GGuest UserStopped for a night here during our roadtrip and we wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is a traditional ryokan and the lobby is nicely decorated with some really old furniture.
Breakfast is delicious with local fish and ingredients, I wish we had order dinner the night before.

GGuest UserThis hotel is such a gem in a charming city like Fukuyama. The amenities are plentiful, the room is really spacious and comfortable. It's a good season to open the windows at night, and even with the train, the atmosphere is really quiet at night. The hotel is on the castle side of the station, and there aren't many restaurants nearby except at the station and the other side. But the walk is not far from the station to the hotel. The castle view makes it worthwhile to stay at this side. There is free alcohol (until 7pm) and free drinks (until 11pm) in the evening at the lounge. Breakfast is amazing, lots of choices including raw sashimi. I would definitely stay again in Fukuyama, and also at Vessel Inn.

食事はついていませんでしたが、元日でも対応されている近くのカフェを予約してくださり、イタリアンのコースをいただくことができました。
古民家をリノベーションした宿泊場所は、ワンフロアを広く贅沢に使うことができて、とても居心地がよかったです。
時間があるときに、町全体の雰囲気をゆっくり味わいに、また来たいなと思いました。

GGuest UserEvery night we were told that our kiseki dinner ”has been upgraded” due to us changing to a smaller sea view room than the only mountain view room was available through trip.com. But every night at dinner, every guest were being served the same dishes. Makes us wonder what ”upgraded” really means.
We stayed for 3 nights, breakfast variety gets boring after the second morning. This being a resort, closing breakfast service at 0915 is not helping us relax...

SShunzi555You can see it from the Fukuyama Station platform; it's about a 7-8 minute walk. Take the exit in the opposite direction from Fukuyama Castle, turn right, and keep walking. I especially liked the breakfast at Toyoko Hotel—simple but delicious. I enjoyed the rice, sausage, pickled vegetables, and fried fish. It's a standard business hotel; you can check in at the machine, and there's a Chinese language option. I think if you're not looking for a resort hotel, Toyoko is definitely a good choice—economical and includes breakfast. The rooms aren't large, but the twin rooms are decent.

GGuest UserDue to a sudden business trip, I had to book a hotel across the street from my usual one.
Because there were so many tourists, the hotel rate was higher than usual, but I was surprised by how small the room was.
However, as others have commented, the breakfast was clean and good.

But overall experience was good.

GGuest UserThe hotel was clean, and the hair dryer and shower head were RIFA and very comfortable to use.
However, from about 6:00 on the day of check-out, children's noise echoed in the hallway and was very loud.
This continued for about 30 minutes, so I called the front desk and they warned me, but it was still very loud and unpleasant after that.
It's not the hotel's fault, but I was a little disappointed with how slow they were in responding.

GGuest UserThe breakfast was delicious. When I stay at a business hotel, I prioritize a hotel with a large public bath and sauna.
At Candeo Fukuyama, the sauna was good, but the water temperature in the cold bath was high, estimated at 25 degrees Celsius, and it was disappointing as it wasn't very refreshing. I wish it was at least kept below 20 degrees Celsius. I hope they improve this.

GGuest UserThere is a convenience store about 5 minutes walk away, and shopping facilities and restaurants about 10 minutes walk away, so I think you will be able to spend there without any problems. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis, but there are free areas, and since I only use the shower when I'm working, the plan without a shower in the room was not a problem. The facilities are old, but considering the price, I guess it's acceptable. Thank you for your help.
