got a room that was near the street. Quite noisy with cars and chicken. Wish they could have a better soundproof on every rooms. The rest of stay was great. Staffs were very helpful even if they couldn't communicate in English quite well. Overall, it's all good."

Polynesian Cabins by Kon Tiki
8.2 (127 reviews)

Polynesian Cabins by Kon Tiki ★★★

📍 23 Bd de la Reine Pomare IV, Papeete

"Can recommend 10/10 Everything went very well, from checkin to service to cleanliness and calmness. Perfect to stay before or after ferry. Right opposite the harbour. Rooftop bar worth a visit!"

Hotel Reva Tahiti
8.9 (42 reviews)

Hotel Reva Tahiti ★★★

📍 Ave du Prince Hīnoi, Papeete

"Great location to ferry; cruise ship: restaurants. Clean rooms. Very helpful staff. But considering amenities it is only a 2-3 star hotel. No amenities in room. No shower cap, no body lotion, no coffee or tea bags in lobby or room. They do offer water and ice on every floor. Expensive breakfast offered. Better inexpensive breakfast offered elsewhere."

Mahana Lodge Hostel & Backpacker
7.4 (41 reviews)

Mahana Lodge Hostel & Backpacker ★★

📍 5 Rue Paul Gauguin, Papeete

"Was fantastic, very friendly people, but: on the 28th I slipped due to a water leak from my shower, my wrist was badly bruised (in any case), was not treated seriously, the towel was put down and I had to beg for ice to cool down (husband). ) One of the women did give me ice cream Now; 1 week later: still can't use my hand Also: leakage in the dorm, ditto Not taken seriously, they also put a towel down there and after mentioning it again: nothing, so I grabbed dry towels and threw the soaked ones in their cage Too bad, because it was otherwise good Of course, I should have called a doctor right away and paid them, in retrospect Now: my bikini bottoms are still there, they won't send them to me, even if I pay It was all annoying, because it was otherwise excellent, although I had the only creaking bed and I didn't sleep for 11 nights"

Hotel Tahiti Nui
7.4 (104 reviews)

Hotel Tahiti Nui ★★★

📍 Avenue Prince Hinoï, Ave du Prince Hīnoi, Papeete

"The twin room was assigned the worst external environment. The second-floor balcony was directly occupied by several giant air-conditioning outdoor units in the entire building. It was noisy, the windows and doors could not be opened, and it was extremely hot outside."

Tea Tahiti Holidays
7.4 (66 reviews)

Tea Tahiti Holidays ★★

📍 BP 4062, Papeete

"It's about a 10-minute walk from the pier. There's a supermarket right at the intersection. The room has a microwave and refrigerator. There's a swimming pool right at the entrance. There are free-range chickens in the yard."

Maitai Express Tahiti
8.5 (111 reviews)

Maitai Express Tahiti ★★★

📍 FC7J+8VV, Ave du Prince Hīnoi, Papeete

"The hotel's location is very convenient, not far from the airport and within walking distance of the city center. The hotel is clean, but the rooms are small; two large suitcases couldn't be opened simultaneously. What I disliked most was the noise from the bar until 3 AM, even after requesting a quiet room in advance."

Boutique Hôtel Kon Tiki Tahiti
8.7 (130 reviews)

Boutique Hôtel Kon Tiki Tahiti ★★★

📍 23 Bd de la Reine Pomare IV, Papeete

"You can't hear the noise from the bar downstairs on the 6th floor, but the soundproofing of the room is average, but acceptable. The front desk is very enthusiastic and will answer any questions patiently. You can also ask them to help book a taxi. It costs about $30 to take a taxi to the airport. The room is quite large, the facilities are very new, and the air conditioning is very powerful."

City Home Tahiti
8.7 (9 reviews)

City Home Tahiti ★★

📍 185 avenue du Chef Vairaatoa, Papeete

"Just what we were looking for, quiet clean and close to downtown. Nadine was an excellent host. We had the room outside off the lani which had a private bath. Simple, very clean and private. Air conditioning worked great no tv but who needs one, go out and explore!"

"The room furnishings are very old but still intact. The bed was very soft; we used our own bedding. It shouldn't be used anymore (due to stains). The service staff was excellent."

Polynesian Cabins by Kon Tiki ★★★
"The place is fantastic. Super nice staff, very supportive with individual request. They store your luggage after check out & gave us the opportunity to shower before heading to the airport. Great service! Rooms are spacious enough for 1-2 persons if you stay only 1-3 nights. Our beds (especially pillows, sheets and mattress) were super comfy and we even had a little fridge in our room. There are no windows in the cabins but the AC is doing the job First we were but concerned about the shared bathrooms & restrooms. But no need! You find bathrooms (men & women are in separate aisle) with a shower (equipped w shower gel, shampoo & conditioner) incl a toilet and sink on each floor and you simple lock the room once you need to use it. All is really clean. We also liked the design of each area. The rooftop bar offers a big variety of drinks and some snacks. Fantastic view The Kon tiki is also very central. In front of the ferry terminal and you can walk „downtown“ for shopping, eating etc If we come back and need accommodation for a couple of nights, this would be our choice Big thank you again to the team 👍"

Hotel Reva Tahiti ★★★
"The hotel I stayed at on the main island of Tahiti was a very average experience overall. The rooms booked through Ctrip didn't include breakfast; it had to be purchased separately at the front desk. I added breakfast every day for my three or four nights, but the quality was truly terrible—limited variety, very few choices, and practically nothing worth eating. The value for money was extremely low, and I sincerely don't recommend purchasing breakfast at the hotel. It's much better to eat breakfast at the nearby Burger King or pizza place; the taste and selection are much better. The rooms were small, the soundproofing was mediocre, and it wasn't quiet enough. It only met the most basic accommodation needs and had no highlights. Also, a word of caution: many places around here require cash for taxis; credit cards aren't accepted, and there are no ride-hailing apps like Uber. You'll need cash in many situations, so be sure to bring enough cash with you when you travel."

"Do not book this place! Especially if youre a solo female traveller! When I showed up around 9pm there was nobody there to welcome me. It felt like a sketchy neighborhood so thank God I had the taxi driver wait for me while I tried to get in. I had to find another hotel to stay at and this one refused to refund me so I paid for two hotels. I'm so not impressed!"

City Home Tahiti ★★
"The best part about CityHome is Nadine, who manages it. She was more helpful than we could have hoped. Neet a cab? She will schedule it. Need info about trips? Cars? Tips about shopping? Advice about where to eat? She knows it all and is happy to help. Nadine made all the difficult things about being in an unfamiliar place simple. The accommodations are comfortable, pleasant, and immaculately clean. The air conditioner in our room was quiet and worked so well that outside noise was simply not an issue even though CityHome is in a busy part of town. There is a lovely patisserie right across the street where we bought coffee and croissants in the morning, two nearby markets (2 minute walk to one, 5 to the other), and walking to the Papeete harbor takes only fifteen minutes. We rented a car and never had any trouble finding a nearby parking spot. (While we used the car to travel around the island, we really didn't use it much in the city.) The common kitchen and TV area area were clean and had everything we needed to fix a snack or a full mean when we wanted. I would certainly stay there again, and I don't know how we would have managed without Nadine."
