JJ C TengBeautiful and insta-worthy property, location is a bit off the main attractions but close to bus station. More self serve check in with no reception nor service, room has no proper window, no kettle for hot water, however bed is very comfortable. Pricey and not much amenity, won’t choose to stay here again.
GGuest UserHigh standard hotel, really good stay:
- Location is great (a little far from the center)
- Private car parking lot
- Breakfast is very good
- Hotel Room clean, shower toilet clean
Only problem is the gym that is not really a gym... just a few bikes and weights.
GGuest UserNice staff, both Ms. Blanca and Mr. Julio are friendly and helpful. The location is really good. Easy to go anywhere you want. The room is big and has its own character.
GGeriShaikhHotel wasn't too bad for our first night. They give one small bottle of water and expect clients to get more water from their ”filtered” water dispenser, which was completely empty and didn't get refilled until the following evening when we no longer needed it. The location is not walkable to any stores, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. You need to get a taxi to go anywhere.
Staff were very friendly and helpful and that was a plus.
The size of the room was all right. The beds were very comfortable. Good lighting in the room. Good size bathroom. Nice view of city below during night hours.
The biggest negative was the AC on our second and last night was leaking onto the bed. Had to keep it off all night and bear the discomfort af a warmer temp as windows don't open.
Water pressure was really good; unfortunately, the hot water isn't consistent and would keep fluctuating between hot and cold.
I do not think the value was good considering all the negatives. I wouldn't return to this hotel.
GGuest UserWe visited Oaxaca City in September, 2025, and stayed for a week at La Catrina de Alcalá. We had a King room towards the back of the building. The room was large with plenty of room to store all of our items (clothes, toiletries, backpacks, umbrellas, etc.) and was very quiet. The bedding was comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The included breakfast was continental, so we ordered off the menu a couple of times. All the food was delicious and fresh. I especially enjoyed the Chicken Mole Tamale. Finally, the location was perfect! The hotel is located on a pedestrian only street in the heart of the city. We were able to walk everywhere! We would definitely recommend this hotel and will return on our next trip to Oaxaca City.
GGodinez AburtoThe hotel is totally new (remodeled) and clean, wifi is working great at all corners and location is really centric. The only little detail would be that every little noise from the corridor can be heard inside your room. Not a big deal since is familiar time friendly. Nothing that can damage the service and attention level.
GGuest UserPaulina Youth Hostel left an indelible impression on us because of the receptionist, Kevin & the cook, Maria!
Kevin could speak good English & was great in helping us navigate the transport system. Unlike other cities that we have visited there weren’t much in terms of choices of transport to the airport. Taxis are a monopoly here!
Meanwhile Maria cooked a delicious breakfast for us the 2 mornings that we were here. She was a lovely lady with a big smile. Thank you Maria.
The location of the hostel was good. A good place to base ourselves in Oaxaca.
GGuest UserThis hotel is in the perfect location close to the historic center and a short walk into surrounding neighborhoods of Jalatlaco and Xochimilco. Lots of food and coffee around and quiet and safe at night.
Service was great and they helped us with laundry and getting taxis. A/c and hot water was strong, rooms were clean and dark out curtains were perfect. We would recommend this hotel.
