Amazing
EElliaYuThe villa is a private residence rented out by locals, so the surrounding environment is quite ordinary. The owner is there when providing breakfast in the morning. One night, the power tripped on the first floor, and no one could handle the emergency. Fortunately, the power didn't trip on the second floor. The two of us girls went back to our room early to rest, not daring to go out. There were no slippers in the guesthouse room, and the manager told us to take off our shoes before entering. Our bare feet got black, so if you mind, please bring your own disposable slippers... It takes about 15-20 minutes by taxi from the guesthouse to the fish market. The guesthouse has a kitchen, but it doesn't have a range hood, so you can only steam or boil your own food... (PS: The seafood at the fish market is really cheap)... It could be used as a transit point...
GGuest UserVery clean room in great location with nearby restaurants and shops and next to beach. Excellent service with very professional staff. Will stay there again next trip to Negombo
УУльяна М.A good hotel when after the flight you want to breathe and not start from the place to the career, in the sense of the island) got into the season, the guests were a little, so on a small parking lot the rented tuck-tuck went without problems. The friendly staff with a great drink and switches for the charter, the number almost)) with a view. There is an exit to the sea, although I'm not sure that it is comfortable to swim there but the sunsets are chic ;) The pool was very good by the way. Bear in mind that there is no infrastructure nearby, not wanting to have dinner in the hotel, went to search and searched for enough time. Perhaps it was necessary not to wander around the neighborhood, but to give the local cook a chance, as breakfast was quite simple but delicious
GGuest UserJetwing Beach is lovely hotel.
Right on the beach, good spacious rooms, with everything you need, very clean and good AC.
Rooms over look the pool and beach which is nice to wake up to every morning.
The staff are a credit to the hotel with fantastic service from house keeping to reception to pool attendants. Could not fault it. Food and Drinks are excellent too, try the Terrace Bar for cocktails you won’t be disappointed.
Food is good value at the Beach / Pool Bar too
Would definitely recommend this hotel if your coming to Negombo
MMatthew JamesThis was my third stay at the Goldi Sands, honestly, the last time was nearly 20 years ago but I had such a great time back then I had high expectations. In the intervening 20 years, the hotel has had a revamp, double the size, double the number of swimming pools, added an elevator and they've removed the beach-fronted bungalows. All of which I think was a smart move and well worth doing. What has changed is the service and the catering. The staff are of course all very polite just that they didn't go the extra mile like they used to. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, all I wanted was a couple of bottles of beer, they did arrive but I almost had to beg. I booked a taxi to the airport with the front desk, but they forgot, the waitresses at dinner were all about the hard upsell rather than serving. The breakfast as far as my memory serves me used to be awesome, today's breakfast is the same every day and lacks imagination, is poorly presented, and includes the worst coffee ever. The hotel has a confusing number of tariffs from all-inclusive to room only which means if you want to buy a drink it takes forever as they have to check your ”status” and then if you pay cash they have to go to the cashier as they carry no float. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but basic. All in all it is still a good hotel to choose but sadly it is no longer in the memorable category.
GGuest UserSuite 262 Hotel in Negombo offers a mixed experience, with notable highlights and areas for improvement. Its location receives a commendable 4-star rating, providing convenient access to the city's attractions and beaches. While cleanliness and amenities both earn 3-star ratings, there is room for enhancement in maintaining pristine conditions and expanding the range of facilities offered. However, the hotel excels in service, boasting a 4-star rating for its attentive and accommodating staff. A standout feature is the private little courtyard pool, which serves as a delightful oasis for guests, offering a tranquil retreat within the hotel premises. Overall, Suite 262 Hotel provides a pleasant stay with its convenient location, attentive service, and the added allure of a private courtyard pool.
GGuest UserA small hotel, with simple amenities. TV had only 1 Eng channel, with unclear reception. But the service by a young man who manned the reception counter was amazing- he was also the one who cooked & served a simple breakfast of bread, eggs, fruits & drinks. After a 24-hr shift, this guy was still smiling as he served & topped up several rounds of our breakfast! Really service at its best - can't recall his name but he had longish hair & wore a curly toed leather shoes.
Thank you once again for your amazing hospitality! Will recommend Limeshine just for this guy's humble & genuine care.
TTeebashiniThe hotel is situated quite close to the airport. The driver patiently waited to pick us up after our flight was delayed 4 times. The room was huge and the toilet was so big too. To bad due to our flight delay we only manage to spend few hours. Otherwise the place was in a big garden with a pool.
Beware of mosquitoes.
Breakfast is not buffet but basic menu by request.
IIRA KAGood location - between Main street and beach (and juice bar and yammi local food in 1 min). New rooms and very clean (thanks housekeeper Jay). Nice patio and silent (and independent entrance). But owner is wheeler-dealer, will take extra charge for everything! seems like a not as BB guest house, be like 5star hotel: breakfast 10$, transfer at airport - 25, checkout after 4 hours - 10. Despite, f ex linen and towels not changing/room service doesn’t every day here. I think, greed of owner - is the reason why this hotel is empty…
TTraveling TanI stayed in this hotel for a week. It’s only been open for 5 months and at first appearance it looks good, but taking a closer look it’s still being built and repaired. There are still cables jutting out of the wall and ceiling. Although the kitchen is featured in the photos of the room, it has no tap, the cupboards are sealed. I raised some of my concerns when I arrived with the general manager when he asked me questions about my stay and he seemed blasé about addressing it. Based on what was paid, this hotel is overpriced. There are still cement stairways and drilling taking place during the day. The WiFi is awful, they finally installed a router in my room which took the week to do and it only worked on the day of my departure. The best part of the hotel is some staff members who will go out of their way to help, special mention to Jazz. They have a great pool on the roof. Until it’s fully built I wouldn’t recommend staying here!
