There is a fantastic main pool area, alongside a dedicated, quiet beach section for guests which is highly appreciated. As for the accommodations, the suites are spacious, functional, and beautifully designed. Having a private rooftop terrace and a personal pool makes the vacation feel extra special and luxurious. A true 10 out of 10 from us!"

Myrion Beach Resort & Spa - Adults Only

"The welcome was really well organised and very friendly. They give you a little tour when you arrive and take you to your room, which is a nice touch and helps you settle in. The hotel is quite remote, but there are a few small shops and neighbouring restaurants close by that get you through. It’s good if you want to properly switch off — it kind of forces you to relax because there isn’t loads going on. A taxi to Platanias was €12, which was worth it for a change of scenery. We also went into Chania Old Town one evening, which cost €28 each way and was definitely worth it — lovely atmosphere, good food, and nice to have a wander somewhere busier. You can’t really walk to Platanias unless you’re happy with long country lanes, so taxis are needed. We walked the opposite way one day, which turns into a seafront path after about 20–25 minutes and has a few quiet restaurants and hotels. The lane outside the hotel gets quite dark at night, so take a phone torch. The food and drinks were probably the biggest let-down and stop it being a true 5-star. Breakfast – very limited hot food, and most of it just warm unless you have an omelette cooked fresh. Service could be hit and miss — a few times we had to chase coffee, and one morning they completely forgot us while we waited for a table. We ended up skipping breakfast a few days because it didn’t feel worth the effort. Lunch – also very limited, mostly salads and a couple of other options, so we went out most days. I love a dessert and very limited options with that too. We were only B&B thankfully, as other guests said the evening buffet was cold. The little restaurant Bossa Nova just down the road saved us — lovely food and great service. We went back a few times. You can order food and drinks to your sunbed which is a nice idea, but again, it’s the same small menu. Even things like smoothies don’t exist, so if you’re not drinking alcohol there isn’t much choice. We would have happily spent more money at lunch if there was a better range. Cocktails were normal hotel prices but nothing special, probably premixed. The pool is big and you don’t need to rush for sunbeds which are also really comfy. The towel lady is great fun. There was a DJ on Sunday which lifted the mood a bit — otherwise, it’s very quiet and everyone tends to keep to themselves. That’s good if you want peace, but it was nice to have a bit of music now and then. Evening entertainment exists but it’s extremely low key. We popped our heads in a few times but didn’t stay. The beach is right in front of the hotel and super convenient, though it could do with a bit of a tidy-up. Still, it’s easy to get to and we used it quite a bit. We had a pool-view room, which I’d definitely recommend — otherwise, you’ll be looking out at the car park. The left-hand side gets the sun in the morning, the right-hand side in the afternoon, if you like to follow the sun. The room was small with limited space to put things, but housekeeping was go"

"Very nice hotel, perfect pool access suite. Luxury family-friendly hotel with a fantastic kids' club team! The children's water playground is fantastic. Very large and beautiful pool! The staff is very friendly! A little something for my daughter's 3rd birthday! The all-inclusive is very good! With the added bonus of à la carte dinners 👌 I highly recommend this hotel! We stayed 6 nights. Everything was perfect!"

"We had pre paid for 3 deluxe rooms with balconies with a view of the pool area. When we got there, they put us in 2 room(!?), where one of the room was some kind family suite. We where 3 couples. After MUCH arguing, we finally managed to get the 3 rooms. But not the rooms we paid for. 2 of the room where under the pool level so people going to the pool where looking down onto out balcony. One of the “basement” rooms also had a faint smell of sewage."

"Just returned from a 2 week holiday here & what a fabulous time we had. Was greeted on arrival (early hours of the morning) with food & drinks served which we thought was such a nice touch. Food was good & the chefs were great, always greeted you & always smiling. Very clean hotel with the friendliest staff, they couldn’t do enough for you, special mention to Aris who is so friendly with all guests & had such good banter with him, we loved seeing him around! Also Sasha behind the bar was so friendly & always smiling. Eleanor (receptionist) she is so funny, made us laugh every day! Rooms are spacious & very clean, loved that the shower & toilet were separates. We nearly changed our hotel due to reading reviews saying it was quiet but so glad we didn’t. The bus is approx 40 minutes to Chania & only 2.50 euros per adult. Would highly recommend this hotel."

"We booked a week in the Katerina in June 24 and were given a studio in the adjoining rooms, the Leonardis on arrival. There was only a hand held shower there, the hob was rusty and no toiletries apart from hand wash. Very disappointing! Needs lots of TLC and modernising. Perhaps the Katerina is better but we didn’t get a room there!"

"We had a wonderful stay at Caldera Creta Paradise and really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel was beautiful, clean and comfortable, and the staff were always kind, friendly and helpful. The best part of our stay was definitely the entertainment team. They were absolutely amazing! They were full of energy, always smiling and made everyone feel welcome. The daytime activities were fun and enjoyable, and the evening shows were fantastic for both adults and children. They worked very hard every day and created such a happy and friendly atmosphere around the hotel. Chrispy Waterpark Resort - All Inclusive

"We are a family of five from Finland and stayed at this hotel for 7 nights (22–29 July 2026). Overall, the hotel is very basic and modest for what is advertised — do not expect much beyond a place to sleep. The food was okay but quite limited and repetitive — the same dishes came back day after day, and the selection at the buffet was noticeably scarce, especially in the evenings. The alcohol included in All Inclusive is cheap, low-quality local stuff, and even that wasn't reliable — on more than one evening, staff refused to serve us drinks, claiming everything had "run out" well before the bar's advertised closing time. Ants were a constant problem, both in the room and around the restaurant area. The water park itself is decent and the kids enjoyed the slides, but that was really the only highlight. What bothered us most was the number of hidden extra costs everywhere — it feels like every little thing on top of the basic package requires an additional payment, and this is not made clear at the time of booking. The biggest issue: we paid for 7 full nights, but in practice we only really got 6 usable days. We arrived late in the evening (around 11 PM) on day one, and by then all restaurants and bars were already closed — so the entire first evening was wasted. Then on the departure day, even though our flight wasn't until 10:55 PM, the room and All Inclusive service were cut off at 11:00 AM. If we wanted to stay in the room longer or keep using All Inclusive after checkout, we were told we'd have to pay extra on the spot. So effectively, out of 7 paid days, we lost almost 2 entire days of service. Overall a disappointing stay for the price — the water park is nice, but that's about all this hotel has going for it."
